China Warns The World: America Is The “Greatest Threat To Peace & Stability”

China Warns The World: America Is The “Greatest Threat To Peace & Stability”:

It is no secret that the relationship between the United States and China has been strained for quite some time. Earlier this month when the US sailed its guided missile destroyer the USS William P. Lawrence within 12 nautical miles of Chinese-occupied Fiery Cross Reef, it ended in China scrambling of two fighter jets and three warships to shadow the destroyer and convince it to leave the area.

The US admitted that it sailed the USS William P. Lawrence by the disputed island in order to “challenge excessive maritime claims” made by China. In turn, China had this to say about the US effort: “This action by the U.S. side threatened China’s sovereignty and security interests, endangered the staff and facilities on the reef, and damaged regional peace and stability.

Forget Chinese Commodity Speculators, Meet North America’s “Moms-and-Millennials” Oil Day-Traders:

We showed you the “bored” Chinese workers who traded commodity futures for excitement – Now, it’s time to meet North America’s oil day-traders… moms-and millenials. The recent volatility in crude oil has gotten the attention of people who do not list trading as their day job, but are randomly attempting to day trade oil anyway…“I just thought, let’s throw a couple of hundred dollars in it…and try it out…I just enjoy the risk and the thrill of the market in general.”

Venezuela’s Hospitals Collapse Into Ruin

Dirty-Poor-Child-Unkempt-Hair

When socialism takes hold, hospitals collapse into ruin… Disturbing photos from Venezuela show the human cost of bad government:

Sen. Bernie Sanders, the first openly socialist U.S. presidential candidate, won’t become the Democratic Party’s nominee, no matter how much his supporters kick and scream about the unfair advantages awarded his chief rival for the Oval Office, Hillary Clinton.

But sometimes dreams don’t come true, and for a reason: Some entity somewhere is trying to spare Sanders supporters (and the rest of the American public) the pain and agony and despair that socialism would bring to the United States.

Medvedev orders extension of foreign food ban through 2017

Medvedev orders extension of foreign food ban through 2017:

Restrictions against countries that joined the anti-Russian sanctions will be prolonged till the end of 2017, announced Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. He instructed the government to prepare the relevant documents.

“Our agricultural companies have repeatedly asked to continue the embargo on agricultural products from countries that had imposed sanctions against Russia or later joined them. I ordered draft proposals on extending the countermeasures not for a year but until the end of 2017,” Medvedev said while meeting with members of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) on Friday.

The Prime Minister added that Russian agricultural companies will get an opportunity for long-term investment planning which they have asked for.

Western countries have lost around $9.3 billion since the introduction of the Russian food ban, according to a report from the Russian government’s analytical center.

The United States and the European Union initially introduced anti-Russian sanctions in 2014 after Moscow was accused of supporting rebels in eastern Ukraine and annexing Crimea. Sanctions targeted Russia’s financial, energy, and defense sectors, as well as some government officials, businessmen, and public figures.

Moscow responded by imposing an embargo on agricultural produce, food and raw materials against countries that joined anti-Russian sanctions. Since then the sides have repeatedly broadened and extended the sanctions.

However, lately some European policymakers and businesses have become increasingly skeptical about the sanctions, pointing out that they have proven to be politically ineffective and economically harmful for both Russia and European countries.

Brexit would cost British consumers an extra £9billion in trading costs alone and UK would have to negotiate new terms with 161 countries, warns World Trade Organisation

Brexit would cost British consumers an extra £9billion in trading costs alone and UK would have to negotiate new terms with 161 countries, warns World Trade Organisation:

Britain would be hit with an extra £9 billion in trading costs if voters back Brexit in June’s referendum, the head of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) has warned.

Roberto Azevedo said Brexit would leave ministers with the unprecedented task of having to strike new trade deals with 161 countries, warning that Britain would not be allowed to simply ‘cut and paste’ existing EU terms.

Thousands of new deals would have to be agreed on tariff and quota levels on agricultural produce, for example, while officials would also have to negotiate new terms for access to international markets currently enjoyed by British banks and the UK’s booming service industry.

‘Pretty much all of the UK’s trade [with the world] would somehow have to be negotiated,’ Mr Azevedo told the Financial Times.

Caught on camera: US Special Forces on ISIS frontline in Syria:

US Special Forces operatives have been photographed fighting alongside the Kurdish militia in northern Syria in a drive against the Islamic State-held city of Raqqa. The Pentagon insists the Americans are there in “advise and assist” capacity only, however.

A photographer for Agence France-Presse (AFP) took pictures of the American special operatives in what The Washington Post identified as the village of Fatisah, roughly 30 miles (48 km) north of Raqqa. Kurdish fighters from the People’s Protection Units (YPG) – part of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighting against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in northern Syria – identified the men as Americans.

The SDF launched a push against the IS capital this week, following the secret visit to the northern Syrian region by General Joseph Votel, head of the US Central Command (CENTCOM).

Special Operations troops assaulted downtown Tampa … all to thunderous applause

Special Operations troops assaulted downtown Tampa … all to thunderous applause:

TAMPA — On Wednesday, Special Operations troops from more than a dozen countries jumped out of helicopters, rappelled from buildings and expended hundreds of rounds of ammunition as they attempted to rescue the mayor of this Florida city.

The operation was, of course, an exercise, but it was also a public spectacle for a force that has tried desperately to remain in the shadows despite now being at the forefront of America’s wars.

Aside from U.S. Special Operations forces, including Navy SEALs, Marine Raiders and Army Green Berets, countries such as Ireland and Jordan also participated in the exercise. Many of the participants covered their faces, and only a select few were allowed to speak to the media afterward.

A jury voting 10-2 in St. Louis found Monsanto, Pfizer, Solutia, and Pharmacia must pay the plaintiffs and assessed an additional $29 million in punitive damages against Monsanto for its continued selling of polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs, after the compound had been banned, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. MPs warn voters being ‘conned’ as Brussels keeps plans for EU army secret until after referendum

MPs warn voters being ‘conned’ as Brussels keeps plans for EU army secret until after referendum:

British voters are being “conned” by Brussels officials who are keeping plans for a European army secret until after the referendum, leading Tories have claimed.

Liam Fox, the former defence secretary who served under David Cameron, told The Telegraph that the ambitions showed the EU is wedded to the “dangerous fantasy” of creating a single defence force.

Another eurosceptic Tory MP said voters were being “deceived” and “hoodwinked” about the true scale of the EU’s drive to create a single army.

The backlash came as it emerged plans to move towards the creation of a European army are being kept secret from British voters until the day after next month’s referendum.

Erdogan Unleashes More Threats on Europe as EU-Turkey Deal Falters:

The arrangement for Ankara to carry the weight of administering millions of Syrian refugees collapses as Europe refuses to offer Turkish citizens visa-free travel and Turkey slides into Fascism.

An historic deal between the European Union and Turkey detailing the administration of Syrian refugees continues to unravel amid concerns by Brussels regarding Ankara’s quickly deteriorating record on human rights.

Recently, European leaders nearly unanimously signaled an unwillingness to approve visa-free travel for Turkish residents within the Schengen zone, citing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s persecution of domestic opposition and dissent. Europe’s decision to retreat from offering Turkey visa-free travel, a critical component of the EU-Turkey refugee negotiations, tipped Erdogan into a fit of rage on Tuesday.

Speaking at a World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul, Erdogan threatened to unleash a flood of refugees into Europe if the EU failed to approve his visa-free travel demands.

Still thinking of going to France this weekend? Half the country’s petrol stations have run dry, riots break out in Paris and human traffickers are waging war in Calais

Still thinking of going to France this weekend? Half the country’s petrol stations have run dry, riots break out in Paris and human traffickers are waging war in Calais:

  • Up to half of the country’s petrol stations are now empty
  • North and north-west areas particularly badly affected
  • Thousands preparing to make trip to France for bank holiday
  • RAC: Cancel journeys unless vehicle has fuel for entire trip
  • Riot police were sent in to try and lift blockades of fuel refineries
  • 40 migrants injured at ‘Jungle’ camp during people smuggler mass brawl

As thousands prepare to make trips across the Channel for the bank holiday weekend, British motorists were advised to cancel trips to France today as fuel pumps ran dry and violent industrial action against employment reform spread across the country.

Up to half of the country’s 12,000-odd petrol stations are now empty, as riot police were sent in to try and lift blockades of fuel refineries.

By this afternoon, all but one of the blockades manned by union activists had been cleared away, a government spokesman said, adding that the situation is ‘improving everywhere, all over the country’.

It came as French Prime Minister Manuel Valls warned that ‘this country is dying from its inability to reform’.

Meanwhile, a mass brawl involving people smugglers at the ‘Jungle’ refugee camp in Calais left 40 injured, including a young female aid worker, yesterday.
