15 minutes on your cell phone can alter brain structure and function, new study reveals:

A new clinical study has found that just 15 minutes of cell phone talk time radiation exposure can alter the structure and function of the brain, including brain wave activity that is connected to cognition, mood and behavior.

Thirty-one healthy females took part in the study, published in PLOS ONE; all participants were measured twice. On one of the days, the mobile phone was attached to the women’s ears with a sham phone being placed on their chests. On the other day, the mobile phone was attached to the chest and the sham phone to the ear. During each assessment, EEG activity and radio-frequency radiation were recorded.

South Africa Ministry Appeals Board Rejects GM Potatoes

South Africa Ministry Appeals Board Rejects GM Potatoes:

The African Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) has welcomed the recent decision made by the Minister of Agriculture, Water Affairs and Fisheries and an Appeal Board rejecting the commercialization of genetically modified (GM) potatoes in South Africa.

The ACB with the support of the South African public, vigorously campaigned over a number of years against the Agricultural Research Council (ARC’s) bid to bring GM potatoes, also known as “SpuntaG2,” to the South African market. The potatoes were genetically engineered to produce a toxin to kill the potato tuber moth. The ACB has always contended that the GM potato posed unacceptable risks to human and animal health, the environment and the farming community. GM Regulators in SA, the Executive Council: GMO Act, agreed and rejected ARC’s application in 2009, citing a long list of biosafety, health and socio-economic concerns. These were challenged by the ARC in an appeal, which they have now definitively lost.

US Drones Responsible For More Civilian Deaths in Yemen than Al-Qaeda

US Drones Responsible For More Civilian Deaths in Yemen than Al Qaeda:

According to a U.N. report published last week, U.S. drone strikes have killed roughly 40 Yemeni civilians in the past year. The figure is 60% greater than the number of civilians killed by al Qaeda in that same period. al Qaeda is reportedly responsible for 24 civilian deaths.

The government’s ongoing drone strikes in Yemen are little-known to the general American public. Many Americans still believe the U.S. military is only involved in Iraq and Afghanistan. In reality, the military is running offensive operations in  Libya, Somalia, Pakistan, Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries in the region.

Millions of job seekers’ fingerprints will now be searched for criminal investigations, says FBI

Millions of job seekers’ fingerprints will now be searched for criminal investigations, says FBI:

For years the FBI has performed federal criminal background checks for employers and state governments, amassing tens of millions of biometric records on people accused of no crime. If you want to be a lawyer, teacher, or even bike messenger in many parts of the United States, you’ll need to submit your fingerprints to the FBI. Every single federal employee must submit their prints before employment. Until recently, the FBI claimed it would not search these civil prints when conducting criminal print matching; a wall between the civil and criminal fingerprint databases kept these distinct sets of information separate, the Bureau claimed. But in February 2015, that all changed—very quietly.

TSA Agent Caught Stealing From Passenger’s Wallet at NYC Airport Checkpoint:

TSA agents don’t get enough credit. They aren’t just experts at sexually molesting airport passengers, although they are very good at that. They have also become well known for outright theft.

Here’s the latest from the New York Post:

A TSA agent at JFK Airport was busted when he was caught stealing money out of a passenger’s wallet at a security checkpoint, authorities said.

Joe Bangay, 37, was processing passengers at Terminal 1 around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when he swiped $61 in cash out of the passenger’s wallet, according to police.

In New York City, Workers with Full Time Jobs Are Living in Homeless Shelters:

Puleo added he has “never seen” the homeless situation this bad.

Dilcy Benn, president of the union’s Local 1505, said more than 100 of the 1,000 parks workers she represents are living in shelters and at least another four, including Torres, are living on the streets on Staten Island and The Bronx.

One of the main data points that pundits and politicians who claim there is an “economy recovery” point to is jobs created. Please tell me, what good is a job if it can’t earn you a roof over your head?

Europe Will Force Countries To Accept Refugee Quotas As Migrant “Dictat” Approved:

“The dissenters were the ministers representing the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. Under European law, three of the countries — the Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia — would be required to accept migrants against their will, said one European Union diplomat, who spoke on condition of anonymity shortly after the vote.”

IS defectors ‘disillusioned with killing Muslims’

IS defectors ‘disillusioned with killing Muslims’:

London (AFP) – A growing number of “disillusioned” Islamic State fighters are defecting from the jihadist group and could be used by governments to deter potential recruits, a report published Monday said.

At least 58 people have left the group and publicly spoken about their defection since January 2014, according to the report by the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence (ISCR) at King’s College London.

The study said that 17 fighters were reported to have defected in June, July and August alone, adding that they represent only a “small fraction” of former fighters, with many too scared to come forward.

PBOC Devalues Yuan, Injects More Liquidity As China’s Banking Regulator Admits “Bad Loan Situation Is More Severe Than 2008”:

AsiaPac stocks are opening mixed after the US session gains. Perhaps the biggest news of the evening is, as China’s bankiong regulator has been meeting with foreign banks to express concerns over lack of risk control around non-performing loans. As CBRC said, rather stunningly honest for a government entity, “the current situation is more severe than the time in 2008 during the financial crisis.” With stocks up while commodities (Zinc) limit-down, PBOC injects another CNY50 bn and devalued the Yuan fix for the 2nd day in a row.

Elderly Japanese Population Hits New Record – Demographic Death-Rattle Continues

Elderly Japanese Population Hits New Record – Demographic Death-Rattle Continues:

With Abenomics seemingly a total failure (aside from managing to collapse the currency and living standards of the population – worst Misery Index in 33 years) the demographic crisis that Japan faces just got more crisis-er. As Japan’s population continues to fall (4th year in a row), what makes the situation worse, as NHKWorld reports, is that there are now a record 33.8 million people over the age of 65 (a record 26.7%), more than double the number under the age of 14 (16.2 million). The ministry says the population will likely continue declining for some time as fewer babies are born and society ages… and as America is beginning to see as retirement dream remain elusive, the number of working elderly increased for 11 years in a row to reach a new record figure of 6.81 million in 2014.

Polio vaccines causing worldwide surge in childhood paralysis cases

Polio vaccines causing worldwide surge in childhood paralysis cases:

In April 2012, Aaron Dykes of Truthstream Media reported that statistically speaking, polio had been eradicated in India, but the statistics don’t tell the whole story.

In fact, he noted, there was a spike in “non-polio acute flaccid paralysis (NPAFP) – the very types of crippling problems it was hoped would disappear with polio but which have instead flourished from a new cause.” How could that happen in a nation where polio had ostensibly been eradicated?

Quite simply, Dykes noted, the new spike was actually coming from the oral polio vaccine.

He further reported:
