Putin Formally Annexes Crimea, City Of Sevastopol To Russian Federation

Putin Formally Annexes Crimea, City Of Sevastopol To Russian Federation (ZeroHedge, March 18, 2014):

And there it is:

  • PUTIN ASKS FOR CRIMEA, CITY OF SEVASTOPOL TO BE ADDED TO RUSSIA
  • PUTIN SAYS WILL SUBMIT DRAFT LAW ON BRINGING CRIMEA INTO RUSSIA TO PARLIAMENT ON TUESDAY
  • PUTIN CALLS FOR RATIFICATION OF TREATY ON CRIMEA, SEVASTOPOL

And the inevitable conclusion:

  • RUSSIA, CRIMEA, SEVASTOPOL SIGN AGREEMENT ON ENTERING ACCESSION
  • REPUBLIC OF CRIMEA CONSIDERED PART OF RUSSIA FROM DATE OF SIGNING AGREEMENT – KREMLIN

And futures, stocks, and risk in general is soaring, sending the Kremlin precisely the message it needs to know that there is absolutely nothing wrong with this. Perhaps if Russia had annexed all of Ukraine, or the Baltics, or maybe even Poland, the S&P would have soared over 2000 already?

‘Putin Did The Right Thing’ Says Marc Faber, But Fears China Implications More

“Putin Did The Right Thing” Says Marc Faber, But Fears China Implications More (ZeroHedge, March 17, 2014):

While Marc Faber is adamant that “there’s lots of funny things that are happening in China. And when the whole thing unwinds it will be a disaster,” it is his comments with regard Ukraine (and Russia) that are worth paying significant new attention to. As The Gloom, Boom & Doom Report editor notes in this brief Bloomberg TV interview, if you put yourself in Putin’s shoes “he did the right thing from his perspective,” given Crimea’s strategic importance. However, as Faber concludes, “Crimea moving to Russia gives essentially a signal to China that one day they can also move and seize some territory that they perceive belongs to them.”

Faber On Russia, Ukraine and its signaling to China…

Mr. Putin did the right thing from his perspective. We have to look – put ourselves into his shoes. He did absolutely the right thing at the right time.

Ron Paul: “If Spying On Senate Is So Bad, Why Is It OK For Them To Spy On Us?”

If Spying On Senate Is So Bad, Why Is It OK For Them To Spy On Us? (The Ron Paul Institute, March 16, 2014):

By Ron Paul

The reaction of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) to last week’s revelations that the CIA secretly searched Senate Intelligence Committee computers reveals much about what the elites in government think about the rest of us. “Spy on thee, but not on me!”

The hypocrisy of Sen. Feinstein is astounding. She is the biggest backer of the NSA spying on the rest of us, but when the tables are turned and her staff is the target she becomes irate. But there is more to it than that. There is an attitude in Washington that the laws Congress passes do not apply to Members. They can trample our civil liberties, they believe, but it should never affect their own freedom.

Yuan Tumbles To 11-Month Lows As China Home Price Growth Slows

Yuan Tumbles To 11-Month Lows As China Home Price Growth Slows (ZeroHedge, March 17, 2014):

It would appear that the widening of the daily trading bands (we discussed last night) are having a directional effect on USDCNY as the devaluation continues on the back of forced carry-trade unwinds. At 6.19, CNY is its weakest in 11 months (2.5% weaker than its lows in January) and the last 2 months have seen by far the biggest weakening in the currency on record. This ‘implied’ easing is modestly supporting the stock market and copper for now (though we suspect that is more spillover from risk-on squeezes post-Ukraine). While Goldman and BofA are adamant that widening the bands will not mean a change in trend overall, it seems clear that hot money is outflowing and driving a trend change anyway as corporate bond prices are not rising and home-price appreciation is slowing in the major cities.

How To Block Mercury In Your Diet Using Common, Everyday Foods

How to block nearly all the mercury in your diet using common, everyday foods (Natural News, March 18, 2014):

As part of my ongoing scientific research into heavy metals, elemental retention and metals capturing (see explanatory videos here), I have identified and documented anti-heavy-metals substances which have a remarkable natural affinity for binding with and “capturing” heavy metals.

Why is this important? Because much of the “scientific” community today is actually corporate-driven junk science that’s trying to poison you with mercury in vaccines, mercury in dental fillings, heavy metals in fluoride, GMOs, pesticides and more. It is extremely rare for anyone to actually spend time, money and effort to research how to REMOVE mercury from your body… and then publicly share that information in the interests of public health.

That’s why I humbly ask that you share this article with as many people as possible, and especially share the chart below which describes the most effective natural foods and dietary substances for binding with mercury.

Vladimir Kramnik Vs Garry Kasparov – Kasparov’s Immortal Queen Sacrifice (Video)

Description:

During his dominant reign as the 13th world chess champion, Garry Kasparov was playing some of the most aggressive chess ever seen in the history of the game. Many of Kasparov´s games were downright inspirational as he consistently sought to maximize complications and pressure against his unfortunate opponents. In the follow chess video, we will examine a legendary game where Kasparov employs an early queen sacrifice very similar to the Bronstein Variation of the King´s Indian Defense. In compensation for the sacrificed queen, Kasparov obtains 2 minor pieces and a pawn accompanied by an incredibly dangerous initiative across the entire board. This game is a true masterpiece and boasts extremely high instructional value for playing actively and dynamically in positions of material imbalance.

Garry Kasparov Vs 13-Year-Old Magnus Carlsen – King’s Indian Defense (Video)

Description:

With the white pieces, Kasparov employs a somewhat strange move order from the English Opening that becomes the white side of a King’s Indian Defense. Carlsen chooses the sharp Gligoric System with 7. …exd4, 8. …c6, and 9. …Re8 — to which Kasparov responds with the Taimanov Variation with 10. Bf2, 11. exd5, and 12. c5 — leading to a very double-edged position in which black must play very actively to maintain the balance due to his long-term positional disadvantage with the weak, isolated d5 pawn. After 17. Rad1, black’s position is visibly difficult as he lacks coordination and his previous activity now looks very superficial. With 22. d7! Kasparov blasts open the position and forces the win of substantial material — leading to Carlsen’s resignation down a piece on 32. Re3

“Most Transparent Administration Ever” Rejected Record Number Of FOIA Requests (ZeroHedge, March 17, 2014):

One upon a time everyone got a hearty chuckle when Obama declared, on the very first day of his ascension to the throne, that his administration would be the “most transparent in history.” And if they didn’t then, they certainly will now following news that it none other than Obama’s own administration – made infamous for spying on everyone who uses electronic communication courtesy of one whistleblower – that it has refused a record number of Freedom of Information (don’t laugh) requests on the basis of, drumroll, national security. So between the NSA, whose job is to ensure national security, and all those pesky meddlesome investigators, whose only curiosity is to peek behind the secrecy of the Obama administration, there should be precisely zero acts of terrorism on US soil. Like last year’s Boston bombing for example. Oh wait…

From AP:

The Obama administration more often than ever censored government files or outright denied access to them last year under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, according to a new analysis of federal data by The Associated Press.

Putin Strikes Back: Russia’s Sanctions List Said To Include US Senators, High Ranking Administration Officials

Putin Strikes Back: Russia’s Sanctions List Said To Include US Senators, High Ranking Administration Officials (ZeroHedge, March 17, 2014):

Ever since the theatrical announcement of asset freezes and other related sanctions of various Putin aides, Russian military and pro-Russia Ukrainian leaders earlier today by both the US president and the EU, the nagging question was when and how would Vladimir Vladimirovich retaliate, with tomorrow’s Putin address to the joint session of Parliament seeming as a probable time and place. It now appears that Putin’s personal retaliation has been leaked in advance, and according to the Daily Beast’s Josh Rogin, it will involve an in kind response where various US senators and highly placed officials will be banned from visiting Russia, and likely also see their particular assets – if any- in Russian custody promptly frozen.

‘Never Has There Been A Safe Vaccine. Never Will There Be A Safe Vaccine’

“Never Has There Been A Safe Vaccine. Never Will There Be A Safe Vaccine” (The Daily Sheeple, March 17, 2014):

The world is constantly bombarded with the idea that vaccines are completely safe and necessary, it’s mass marketing at its best. It’s always best to do some examination and research before blindly believing what you are told. It’s good to know that more doctors who have spent years researching the topic are sharing their professional opinions. Sure, there are doctors that support and trust vaccinations, but just as valid are the arguments of those that don’t support them. They should not be ignored. The point I’m trying to make is that there is no definite answer, that the debate has not been settled as so many governing health authorities claim it to be.

The US Geological Survey originally reported the quake at a 7.0 magnitude but later downgraded it. The tremor struck offshore at 4.16pm at a depth of 20km. Its epicentre was 60km northwest of the Chilean port of Iquique.

The USGS said that was followed by a 6.2-magnitude quake, one of 5.1 and three of 4.9.

UBS Investigated For Gold Manipulation Suggesting Gold Inquiry Goes Beyond London Fix

UBS Investigated For Gold Manipulation Suggesting Gold Inquiry Goes Beyond London Fix (ZeroHedge, March 17, 2014):

The last time the FT penned an article on the topic of gold manipulation, titled “Gold price rigging fears put investors on alert” it was promptly taken down without much (any) of an explanation. Luckily, we recorded the article for posterity here. Earlier today, another article on the topic appears to have slipped through the cracks of the distinguished editors of the financial journal that enjoys the ad spend of the status quo, when it reported that “Gold pricing scrutiny widens”, hardly an update that will take the world by storm, however it is notable that “even” the FT, where for years goldbugs claiming gold manipulation had been ridiculed, is finally start to admit the glaringly obvious.

In this case, the FT looks at one of the most habitual and recidivist manipulators of practically every asset class that the market has ever known, Swiss bank UBS, better known as the rat that is allegedly perfectly happy to expose all other manipulators in exchange for immunity, and focuses on the Friday’s admission by UBS in its 2013 annual report: “that a review of its foreign exchange operations has been widened to include its precious metals business. In the report, the Swiss bank said: “Following an initial media report in June 2013 of widespread irregularities in the foreign exchange markets, UBS immediately commenced an internal review of its foreign exchange business, which includes our precious metals business.

General Motors Is In Trouble, Recalls Another 1.5 Million Cars; Halts Sales Until ‘Solution’ Completed

GM Recalls Another 1.5 Million Cars; Halts Sales Until “Solution” Completed (ZeroHedge, March 17, 2014):

General Motors is in trouble. On the heels of a 1.3 million car recall over fault ignition switches (that allegedly caused 12 deaths and could have been fixed with a $1 part), the bailed-out car maker has announced it will take a $300 million charge in Q1 to cover costs associated with this and 3 new recalls covering an additional 1.5 million cars. As Reuters reports, unsold vehicles will be placed on a stop-delivery until development of a solution has been completed. Why is this such a problem? Because GM’s channel-stuffed dealer inventory is already at all-time record highs as the entire industry projected the sales to continue ad infinitum and inventory-to-sales surged to near-record highs.

29-Year-Old Welfare Parasite Would Not Accept An $80,000 A Year Job Driving A Truck

FYI.

29-Year-Old Welfare Parasite Would Not Accept An $80,000 A Year Job Driving A Truck (Economic Collapse, March 17, 2014):

What should be done with a 29-year-old welfare parasite that believes that in addition to practicing with his rock band, his main job in life is to “make sure the sun’s up and the girls are out”?  Most people that receive government assistance truly need the help and do not abuse the system, but there are definitely others that do abuse the system and do not make any excuses for doing so.  When 29-year-old Jason Greenslate was recently asked if he would be willing to take a job driving a truck in North Dakota for $80,000 a year, he said that he would not.  He would rather keep purchasing sushi and lobster with his EBT card and hanging out with his rock band.  Greenslate seems very happy with his taxpayer-funded lifestyle, and he says that he wants “to thank the United States of America, and the situation — the way things are set up”.  Is this really what we pay taxes for?  The rest of us are taxed into oblivion so that we can fund the endless partying of parasites like Jason Greenslate?  What in the world is happening to this country?

If you have never heard of Jason Greenslate, let me get you caught up by quoting the article that I wrote about him last year:

Navy Seals Take Over North-Korea-Flagged Oil Tanker In Libya

Navy Seals Take Over North-Korea-Flagged Oil Tanker In Libya (ZeroHedge, March 17, 2014):

Tensions around the North-Korea-flagged tanker that “illegally” obtained oil from rebels who hold a Libyan port have been escalating for the last week. However, The BBC reports that overnight US forces, at the request of both the Libyan and Cypriot governments, boarded and took control of the commercial tanker Morning Glory. The raid by Navy Seals took place in international waters south of Cyprus, said spokesman Rear Adm John Kirby. The US Seals operated from the USS Roosevelt, a guided missile destroyer, which “provided helicopter support and served as a command and control and support platform” and are now in “full control” of the vessell carrying 234,000 barrels of illicity-obtained oil. The message is clear – don’t mess with the Petrodollar.

Russian Sanctioned By White House Responds On Twitter To ‘Comrade Obama’

Russian Sanctioned By White House Responds On Twitter To “Comrade Obama” (ZeroHedge, March 17, 2014):

Moments ago we listed the Russian Putin “advisors” impacted by the latest Obama executive order freezing those assets over which the US has access. Among them was deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin and Russia’s ambassador to NATO. As a reminder, in 2011 Russian President Dmitry Medvedev appointed Dmitry Rogozin as a Special Representative on anti-missile defence and negotiations with NATO countries on this issue. On 23 December 2011 Dmitry Rogozin was appointed deputy premier of Russian Government in charge of defense and space industry. As responsible for the defense industry he leads the creation of the Russian Foundation for Advanced Research Projects in the Defense Industry (Russian DARPA). Moments ago Rogozin replied to Obama’s “freezing” of his, among other, assets.

Which, as reported on Friday, probably is the case for many Russians oligarchs, who were expecting this move by Obama long ago. Worst case, a whole lot of New York City duplex penthouses are about to hit the market. And then this follow up tweet:
