Lisa Bosia Mirra is the founder of a refugee aid organisation and a councillor for the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland – the second largest party in the Swiss parliament and the only left-wing party with representatives in the Swiss Federal Council.

The Muslim group behind this idiotic demand known as the “Secondos,” began a nationwide campaign in October to urge Swiss citizens to change the flag to something that is “less offensive” to Muslims.

Ivica Petrusic, the vice president of Second@s Plus, a lobbying group that represents mostly Muslim second-generation foreigners in Switzerland (who colloquially are known as secondos) says the group will launch a nationwide campaign in October to ask Swiss citizens to consider adopting a flag that is less offensive to Muslim immigrants.

Zurich city council said yesterday that a poster showing missile-like minarets on a Swiss flag can be displayed ahead of a national referendum on whether to ban the building of minarets at mosques in Switzerland.

Zurich followed Lucerne and Geneva in arguing that the posters, which also feature a veiled woman with ‘menacing eyes’, were protected by free speech.

Basel and Lausanne have banned them saying they paint a ‘racist, disrespectful and dangerous image’ of Islam.

The posters, which urge a ban on the building of minarets, are part of a campaign by the nationalist Swiss People’s Party.

This is mainly due to the migrant crisis, which probably has many Swiss citizens very concerned (and rightfully so), but also due to the financial crisis heating up again.

Six passengers were injured when a 27-year old Swiss man poured out flammable liquid inside a train in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen and set it alight, local police say. The alleged perpetrator was also armed with a knife.

African invaders flooding across the Mediterranean Sea have laid siege to the borders of France and Switzerland in their attempts to break into welfare-rich northwestern Europe.

Significant bottlenecks have formed on the French-Italian border, and Swiss authorities report that they are “overwhelmed” at the extent of the nonwhite invasion.

The most recent flare-up on the Italian-French border at the town of Ventimiglia saw several hundred African invaders physically storm the border, and then run into the sea and onto the beaches in their attempts to cross into France.

Italian Interior Minister Angelino Alfano announced that Ventimiglia had become “Europe’s new immigration emergency” and that they were trying to prevent it becoming another Calais “Jungle.”

7 Aug 2016 – The two climbers who called from a cell phone requesting a helicopter rescue have been found buried under a snowdrift on the 4,478-meter mountain after a massive storm trapped them on a perilous, narrow snowfield in the dead of night.

When the helicopter was finally able to land at the location, its hovering rotors exposed a backpack poking through the snow.

“We dug there and found them lying one on top of the other, probably trying to stay warm,” said Rescue Marshall Massimiliano Giovannini. “Sadly they were not well enough equipped for the winter conditions.”

Both had crampons, but neither man had winter gear and they were wearing only light pants and windbreakers.

The decision to serve only pork-free lunches in several schools in Basel Canton, Switzerland, has been blasted by the country’s conservatives, who accuse local authorities of giving in to religious minorities.

Four schools in the Binningen district of Basel Canton won’t have pork on their menu in the next academic year, the local council ruled last week.

But the decision was strongly condemned by the conservative Swiss People’s Party (SVP), which argued that pork sausages were an integral part of Switzerland’s cuisine and culture.

“We are outraged. When we first heard [about it] we thought we weren’t reading it right,” Susanna Keller, Swiss People’s Party representative, is cited by Basellandschaftliche Zeitung paper.

Resentment toward the EU hit a new high yesterday when the upper house of the Swiss parliament on Wednesday followed in the footsteps of Iceland, and voted to invalidate its 1992 application to join the European Union, backing an earlier decision by the lower house. The vote comes just a week before Britain decides whether to leave the EU in a referendum. Twenty-seven members of the upper house, the Council of States, voted to cancel Switzerland’s longstanding EU application, versus just 13 senators against. Two abstained the Neue Zürcher Zeitung reported.

Thomas Minder, counsellor for the state of Schaffhausen and an active promoter of the concept of “Swissness,” said he was eager to “close the topic fast and painlessly” as only “a few lunatics” may want to join the EU now, he told the newspaper.

This weekend the Swiss population was called upon to make a historic decision, when Switzerland became the first country worldwide to put the idea of free money for everyone, technically known as Unconditional Basic Income (of CHF2,500 per month for every adult man and woman, and CHF625 for every child, for doing absolutely nothing) to a vote.

As reported previously, the outcome of this referendum would set a strong precedent and establish a landmark in the evolution of the debate of handing out free money in a centrally-planned world. And as predicted, based on early vote projections it has been a landslide decision against the “free lunch.”

Opponents of the Swiss Basic Income Initiative demonstrate in front of parliament

According to BBC, some 78% of voters opposed the plan, a GFS projection for Swiss TV suggested. AFP adds that most Swiss vote in advance by post, so a large majority of ballots had already been counted, and gfs.bern put the margin of error at just plus/minus three percent.

Will the Swiss Guarantee CHF 75,000 for Every Family?

In early June the Swiss will be called upon to make a historic decision. Switzerland is the first country worldwide to put the idea of an Unconditional Basic Income (of $2,500 per month for every man, woman, and child for doing absolutely nothing) to a vote and the outcome of this referendum will set a strong precedent and establish a landmark in the evolution of this debate.

The Swiss public will have to approve or reject a change in the constitution that would allow for the introduction of an Unconditional Basic Income (UBI), or a preset, monthly minimum income to be paid out by the government to every adult and child in the country if their income falls below a specific threshold. Even though details of this proposal have been few and far between, the most commonly cited amount of this guaranteed income would be 2,500 Swiss Francs for adults and 625 francs for children. The architects of the proposal stress that this government-guaranteed payment, unlike the current benefit programs, will be entirely “no questions asked”, i.e., it will not be means-tested and will apply to every person legally living in Switzerland.

Switzerland’s intelligence service has been keeping an eye on the social media activity of around 400 people potentially linked to jihadists who could pose a threat to national security, Swiss authorities reported on Monday.
