Climate Change: The Skeptic’s Case – ‘The Climate Models Got ALL Their Major Predictions Wrong’

H/t reader squodgy:

“The Rothschilds AGAIN…..”

Dr. David M.W. Evans consulted full time for the Australian Greenhouse Office (now the Department of Climate Change) from 1999 to 2005, and part time 2008 to 2010, modeling Australia’s carbon in plants, debris, mulch, soils, and forestry and agricultural products. Evans is a mathematician and engineer, with six university degrees including a PhD from Stanford University in electrical engineering. The area of human endeavor with the most experience and sophistication in dealing with feedbacks and analyzing complex systems is electrical engineering, and the most crucial and disputed aspects of understanding the climate system are the feedbacks. The evidence supporting the idea that CO2 emissions were the main cause of global warming reversed itself from 1998 to 2006, causing Evans to move from being a warmist to a skeptic.

The Skeptic’s Case (Ludwig von Mises Institute, Feb 24, 2012):

We check the main predictions of the climate models against the best and latest data. Fortunately the climate models got all their major predictions wrong. Why? Every serious skeptical scientist has been consistently saying essentially the same thing for over 20 years, yet most people have never heard the message. Here it is, put simply enough for any lay reader willing to pay attention.

Arctic Ice Cap Covers 656,000 Sq Miles MORE Than 2 Years Ago

Arctic ice cap covers 656,000 sq miles MORE than 2 years ago (Ice Age Now, Aug 31, 2014):

Daily Mail trashes Al Gore’s prediction that the Arctic would be ICE-FREE by now.

Stunning satellite images show summer ice cap is thicker and covers 1.7 million square kilometres MORE than 2 years ago…despite Al Gore’s prediction it would be ICE-FREE by now,” reads the headline.

“The North Polar ice cap is falling off a cliff. It could be completely gone in summer in as little as seven years. Seven years from now,” said Al Gore in 2007 as he accepted the Nobel Peace Prize for his campaign to fight so-called “global warming”.

Australian Bureau Of Meteorology Caught Red-Handed Manipulating Temperature Records

Australian Bureau of Meteorology caught red-handed manipulating temperature records (Ice Age Now, Aug 30, 2014):

Accused of criminally adjusting data to show “global warming” where none actually exists.

“At Amberley, Queensland, for example, the data at a weather station showing 1 degree Celsius cooling per century was “homogenized” (adjusted) by the Bureau so that it instead showed a 2.5 degrees warming per century,” says this article on Brietbart.com.

“At Rutherglen, Victoria, a cooling trend of -0.35 degrees C per century was magically transformed at the stroke of an Australian meteorologist’s pen into a warming trend of 1.73 degrees C per century.

“Last year, the Australian Bureau of Meteorology made headlines in the liberal media by claiming that 2013 was Australia’s hottest year on record.

“But we now know, thanks to research by Australian scientist Jennifer Marohasy, that the hysteria this story generated was based on fabrications and lies.

Obama Set to Sign UN Climate Change Agreement WITHOUT Congress

Obama Set to Sign UN Climate Change Agreement WITHOUT Congress (The Daily Sheeeple, Aug 27, 2014):

The New York Times is reporting that the Obama administration is working behind the scenes to “forge a sweeping international climate change agreement to compel nations to cut their planet-warming fossil fuel emissions,” without seeking approval from Congress whatsoever:

In preparation for this agreement, to be signed at a United Nations summitmeeting in 2015 in Paris, the negotiators are meeting with diplomats from other countries to broker a deal to commit some of the world’s largest economies to enact laws to reduce their carbon pollution. But under the Constitution, a president may enter into a legally binding treaty only if it is approved by a two-thirds majority of the Senate.

To sidestep that requirement, President Obama’s climate negotiators are devising what they call a “politically binding” deal that would “name and shame” countries into cutting their emissions. The deal is likely to face strong objections from Republicans on Capitol Hill and from poor countries around the world, but negotiators say it may be the only realistic path. [emphasis added]

Notice the statement didn’t say climate change “rules” to be enacted, but “laws” to reduce carbon pollution.

If it quacks like a duck … it must be a turtle

If it quacks like a duck … it must be a turtle (Ice Age Now, Aug 22, 2014):

“Why We’re Definitely Not Headed for Another Ice Age.”

When I saw that headline in Newsweek, I thought, do they know something that I don’t? But once I read the article, it left me wondering how in the world they came to that conclusion.

It reminds me of the great retort by paleontologist Robert Bakker to those who did not agree with his belief that many kinds of dinosaurs were birds.

“There are still a few of my colleagues who think if it walks like a duck, breathes like a duck and grows like a duck, it must be a turtle,” said Bakker.

Let’s see if this Newsweek article is a duck or a turtle.

Saskatchewan Wheat Production To Decline Dramatically

Saskatchewan wheat production forecast to decline dramatically this year (Ice Age Now, Aug 21, 2014):

According to Statistics Canada, wheat production is expected to fall 27 per cent while canola is expected to be off 23 per cent from 2013 levels.

The reason? Because fewer acres were seeded, and because the rainy weather that flooded millions of acres put the crops up to two weeks behind normal development in certain areas.

More warm weather is needed, says the provincial Agriculture Ministry. Instead, cooler weather is on the way.

California Droughts: Then And Now

– California Droughts: Then And Now (Erico Matias Tavares of Sinclair & Co, Aug 21, 2014):

The obstinate drought in California is showing no signs of letting up, and is now being compared to the last major drought which took place during 1976 and 1977.

Back then, the state was not as well equipped to cope with severe dryness. The sharp decline of surface water supplies coupled with the lack of backup reservoirs and waterways caused a lot of damage to the state’s agriculture, in particular to the livestock industry. As it turned out, the drought reversed itself completely a year later, and California powered on to become the major agro-industrial player it is today.

As President Obama and his Environmental Protection Agency continue waging war on coal, oil and gas – it is families in Coal Country, USA that are being hammered hardest.

“States that mine coal or use it to generate affordable electricity for homes, hospitals and factories are losing jobs, facing widespread power plant closures, and seeing their electricity prices climb higher and higher. The effects on people’s health and welfare grow steadily worse, but are ignored by EPA, which is fixated on “preventing dangerous manmade climate change,” at any cost.

Life will be nasty, brutish and short

Life will be nasty, brutish and short (Ice Age Now, Aug 20, 2014):

“We’re ill-prepared if the iceman cometh,” writes Maurice Newman in The Australian.

“What if David Archibald’s book The Twilight of Abundance: Why Life in the 21st Century Will Be Nasty, Brutish, and Short turns out to be right?,” asks Newman, former ABC chairman and chairman of the Australian Prime Minister’s business advisory council.

“What if the warmth the world has enjoyed for the past 50 years is the result of solar activity, not man-made CO2?”

Newman points to Russian scientists at the Pulkovo Observatory, who “are convinced the world is in for a cooling period that will last for 200-250 years.”

He also refers to respected Norwegian solar physicist Pal Brekke, who “warns temperatures may actually fall for the next 50 years.”

John Kerry tells starving Africans to refrain from creating new farms because they’d contribute to global warming (Video)

VIDEO: John Kerry tells starving Africans to refrain from creating new farms because they’d contribute to global warming (Ice Age Now, Aug 14, 2014):

A glimpse into Kerry’s twisted priorities.

When leaders from Africa and the U.S. convened in Washington, D.C., to discuss a wide range of issues affecting African nations, Secretary of State John Kerry gave us a glimpse into his twisted priorities.

During the “Resilience and Food Security in a Changing Climate” panel, Kerry noted that Africa faces a starvation problem. With thousands going to bed hungry each night, it’s undeniable that one of Africa’s largest problems is starvation.

Kerry claimed that “8,000 children die every day” and that one in four children face chronic hunger.

However, just minutes later, Kerry reminded the crowd that despite the starving children in Africa, they ought to refrain from creating new farms because it contributes to “climate change.”

“Certain agricultural processes can actually release carbon pollution and actually contribute to the problem in the first place.”

Warnings about ocean acidification are completely misleading – and deliberately so

Warnings about ocean acidification are completely misleading – and deliberately so (Ice Age Now, Aug 09, 2014):

No honest chemist would claim the dissolving of the entire atmospheric mass of CO2 at once would make much difference to the pH of the oceans.”– Rosco Mac

Warnings about ocean acidification are completely misleading – and deliberately so

By Rosco Mac

Firstly, carbon dioxide in water is a very weak acid, whilst the ocean is a very stable buffer with a pH averaging around 8. The concentration of enough CO2 to significantly reduce that pH will not come from the atmosphere – there isn’t enough CO2 in the atmosphere to make much difference.

The mass of the oceans is 268 times the mass of the atmosphere

I can say this with confidence because the mass of the oceans is 268 times the mass of the atmosphere, and CO2 is currently only 0.04% of that.

No honest chemist would claim the dissolving of the entire atmospheric mass of CO2 at once would make much difference to the pH of the oceans.

Secondly, it is well known that an increase in temperature will reduce the solubility of CO2 in water. (The oceans are known as a carbon sink. When they’re cold, they absorb CO2 from the atmosphere. When they warm, they release CO2 into the atmosphere. ed)

Warm up a carbonated drink and see what happens

Warm water naturally contains less CO2 than cold water. Warm up a carbonated drink and see what happens – the CO2 comes out of solution.

The oceans are outgassing CO2 due to the slight warming trend observed. The cause of this trend IS NOT known !

I find alarmists stunningly contradictory and amusing.

They point out the slight increasing trend in temperatures as alarming !

They point out the side effect of this slight increasing trend in temperatures – rising sea levels – as alarming !

Then they claim man’s CO2 emissions will increase ocean acidification as alarming.

But you simply cannot have it both ways – that is an “Inconvenient Truth” !!

Either the oceans are getting warmer and the CO2 concentration in seawater is decreasing – which means that ocean acidification by manmade CO2 from the atmosphere is complete BS !!

– or –

The manmade CO2 from the atmosphere IS dissolving in cooler oceans causing ocean acidification – which means that warming oceans and the associated sea level rises are BS !!

Take your pick – REAL SCIENCE says you can’t have both.

It’s All About the Money, Not The Climate

It Is All About The Money

It’s about the Money, Not the Climate (Ice Age Now, Aug 08, 2014):

“When you hear the President or a member of Congress talk about the climate, they are really talking about the scheme to generate revenue from it through taxation…” – Alan Caruba

Oscar Wilde (1854-1900), the Irish poet and dramatist, wrote “Pray don’t talk to me about the weather. Whenever people talk to me about the weather, I always feel quite certain that they mean something else.”

These days, when some world leader or politician speaks of the climate—the weather is what is happening right now wherever you are—they are not talking about sunshine or rain. They are talking about a devilishly obscene way of raising money by claiming that it is humans that are threatening the climate with everything they do, from turning on the lights to driving anywhere.

If the history of ice ages is any guide, we could literally be on the cusp of a new one.

Astrophysicist: The Idea That Man Controls CO2 Is ‘Delusional Nonsense’

The idea that man controls CO2 is “delusional nonsense,” says astrophysicist  (Ice Age Now, Aug 6, 2014):

Video – “Satellite data shows clearly that for the last ten years temperatures have been falling,” says Piers Corbyn.

Astrophysicist Piers Corbyn on “The Myth of Man-Made Global Warming”

Piers Corbyn has received international acclaim for the accuracy of his long-range climate forecasts. Although we hear daily of a scientific consensus to the contrary, what does Piers make of mankind’s alleged role in affecting the climate on Earth?

Piers presented at the recent Electric Universe conference in Albuquerque New Mexico, which featured investigators from wide ranging disciplines who had come to a common conclusion. Namely, that the key to understanding so-called climate change is the electromagnetic connection between Earth and the Sun.

GISS-Satellite-Data
“Satellite data shows clearly that for the last ten years temperatures have been falling,” says astrophysicist Piers Corbyn.

Here are some of the highlights of his talk.

“Carbon dioxide does not drive climate,” says Piers. “Rather, temperature changes in the oceans, in the long run, drive carbon dioxide levels.”

“There is no actual evidence for the CO2 theory. Termites emit ten times more CO2 than man. The idea that termites, or cows, or whatever you have, are going to hold still while man does his thing is completely absurd. The idea that man controls CO2 is actually delusional nonsense.”

“Climate has changed for millions of years. The only thing that’s different now is that man is claiming he’s doing it.”

What drives our climate? asks Piers. “Solar activity.”

When you’ve got periods of low solar activity, like now, two things happen. One thing is that the jet stream on average goes farther south, and the other is that it swings more wildly north to south. And that means we get much bigger extremes in temperature.

Central to Piers predictions is the recognition that the sun and earth are connected electromagnetically.

4,000-year-old forests beneath receding glaciers prove that it was much warmer than today (Ice Age Now, Aug 07, 2014):
