Some frustrated California conservatives have finally found a solution for the bad schools, creeping crime and outrageously high taxes fostered by the liberal politicians who dominate the state’s legislature and executive branch.

It’s called “moving to Texas.”

Fox News reports that some conservative Californians who’re tired of “high taxes on everything from your home to your plastic bags,” “violent crime that may be seeping into…seemingly idyllic neighborhoods,” and “subpar public schools” have found refuge in the Lone Star state, with many Sunshine state expats clustering in the suburbs near Dallas. The cable network spoke with Paul Chabot, a 43-year-old native of Southern California, who twice ran for Congress as the Republican candidate in the state’s 31st Congressional district.

The Stockholm District Court on 31 July has reached a verdict in a rape-case dating back to the middle of April 2017. It all started when a 15-year-old girl went to a party in a Södermalm apartment in Stockholm. After the party, she stayed the night, keeping her clothes on. She was awakened by muttering, shortly afterwards being attacked by three men who tore her clothes off.

The convicts are the 19-year-old Ali from Somalia, the 19-year-old Christian from Sierra Leone and the 20-year-old Nasir, who is a Swedish citizen. Ali and Christian both came to Sweden when they were 15 years old, both have since received the right to permanently remain in Sweden, Christian in April 2015, Ali in March 2014.

The Russian government announced that it’s sixth-generation fighter jet will be equipped with a range of powerful new features, including laser and microwave weaponry, and advanced radar that will “significantly expand” their ability to detect enemy fighters. The jet, which is Russia’s answer to the US F-35, was first announced in 2016, according to the Washington Times. Complications surrounding the development of the F-35, which was famously plagued with delays and cost overruns, once inspired President Donald Trump to threaten to cancel the US’s order with military contractor Lockheed Martin.

Russian officials said the lasers would allow the MiG-41fighters to disable attacking missiles by destroying their tracking systems.

The theme does not hit headlines and it is not in focus of public discourse but one step is taken after another to turn the region into a springboard for staging offensive actions against Russia.

Ørland in southern Norway is being expanded to become Norway’s main air force base hosting US-made F-35 Lightnings – the stealth aircraft to become the backbone of Norwegian air power. Norway has purchased 56 of such aircraft. F-35 is an offensive, not defensive, weapon. The nuclear capable platforms can strike deep into Russia’s territory.

As Amazon flirts with a $500 billion market cap, letting Jeff Bezos try on the title of world’s richest man on for size if only for a few hours, for Amazon’s competitors it’s “everything must go” day everyday, as the bad news in the retail sector continue to pile up with the latest Fitch report that the default rate for distressed retailers spiked again in July.

According to the rating agency, the trailing 12-month high-yield default rate among U.S. retailers rose to 2.9% in mid-July from 1.8% at the end of June, after J. Crew completed a $566 million distressed-debt exchange. Meanwhile, with the shale sector flooded with Wall Street’s easy money, the overall high-yield default rate tumbled to 1.9% in the same period from 2.2% at the end of June as $4.7 billion of defaulted debt – mostly in the energy sector – rolled out of the default universe.
