US: Chaos Erupts After Anaheim Cops Open Fire On Unarmed Crowd With Women & Children (Videos)

Chaos Erupts After Anaheim Police Open Fire on Unarmed Crowd Including Women and Children (Activist Post, July 22, 2012):

The video below marks a new low in police conduct. The final horrific incident on display allegedly was sparked by the suspicious killing of a man who witnesses say did nothing more than turn to run from police.

After “an unruly crowd” — as the reporter below conveniently states — gathered to ask questions and express anger at what was perceived to be a senseless killing, the officers further proved that those who were gathered had valid concerns about their local police force. In response, police quickly opened fire with rubber bullets, and even set a dog loose on a woman with a baby stroller. The woman was able to grab her baby before the dog arrived, but she was slightly injured, while a man can be seen in the video having his arm bitten.

Police brutality videos are legion, with many of the worst, such as the infamous torture killing of Kelly Thomas, carrying “age restricted” notices (the one below is now included). This restricted notice in many cases restricts them from going viral, even though other scenes of violence classified as “entertainment” are readily available.

This story is still developing and is under investigation, but a very strange aspect to it is mentioned by the reporter in the final moments of the video: witnesses are claiming that Anaheim officers were offering to buy the cell phone footage that some people captured.

It is up to anyone appalled by these actions to inform whomever they can that life in America continues to degenerate at an alarming pace. Police are being trained to see the American people as a threat first, and as citizens of a Constitutional Republic a very distant second. We must be prepared to demand that our local law enforcement use the utmost restraint, and punish those who have offended the honor and duty of what it means to protect and serve. In the meantime, local residents are being urged to take action by protesting in front of the Anaheim Police Department — a large group is taking shape on their Facebook Event Page HERE.

Here are additional sources – some with video footage. News anchors say angry witnesses to the deadly shootout started throwing rocks and bottles – but that is not seen in the YouTube video which takes place during day. Another point worth noting is that some of the mainstream news sources are emphasizing that these were non-lethal rounds being shot, but how could the crowd be aware of that … especially children?

The above ABC footage took place at night. Anchors say that police “accidentally” set dogs loose.

Man On Life Support After Minneapolis Cop Punches Him For ‘Talking Loud’ (Video)

Man on life support after Minneapolis cop punches him for ‘talking loud’ (The Raw Story, June 18, 2012):

Sgt. David Clifford, a member of the Minneapolis SWAT team, turned himself in to authorities on Sunday after a father of four who he reportedly “sucker punched” for talking too loud spent Father’s Day in intensive care.

Mike Archambault told KMSP-TV that his longtime friend, Brian Vander Lee, was at a restaurant in Andover on Saturday when a stranger at another table asked him to be quiet.

“He did a Superman punch,” Archambault recalled. “Brian went back, feet up in the air, and the guy landed on top of him and his head bounced off the concrete.”

Archambault said the suspected fled the scene and Vander Lee was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors performed emergency surgery for bleeding on his brain.

Witnesses identified the assailant as Sgt. David Clifford but police did not find the officer at his home. Commander Paul Sommer said that Clifford finally turned himself in at about 1:30 p.m. on Sunday after retaining a lawyer. He is expected to be charged with third-degree assault.

Greece: Parliament Backs Austerity As Rioters Burn Buildings – PM Lucas Papademos Warns Of ‘Uncontrolled Chaos’ If Country Defaults

Greek Parliament Backs Austerity as Rioters Burn Buildings (Bloomberg, Feb. 13, 2012):

Feb. 13 (Bloomberg) — Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos won parliamentary approval for austerity measures to secure an international bailout after rioters protesting the measures battled police and set fire to buildings in downtown Athens.

Police said 45 buildings were set on fire in arson attacks in central Athens last night by anti-austerity protesters including a Starbucks Corp. cafe and a bank. The blazes were near a bank that was set on fire in May 2010, killing three employees during a general strike against Greece’s first bailout package.

Tear Gas

Demonstrators tore up marble in front of parliament that they hurled with fire-bombs at police guarding the chamber. Officers in riot gear responded with tear-gas and flash grenades. Fifty officers were injured in the violence, police spokesman Takis Papapetropoulos said by telephone. The Greek Health Ministry said in an e-mailed statement that 70 people had been taken to local hospitals. Police said 67 rioters were arrested.

“Vandalism, violence and repression have no place in democracy and won’t be tolerated,” Papademos told lawmakers before the vote. “In such critical times we have no luxuries for such conflict.”

Greek prime minister warns of ‘uncontrolled chaos’ if country defaults (Telegraph, Feb. 10, 2012):

Lucas Papademos, prime minister, struggled to maintain order in parliament ahead of Sunday’s crucial vote on the budget plans which he needs to win to secure Greece’s €130bn (£109bn) bail-out.

Six ministers resigned in protest over the budget plans, which include tough spending and pension cuts, that were approved on Thursday by political leaders.

Late on Friday night, the remaining memebers of the cabinet approved the draft bill of austerity measures which the country’s parliament will vote on on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, George Karatzaferis, leader of Greek far right in coalition, walked out of the national unity government saying he would refuse to vote on Sunday. Although his party cannot block the vote, his stance rattled European markets.

“Humiliation was imposed on us. I will not tolerate this… no matter how hungry I might be,” he said. “Greece must not and cannot be outside the EU. But it can do without the German boot.”

Angry Youths Attack House Of Greek President Papoulias; Hurl Rocks, Molotov Cocktails (ZeroHedge, Feb. 3, 2012):

Instead of defaulting a long time ago (when we first suggested it should) when it could have pulled an Iceland, taken a bitter pill, hyperinflated the drachma and in the process delevered overnight, if at a big social cost of losing its welfare safety net (which it is about to lose anyway courtesy of the PSI and OSI), and not be held captive to bigger geopolitical interests, and hostage to the banker superclass, Greece very likely could have been on the road to recovery now, granted with a totally different political regime. Instead, the political regime is the same, Greece is more in debt than ever before, the economy is in shambles, the banks have seen two straight years of bank runs, and most importantly the people now are poorer and more disenchanted than ever, and as the following story indicates, about to get far angrier than any Syntagma square riot cam (which is about to come back with a PayPerView vengeance) has shown to date. According to Kathimerini, late on Saturday evening, “A group of between 30 and 50 youngsters attacked the house of President Karolos Papoulias.”

“The result of the attack was some minor damage to the entrance of the house at Asklipiou Street in central Athens and to the car that Papoulias uses. The hooded youngsters, who arrived by motorbike and on foot just after 8 p.m, hurled a Molotov cocktail, rocks and paint at the house but stopped short of attacking the two guards at the President’s house.

Police use teargas on Occupy Oakland protesters (Guardian, Jan. 29, 2012):

Police have used teargas and “flash” grenades to break up hundreds of Occupy protesters after some demonstrators started throwing rocks and flares at officers and tearing down fencing.

About 300 people were arrested in the most turbulent day of protests in Oakland since November, when police forcefully dismantled an Occupy encampment.

Oakland Mayor Jean Quan, who faced heavy criticism for the police action last autumn, called on the Occupy movement to “stop using Oakland as its playground.”

Police said the group started assembling at a central plaza on Saturday morning, with demonstrators threatening to take over the vacant Henry Kaiser convention centre. The group then marched through the streets, disrupting traffic.

The crowd grew as the day wore on, with afternoon estimates ranging from about 1,000 to 2,000 people.

The protesters walked to the vacant convention centre, where some started tearing down perimeter fencing and “destroying construction equipment,” according to police.

Deadly Blasts Kill At Least 63 In Baghdad In First Major Violence Since US Pullout

Deadly blasts rock Baghdad in first major violence since U.S. pullout (Washington Post, Dec. 22, 2011):

BAGHDAD — More than a dozen explosions in Baghdad killed at least 63 people Thursday — the first major violence in Iraq since the United States completed its troop pullout.

At least 194 people were reported injured in the two-hour spate of bombings, said officials at the Ministry of Interior, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to make public statements.

The violence comes just days after the end of U.S. combat operations in Iraq, and in the midst of an ongoing governmental emergency in which sectarian rifts and ethnic tensions threaten to rip apart the country’s fragile ruling coalition.

Image Of Egyptian Soldiers Beating And Dragging A Young Woman During Clashes In Tahrir Square

The arrest and brutal treatment of this young woman reminds us that the revolution is far from over.

Image of unknown woman beaten by Egypt’s military echoes around world (Guardian, Dec. 18, 2011):

The woman is young, and slim, and fair. She lies on her back surrounded by four soldiers, two of whom are dragging her by the arms raised above her head. She’s unresisting – maybe she’s fainted; we can’t tell because we can’t see her face. She’s wearing blue jeans and trainers. But her top half is bare: we can see her torso, her tummy, her blue bra, her bare delicate arms. Surrounding this top half, forming a kind of black halo around it, is the abaya, the robe she was wearing that has been ripped off and that tells us that she was wearing a hijab.

Six years ago, when popular protests started to hit the streets of Egypt as Hosni Mubarak’s gang worked at rigging the 2005 parliamentary elections, the regime hit back – not just with the traditional Central Security conscripts – but with an innovation: militias of strong, trained, thugs. They beat up men, but they grabbed women, tore their clothes off and beat them, groping them at the same time. The idea was to insinuate that females who took part in street protests wanted to be groped.

Women developed deterrent techniques: layers of light clothing, no buttons, drawstring pants double-knotted – and carried right on protesting. Many of the smaller civil initiatives that grew into the protest movement: “We See You”, “Against Corruption”, “The Streets are Ours” were women-led.

Black Friday Insanity: Woman Pepper Sprays Shoppers To Get Xbox! (Video)

Woman Pepper Sprays Shoppers To Get Xbox (ZeroHedge, Nov. 26, 2011):

It never fails.  Every Black Friday we get yet another heaping helping of pure unadulterated ignorant mentally deficient bottom feeding fat-saturated sheeple mania.  Every year it gets worse.  And, every holiday season I am faced with the painful question of whether or not these people are actually worth saving.  My answer so far has always been a begrudging “yes”.  Many of them have been conditioned by a society on the brink of collapse, not just of economy, but also of conscience.  That doesn’t mean, however, that I excuse this kind of behavior.  Frankly, if some mongoloid Wal-Mart shopper tried to pepper spray me in the face for a video game, I would beat them into cranberry sauce and drink some delicious eggnog to celebrate.  Is this a well balanced response?  Probably not.  But then again, they would likely think twice before pulling the same stunt on anyone else.  Actually, in my humble opinion, at least half the population of this country needs a good a smack upside the head.  Seriously……this situation is getting uncomfortably crooked…….

Imagine how these same people might act in the event that they not only get no Xbox, but no food due to financial instability. Imagine a 200 pound spoiled toddler with an addiction to immediate gratification being told “you are owed nothing”.  The response would probably be similar to (or even worse than) a large portion of the American populace as featured in the videos below:

Thousands of people, including women and children, are being illegally detained by rebel militias in Libya, according to a report by the Secretary-General of the United Nations. Many of the prisoners are suffering torture and systematic mistreatment while being held in private jails outside the control of the country’s new government.

The document, seen by The Independent, states that while political prisoners being held by the Gaddafi regime have been released, their places have been taken by up to 7,000 new “enemies of the state”, “disappeared” in a dysfunctional system, with no recourse to the law.

Tahrir Square crowds vow ‘fight to death’ for end of military rule (Guardian, Nov. 21, 2011):

Amid the gloom, the smoke and the deafening chants of thousands around them, the middle-aged couple looked like they had been photoshopped on to the scene. He was wearing a smart jacket, she a dress and a headscarf. They both walked silently forwards across the debris, hand in hand and staring straight ahead. Each was carrying a rock.

The scene was Talaat Harb street, usually one of downtown Cairo’s busiest thoroughfares and a shopping mecca for cut-price shoes and clothing, just after darkness fell across the capital on Sunday evening. The store shutters were down and the dying and the injured were propped up against them. Ahead, beyond a wall of teargas, stood the troops of Egypt’s once-venerated army, and the new frontline of this country’s reawakened revolution.

Police used tear gas sporadically through the night and into Monday morning against hundreds of protesters – scattered in groups in and around Tahrir – who responded with stones and rocks, according to live footage on state TV.

On Sunday, police and military forces used batons, tear gas and birdshot to clear the central square of thousands of protesters demanding the ruling military cede power to a civilian authority.

The Egyptian health ministry said 22 people had been killed since Sunday, sparking fears of disruptions to the November 28 legislative elections, the first since a popular uprising toppled Hosni Mubarak in February.

Occupy movement returns to streets demanding answers after teargas canister hit Iraq serviceman Scott Olsen in the head

Protesters have returned to downtown Oakland, California, to demand the resignation of the city’s mayor and an investigation to explain how an Iraq war veteran, Scott Olsen, was hit in the head by a teargas canister at close range, leaving him critically injured.

About 2,000 people – half as many as Tuesday night – massed in front of City Hall on Wednesday, tearing down a steel barricade intended to keep them off the grass in Frank Ogawa Plaza.

When the city closed down a nearby underground station, preventing dispersing protesters going home, they organised a spontaneous march through the centre of the city, chanting: “Whose streets? Our streets!”

Occupy Oakland: police fire teargas and baton rounds at protesters (Guardian, Oct. 26, 2011):

Police have used teargas after scuffles broke out between officers and protesters demonstrating against dozens of arrests at an Occupy Wall Street camp in Oakland, California.

According to protest leaders, the march – attended by more than 1,000 people on Tuesday night – was intended to reclaim Frank Ogawa plaza, which has served as a base for two weeks of protests against economic inequality in the city until police cleared it before dawn.

At least 85 people were arrested when police used teargas and baton rounds to break up the camp, sparking fury among protesters who have accused city authorities of a heavy-handed response to their demonstration.

On Tuesday afternoon, protesters marched through the streets of Oakland towards city hall, vowing to retake the plaza. During the march, a small group scuffled with police not far from the city centre, and several were arrested.

Reuters reported that police dispersed the crowd with teargas and what appeared to be a stun grenade.

At Frank Ogawa Plaza, police ordered protesters to move away and they were largely co-operative.

“I’m here because I’m incredibly sad and incredibly angry,” said one protester, Samsarah Morgan. “I’m hoping our city government comes to their senses and stops dealing with us like a fascist state.”
