Nearly 300 People Shot in Chicago in January, Reminding Us How Well Gun Control Works

Nearly 300 People Shot in Chicago in January, Reminding Us How Well Gun Control Works:

Chicago had an abnormally violent January to kick off 2016, with 292 people shot and 51 people killed. It is being reported as the deadliest January in Chicago in 16 years, with a 75 percent increase in homicides compared to last January. Most of it is gang-related according to police.

Somehow even though it is the third largest city in the country, Chicago continues to be home to more violent crime than either New York or LA.

Now, when you consider the fact that Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation, how does this bode for all those people including our president who are continuing to push for more and more gun control? (Yeah, that question was rhetorical.)

AND NOW: British Police Are Breaking Into Homes To Highlight Robbery Risk

British Police Are Breaking Into Homes to Highlight Robbery Risk:

British police may not have the same reputation for brutality as American police do, but like our cops, they sure seem to think they are above the law. Police in the city of Coventry have apparently started breaking into homes without any kind of warrant. The reason? So they can let homeowners know how easy it would be for burglars to break in.

Caught On Tape: Chinese Investors Find Out They Got Fleeced By A $7 Billion Ponzi Scheme

Caught On Tape: Chinese Investors Find Out They Got Fleeced By A $7 Billion Ponzi Scheme:

When it comes to all things China, the old adage “go big or go home” certainly applies.

The country’s monumental expansion in the wake of the financial crisis was financed by borrowing on a massive scale, as the country’s debt burden rose from “just” $7 trillion in 2007 to more than $28 trillion today. That’s big.

Last year, at the peak of the country’s equity bubble, margin financing outstanding amounted to 18% of the SHCOMP’s free float market cap. Also big.

Austria to deport 50,000 asylum seekers by 2019, will offer €500 to those leaving voluntarily

Austria to deport 50,000 asylum seekers by 2019, will offer €500 to those leaving voluntarily:

Austria plans to deport 50,000 failed asylum seekers within the next four years, after Vienna MPs last week approved a bill toughening admission policies for migrants.

“I think 50,000 is realistic [in terms of a number to deport],” Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz stated.

“But at the same time, it is clear that many of the refugees who have come to us will stay here. We therefore need to stop the influx,” he told the Austria Press Agency (APA).

Major Study: Antidepressants Double Risk of Suicide and Aggression In Young People … Drug Companies Covered Up Stats

Major Study: Antidepressants Double Risk of Suicide and Aggression In Young People … Drug Companies Covered Up Stats:

We’ve previously documented that the new generation of antidepressants increase suicides … and may be contributing to school shootings.

The Telegraph reports this week that a major new study confirms that antidepressants can double the risk of suicide and aggression in young people … and that the drug companies have been covering up the stats:

Antidepressants can raise the risk of suicide, the biggest ever review has found, as pharmaceutical companies were accused of failing to report side-effects and even deaths linked to the drugs.

An analysis of 70 trials of the most common antidepressants – involving more than 18,000 people – found they doubled the risk of suicide and aggressive behaviour in under 18s.

The End Of Plan A: The Big Reset & $8000 Gold

FYI.

The End Of Plan A: The Big Reset & $8000 Gold:

Willem Middlekoop, author of The Big Reset – The War On Gold And The Financial Endgame, believes the current international monetary system has entered its last term and is up for a reset. Having predicted the collapse of the real estate market in 2006, (while Ben Bernanke didn’t), Middlekoop asks (rhetorically) -can the global credit expansion ‘experiment’ from 2002 – 2008, which Bernanke completely underestimated, be compared to the global QE ‘experiment’ from 2008 – present? – the answer is worrisome. In the following must-see interview with Grant Williams, he shares his thoughts on the future of the global monetary system and why the revaluation of Gold is inevitable

Middlekoop predicts the real estate crash in 2006… (ensure English Subtitles – Closed Captions – are enabled)

Zika Virus Threatens “Disaster In Rio” Olympics As WHO Declares Global Emergency:

From the initial discovery in the heart of Ugandan forest darkness to mysterious genetically-modified Mosquitoes in Brazil, the newest threat to human health (most notably pregnant women) is the ominous-sounding Zika virus. The epidemic is spreading from its epicenter in Brazil – threatening disaster at the Olympics with “female athletes to consider participation “very carefully”“, to Colombia (with 2100 pregant women infected), and further north in America with CDC confirming 6 cases in Texas.

As we previously introduced, The World Health Organization is convening an Emergency Committee under International Health Regulations today, concerning the Zika virus ‘explosive’ spread throughout the Americas. The virus reportedly has the potential to reach pandemic proportions — possibly around the globe. But understandingwhy this outbreak happened is vital to curbing it. As the WHO statement said:

Meet China’s Latest $1.8 Trillion “Problem”

China’s mid-tier banks are piling up exposure to the riskiest subset of borrowers at a time when economic fundamentals are deteriorating on a near daily basis. Meanwhile, this exposure is being carried on a line item that allows the banks to avoid provisioning for the losses that will almost certainly materialize in the not-so-distant future. At one bank, this one line item is larger than the entire Philippine banking system.

Meet China’s Latest $1.8 Trillion “Problem”:

Last summer we outlined how Chinese banks obscure trillions in credit risk.

The powers that be in Beijing aren’t particularly keen on allowing the banking sector to report “real” data on souring loans – especially given the fragile state of the country’s economy. In some cases, the Politburo will pressure banks to simply roll over bad debt, effectively kicking the can.

In addition, banks carry around 40% of their credit risk outside of “official loans.” Here’s what Fitch had to say last year:

So It Begins: Bloomberg Op-Ed Calls For An End Of Cash:

In a moment of curious serendipity, a little over 90 minutes after we showed what a dystopian, centrally-planned, cashless society unleashed in a negative interest rate world would look like (“by forcing people and companies to convert their paper money into bank deposits, the hope is that they can be persuaded (coerced?) to spend that money rather than save it because those deposits will carry considerable costs”), and briefly after we laid out the countless recent warnings from “very serious people” that cash is evil and should be banned:

… while warning to await a full-on coopted media assault about the dangers of cash “which is an anacrhonysm from a bygone era, and that the world will be so much better if only everyone dutifully exchanges the physical currency in their pocket for digital, traceable, and deletable 1s and 0s”, none other than Bloomberg issued an editorial Op-Ed in which it had one simple message: Bring On the Cashless Future.”

Hillary Clinton: ‘I’m Asking People To Hold Me Accountable’ (Video)

Hillary: “I’m Asking People To Hold Me Accountable”:

As we anxiously await the results out of Iowa, where we’ll get the first real test of whether “protest” candidates Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders have a legitimate shot at upending America’s political establishment, Hillary Clinton is fighting to convince the electorate that the scandal involving her use of a private e-mail server to transmit state secrets is largely a distraction dreamed up by the GOP to derail what might otherwise have been a largely uncontested run for The White House.

Last week, the State Department admitted that 22 of the e-mails Clinton sent on her private server were indeed “top secret” and would not be released to the public. 18 additional e-mails from Clinton to President Obama are also being withheld. “The disclosure of the top secret emails, three days before Iowans vote in the first-in-the-nation caucuses, is certain to fuel the political debate over the unclassified computer server,” The New York Times wrote on Friday. “The top secret emails lent credence to criticism by Mrs. Clinton’s rivals in the presidential race of her handling of classified information while she was secretary of state from 2009 to 2013.”

Clinton Gets $6 Million From Soros As Money Race Winners Revealed Ahead Of Iowa Caucus:

On Sunday night we got a look at the 2015 campaign reports for US presidential candidates as the deadline for FEC filings came and went. There were a number of notable donations, but the headline grabber was George Soros who in the second half of last year gave $6 million to Hillary Clinton’s super PAC. Meanwhile, Donald Trump spent nearly $1 million on hats.

“This Is Much Larger Than Subprime” – Here Are The Legendary Hedge Funds Fighting The Chinese Central Bank

“This Is Much Larger Than Subprime” – Here Are The Legendary Hedge Funds Fighting The Chinese Central Bank:

One month ago, we first revealed that for one prominent winner from the subprime crisis, Hayman Capital’s Kyle Bass, “the greatest investment opportunity right now” is to short the Chinese Yuan: as he explained “given our views on credit contraction in Asia, and in China in particular, let’s say they are going to go through a banking loss cycle like we went through during the Great Financial Crisis, there’s one thing that is going to happen: China is going to have to dramatically devalue its currency.” He even went so far as to give a timeframe: “we think it’s going to be in the next 12-18 months.”

Then, during the Davos boondoggle, none other than the man who broke the Bank of England, George Soros, noted that he too is shorting the Yuan, which in turn prompted China’s communist party mouthpiece, the People’s Daily to officially warn Soros to back off adding in a petulant, schoolyard bully-ish voice “You Cannot Possibly Succeed, Ha, Ha.” Yes, China really said that.

Dr. Paul Craig Roberts: The West Is Reduced To Looting Itself

Dr. Paul Craig Roberts was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury during President Reagan’s first term. He was Associate Editor of the Wall Street Journal. He has held numerous academic appointments, including the William E. Simon Chair, Center for Strategic and International Studies, Georgetown University, and Senior Research Fellow, Hoover Institution, Stanford University.

The West Is Reduced To Looting Itself — Paul Craig Roberts:

I, Michael Hudson, John Perkins, and a few others have reported the multi-pronged looting of peoples by Western economic institutions, principally the big New York Banks with the aid of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Third World countries were and are looted by being inticed into development plans for electrification or some such purpose. The gullible and trusting governments are told that they can make their countries rich by taking out foreign loans to implement a Western-presented development plan, with the result being sufficient tax revenues from economic development to service the foreign loan.

Is The Zika Virus A Smokescreen For Vaccine Induced Birth Defects?

Is the Zika virus a smokescreen for Vaccine induced birth defects?:

In the digital age of fast-travelling information, news simply flies. It is almost impossible to keep up with every little detail at once, which is why news needs constant updates to add unknown details which provide better perspective and context. These two characteristics are what ultimately provide readers a change to understand reality.

For the past six months, we have followed as many developments as possible about the scary Zika virus, which health authorities have identified as the culprit of a growing number of cases of microcephaly in South and Central America. In the last few weeks, people allegedly infected with Zika have appeared elsewhere.

French Security Left Blind During Paris Attacks

I have received a report from European security that there was a massive cyber attack on French systems 48 hours prior to and during the Paris attacks. Among other things, the attack took down the French mobile data network and blinded police surveillance The attack was not a straightforward DDOS attack but a sophisticated attack that targeted a weakness in infrastructure hardware.

Such an attack is beyond the capability of most organizations and requires capability that is unlikely to be in ISIL’s arsenal. An attack on this scale is difficult to pull off without authorities getting wind of it. The coordination required suggests state involvement.

Europol: 10,000 Refugee Children Are Missing, Pan-European Gangs Targeting Minors For Sex Work And Slavery

Migrant children

10,000 refugee children are missing, says Europol:

The EU’s criminal intelligence agency warns pan-European gangs are targeting minors for sex work and slavery

At least 10,000 unaccompanied child refugees have disappeared after arriving in Europe, according to the EU’s criminal intelligence agency. Many are feared to have fallen into the hands of organised trafficking syndicates.

In the first attempt by law enforcement agencies to quantify one of the most worrying aspects of the migrant crisis, Europol’s chief of staff told the Observer that thousands of vulnerable minors had vanished after registering with state authorities.

Is Germany Paying African Nations To Take Back Rejected Refugees?

Is Germany Paying African Nations To Take Back Rejected Refugees?:

As Der Freitag reports (via Google Translate), if the German authorities do not get rid of a refugee, you can just change his nationality. African embassies are paid for their help…

Joseph Koroma does not understand to this day why he was deported to Nigeria – a country in which he had never before set foot. When he fled to Germany in 2006, he applied for asylum and told his escape story: He had been persecuted in Sierra Leone, by supporters of the Poro secret society that controls whole regions in West Africa. They killed his father and threatened also to murder, unless he would join the Confederation him.
