– Trump Storms To Incredible 33 Point Lead Ahead Of Super Tuesday:

Going into Super Tuesday, the GOP political establishment is on the ropes. If either Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz aren’t able to put up a strong showing, then the nomination is Trump’s. Plain and simple.

To be sure, Rubio has gained some ground over the past several days. In the last Republican debate, the Florida senator went on the offensive against Trump and hasn’t let up since. Over the weekend, Rubio called Trump a “con man.” The frontrunner has also faced questions about his tax returns, a civil suit related to Trump University, his perceived unwillingness to disavow the KKK, and a litany of other issues.

On Sunday, Trump inadvertenly retweeted a quote from the fascist dictator Benito Mussolini.

But while Rubio is resurgent, he needs a win. Badly. The senator has yet to carry a state and as always, it’s not at all clear that voters are rational when it comes to Trump. That is, Trump’s support isn’t based on the electorate’s careful consideration of the issues. It’s based on a kind of groundswell of nationalism and anger that the billionaire in many ways embodies. There’s every reason to be afraid of Trump, but he’s managed to make voters even more afraid of where the country is headed if he’s not the next president.

Donald Trump is a nasty, nasty guy. And we don’t need nasty people in the United States. Of course, I’m not nasty, and I would never call someone nasty, cause I’m great. This article is gonna be great, and you’re gonna have a great time reading it. It’s gonna be a lot of fun. Let me tell you, we’re gonna make media great again.

Unfortunately for America, the above hyperbole — expressed at a fourth-grade reading level — is all is takes to gain the support of a distracted population in 2016.

Donald Trump, the presidential front-runner of the Republican Party, has repeatedly hurled insults in numerous directions (admittedly, the disparaging remarks are frequently accurate, as he is typically referring to bureaucrats or individuals in the media). At the same time, however, Trump often acts as if he is above stooping to the same classless level he has stooped to numerous times before.

– Confident Trump Says “Could Shoot Somebody” & Still Win:

Did Donald Trump just jump the shark with his extreme comments? While the correlation between the un-PC-ness of The Donald’s comments and his poll success is high, his latest statement may be too much for some…

“I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters,” Trump said at a campaign rally in Iowa.

While he may well be correct in his statement, we suspect the mainstream media will have a field day with this one as the Iowa and New Hampshire caucuses loom.

We suspect though that the Brits will certainly ban him from entry if he did.

Of course, as we detailed previously, Trump’s success is not as much his doing as a symptom of growing dissatisfaction in America. In Chronicles, in 1996, Francis, a paleoconservative and proud son of the South, wrote:

“[S]ooner or later, as the globalist elites seek to drag the country into conflicts and global commitments, preside over the economic pastoralization of the United States, manage the delegitimization of our own culture, and the dispossession of our people, and disregard or diminish our national interest and national sovereignty, a nationalist reaction is almost inevitable and will probably assume populist form when it arrives. The sooner it comes, the better.”

What we saw through a glass darkly then, we now see face to face.

Is not Trump the personification of the populist-nationalist revolt Francis predicted?

And no matter what, Trump is not the last of the populist-nationalists.

Given his success, other Republicans will emulate him. Already, other candidates are incorporating his message. The day Francis predicted was coming appears to have arrived.

He also understands that he has built a political brand which garners momentum from the very type of controversy that would sink any other candidate in the field.

When you put those two things together, you have a recipe for bombastic rhetoric designed to hold the electorate in a perpetual state of shock and embed a tiny voice that says “you know, maybe he’s right” in the back of voters’ collective mind.

– “We’re At War, Get It Through Your Head”, Trump Doubles Down During Combative Follow Up Interviews:

12 hours after his dramatic campaign statement to shut out Muslims arrivals into the US, Donald Trump doubled down and in a series of interviews early on Tuesday, he repeatedly told anchors such as CNN’s Chris Cuomo that “we’re at war – get it through your head” in his latest heated exchange, during which he reminded America how quickly people have forgotten “World Trade Center #1 and World Trade Center #2.”

One thing that Trump did stress throughout the media blitz is that his plan to prevent Muslims from entering the U.S. was “temporary.” and in a follow up interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America” he clarified that American Muslims living abroad could return to the U.S., following conflicting statements by his campaign yesterday: when asked if Trump’s proposal applied to U.S. citizens living abroad, a Trump spokesperson had told The Hill on Monday that Trump’s proposal applied to “everyone.”

In the aftermath of yesterday’s announcement, there has been a surge of media outlets comparing Trump to Hitler (as seen below).
