Back in June 2013, I was suddenly inspired to read Martin Luther King Jr.’s thoughtful, powerful and provocative “Letter from Birmingham Jail.” It struck such a chord with me that I decided to write a post on it, in which I highlighted key excerpts.

Today, January 20th, is Martin Luther King Day for those of us in these United States. With the Republic at such a crossroads, one filled with peril, but also with tremendous opportunity; it would serve us all well to heed the words this great man wrote so many years ago, during another troubled and dynamic time in our history. As such, I am reposting my piece from last summer below.

Even if you have read Martin Luther King’s celebrated “Letter from Birmingham Jail,” I insist you read it again. For those that have never read it, the inspired prose may very well change your life.  The letter’s message is eternal and extraordinarily relevant in the current global struggle of the 99.9% against the criminality, corruption and oppression of a very small, but very powerful 0.01%.  One of the key tactics this tiny minority uses is to claim that their immoral deeds are “legal.”  He spends much of his time in the letter outlining the distinction between “just laws” and an “unjust laws,” and one of the key points he makes that we should all keep close to our hearts and minds in these trying times is:

We should never forget that everything Adolf Hitler did in Germany was “legal” and everything the Hungarian freedom fighters did in Hungary was “illegal.” It was “illegal” to aid and comfort a Jew in Hitler’s Germany. Even so, I am sure that, had I lived in Germany at the time, I would have aided and comforted my Jewish brothers.

I also think it’s important to recognize that many of his contemporaries referred to his tactics as “extremist,” very similar to how the term “terrorist” is used currently to demonize public dissent in America.  Below are some of the excepts I found most powerful:

Its main purpose was to collect information on the Red Army. After the war Gehlen sided with the US occupiers. In 1946 he set up an intelligence agency informally known as the Gehlen Organization or simply “The Org” and recruited, initially quite modestly, some of his former co-workers. Many were operatives of Admiral Wilhelm Canaris’ war-time Abwehr organization, but Gehlen also recruited from the former Sicherheitsdienst, SS and Gestapo. The latter recruits were later controversial because the SS and its associated groups were notoriously linked to many Nazi atrocities during the war.[2] The organization worked at first almost exclusively for the CIA, which contributed funding, equipment, cars, gasoline and other materials. (CN) – Veterans won another court order requiring the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to hand over more documents about its Cold War-era drug experiments on thousands of Vietnam veterans.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley in Oakland, Calif., said the documents requested were “squarely relevant” to the claim that the government failed to adequately notify veterans of the chemicals they were exposed to and what that exposure might do to their health.

The Army and the CIA, with the help of Nazi scientists, used at least 7,800 veterans as human guinea pigs for testing the effects of up to 400 types of drugs and chemicals, including mescaline, LSD, amphetamines, barbituates, mustard gas and nerve agents, the Vietnam Veterans of America and individual soldiers claim in a 2009 class action.

The government covered up the true nature of its experiments, which began in the 1950s under code names such as “Bluebird,” “Artichoke” and “MKUltra.”

In “Project Paperclip,” the Army and CIA allegedly recruited Nazi scientists to help test various psychochemicals and develop a new truth serum using its own veterans as test subjects.

“Over half of these Nazi recruits had been members of the SS or Nazi Party,” according to the class action. “The ‘Paperclip’ name was chosen because so many of the employment applications were clipped to immigration papers.”

Barenboim: It saddens me that official Israel so doggedly refuses to allow Wagner to be performed — as was the case, once again, at the University of Tel Aviv two weeks ago — because I see it as a symptom of a disease. The words I’m about to use are harsh, but I choose them deliberately: There is a politicization of the remembrance of the Holocaust in Israel, and that’s terrible.

SPIEGEL: Please explain what you mean.

Barenboim: When I came to Israel from Argentina in 1952, as a 10-year-old, no one talked about the Holocaust. The catastrophe was still much too close for the survivors, and young Israelis wanted to create a new Judaism. They wanted to show that Jews were not only able to be artists and bankers, but could also pursue farming and sports. They looked forward and didn’t want to talk about the suffering of their parents.

Most United States citizens would opt out of getting vaccines if they understood that natural foods, vitamins, herbs and supplements build up the immune system enough to fight off almost any disease known to mankind. In 2006, the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act (PREP) was signed into law by the Bush Administration, giving the U.S. Government the power to declare a “national emergency” for any infectious disease they claim is spreading and therefore require mandatory vaccinations for the entire population of the United States. In other words, U.S. citizens can now be denied their constitutional right of choice and be force-vaccinated or face jail time for being a “threat to national security,” all without trial, and without any legal representation. Auschwitz, the largest German concentration camp of WWII, was the ideal “guinea pig” testing arena for dangerous pharmaceutical drugs and vaccines created by IG Farben (a very powerful cartel that consisted of German chemical and pharmaceutical companies such as BASF, Bayer, and Hoechst). Jewish prisoners of war would not be able to “sue” the government, so inhumane testing ensued. By vaccinating Jews, homosexuals, and anyone who denied the political views of the Nazi’s (including children), Hitler was isolating his “master race” by sickening, weakening, or killing opposition, with a passive and silent terror campaign through vaccinations and nerve gas. Nazi Germany wasn’t a conspiracy theory, it was real, but people underestimated the movement as it rose up, and look what happened. Before and during the war, the Nazi’s tested Jews the same way we test and breed animals (including the ones we eat) in the United States today. How are GMO (pesticide-laden) foods which cause cancer so different from pushing dangerous, chemical laden vaccines (like swine and flu shots) on humans? And how similar were the Nazi concentration camp conditions to the conditions we find many animals living in today – trapped in a horror story from birth to miserable death – also known as Concentrated (or Confined) Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs)?

There is a war going on today for chemical-free food and water, and a war for personal liberties that allow citizens the right tohave GMO foods labeled, and to opt out of vaccinations. It’s been only 70 years since World War II, and the mad scientists didn’t just go away, they went to work for corporations and pharmaceutical companies that run the vaccine and food industries now. Their heirs are continuing the “tradition” of making money by any means, with complete disregard for human sanctity.
