In recent years it has come to light that the Department of Homeland Security has amassed an arsenal that includes billions of rounds of ammunition, high-powered assault rifles, riot gear and armored vehicles. But according to a new report from WND, they’re not the only ones preparing for a future conflict that may involve law enforcement, military and intelligence assets.

The U.S. State Department has now joined the mix, having recently placed purchase orders for everything from plastic and liquid explosives to detonating cords and fuse igniters. It’s not clear what the State Department, whose responsibility is to oversee international relations and  foreign policy via embassies around the world, intends to do with hundreds of pounds of explosives that are likely to be shipped outside of the United States, but it’s clear that whatever the mission may be, it’s not exactly peaceful.

Folks… you just can’t make this stuff up.

A few days ago the President of the United States signed into public law bill S. 2195, now known as Pub.L. 113-100.

The law aims to “deny admission to the United States to any representative to the United Nations who has been found to have been engaged in espionage activities or a terrorist activity against the United States and poses a threat to United States national security interests.”

In other words, if the US government thinks that if you have been spying on the United States, then they won’t let you in the country.

Gee, let’s think for a moment– who has been engaging in espionage against the United States? Anyone?

Ah, right. The US government. Mr. Obama himself. The entire US intelligence network. They’ve all been engaging in espionage against the United States, especially its citizens.

But let us not forget, the law also bars entry for folks who have engaged in terrorist activity against the United States.

Just so that we don’t mince words, my dictionary defines terrorism as the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.

Once again, the US government. Violence? Check. Intimidation? Check.

Yesterday the Department of Homeland Security announced that it is seeking an ammunition dealer who can provide 25 million shotgun rounds to the agency over a five year period, adding to its already enormous arsenal of ammo.

The solicitation posted on FBO.gov states that U.S. Customs and Border Protection, a department under DHS, is seeking “shotgun ammunition for use by all applicable agencies in the Department of Homeland Security,” more specifically three million rounds of shotgun slugs per year and two million rounds of buckshot per year for five years.

“The ammunition will be used as appropriate at all Department of Homeland Security (DHS or department) component locations nationwide and outside the CONUS [continental United States,]” the notice reads.

The Department of Homeland Security is set to activate a national license plate tracking system that will be shared with law enforcement, allowing DHS officers to take photos of any license plate using their smartphone and upload it to a database which will include a “hot list” of “target vehicles”.

The details are included in a PDF attachment uploaded yesterday to the Federal Business Opportunities website under a solicitation entitled “National License Plate Recognition Database.”

The system will “track vehicle license plate numbers that pass through cameras or are voluntarily entered into the system from a variety of sources (access control systems, asset recovery specialists, etc.) and uploaded to share with law enforcement” in order to help locate “criminal aliens and absconders.”

The commissioners could not recall how or why they had voted to delay the decision, which they did unanimously in May 2013. […] “The commission decided not to move forward with that,” [Chairman Allison] Macfarlane said. When asked why she said, “It was a commission decision. “An earned path to citizenship for those currently present in this country is a matter of, in my view, homeland security to encourage people to come out from the shadows,” said Johnson, in what he remarked was one of his first public speeches since being confirmed as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) chief in December.

“It is also, frankly, in my judgment, a matter of who we are as Americans,” he said, “to offer the opportunity to those who want to be citizens, who’ve earned the right to be citizens, who are present in this country–many of whom came here as children–to have the opportunity that we all have to try to become American citizens.”

The discovery in 2009 of two al Qaeda-Iraq terrorists living as refugees in Bowling Green, Kentucky — who later admitted in court that they’d attacked U.S. soldiers in Iraq — prompted the bureau to assign hundreds of specialists to an around-the-clock effort aimed at checking its archive of 100,000 improvised explosive devices collected in the war zones, known as IEDs, for other suspected terrorists’ fingerprints.
