– China uses the world’s fastest supercomputer to create the largest ever simulation of the universe using 10 TRILLION digital particles:

• Sunway TaihuLight modelled the birth and early expansion of the universe 
• The machine simulated the cosmos by breaking it’s mass down into particles
• It then modelled quadrillions of these particles interacting with one another
• The supercomputer used 10 million CPU cores to create its version of the universe – known as N-body simulation
