– Stein Vows To Launch Recounts In More States To Ensure “Election Integrity”:

After drawing criticism from almost everyone for her recount efforts in WI, PA, & MI, Jill Stein is doubling down saying that she “would support efforts elsewhere to uphold election integrity.”  Ironically, the only thing actually threatening our “election integrity” at the moment is Jill Stein’s recount effort.

Just yesterday we wrote a note asking why Jill Stein was pursuing these recount efforts (see “Is This The Democrats’ Real Strategy In Launching Recounts?“).  Certainly there is practically no hope of switching the ~100,000 votes that would be needed for Hillary to win WI, MI and PA and even the Obama administration and the Department of Homeland Security have confirmed that there is no evidence of election hacking.  Which left us to speculate that Stein is simply hoping to disrupt the electoral college process to push the 2016 election into the hands Congress while drawing the legitimacy of Trump’s presidency into question.

Russian President Putin said that the resolution is a “visible sign of degradation of Western society’s idea of democracy.”

Sales and traffic at U.S. brick-and-mortar stores on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday declined from last year, as Reuters reports that stores offered discounts well beyond the weekend and more customers shopped online.

The National Retail Federation reports that spending per person over Thanksgiving Weekend this year was $289.19, down 3.4% from $299.60 in the same period last year.

The Washington Post has a history of misrepresenting Ron Paul’s views. Last year the supposed newspaper of record ran a feature article by David A. Fahrenthold in which Fahrenthold grossly mischaracterized Paul as an advocate for calamity, oppression, and poverty — the opposite of the goals Paul routinely expresses and, indeed, expressed clearly in a speech at the event upon which Fahrenthold’s article purported to report. Such fraudulent attacks on the prominent advocate for liberty and a noninterventionist foreign policy fall in line with the newspaper’s agenda. As Future of Freedom Foundation President Jacob G. Hornberger put it in a February editorial, the Post’s agenda is guided by “the interventionist mindset that undergirds the mainstream media.”

On Saturday night, anyone seeking to find the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in New York was met with an unexpected result: the Trump residence and transition campaign HQ was briefly renamed “Dump Tower” on Google Maps. The unofficial new name didn’t last too long, however, with the president-elect’s transition headquarters completely removed shortly after.

After social media discovered the renaming and, the location vanished completely from the map before reappearing with its original “Trump Tower” moniker. Trump International Hotel & Tower in Columbus Circle was also renamed Dump International Hotel & Tower, according to PIX11.

The continuing reaction of the liberal elite to the repudiation of the Democratic establishment by their traditional constituencies of the young and working people is a wonder to behold.  They thrash back and forth between a denial of their failure, and disgust at everyone else they can blame for it. cf Paul Krugman, The Populism Perplex.

It could not possibly be because of anything they might have done or failed to do.   And so they are caught in a credibility trap.

How close is too close for NATO to spread Eastwards, and how far will they test the boundaries? Talks of Ukraine joining the military alliance were on the agenda the 2000s, but ceased after Russia’s swift response to the Georgian aggression in Tskhinvali in 2008. Currently, the Ukraine is unable to join NATO due to internal conflict – the absence of which is a prerequisite for new members.

It would seem then that stopping the US-initiated war in Eastern Ukraine would be beneficial to US interests – or, are they fully aware, that this most certainly will not be allowed to happen as a direct threat to Russia’s security?

The former chief executive officer claimed that the use of negative interest rates and huge positive balance sheets represent ‘weapons of mass destruction’. He calls for an end to the use of negative interest rates.

A reservoir of water three times the volume of all the oceans has been discovered deep beneath the Earth’s surface. The finding could help explain where Earth’s seas came from.

The water is hidden inside a blue rock called ringwoodite that lies 700 kilometres underground in the mantle, the layer of hot rock between Earth’s surface and its core.

The huge size of the reservoir throws new light on the origin of Earth’s water. Some geologists think water arrived in comets as they struck the planet, but the new discovery supports an alternative idea that the oceans gradually oozed out of the interior of the early Earth.
