Record Cold Continues At North Pole

Record cold continues at North Pole:

And yet, back in 2008 “climate prophet” James Hansen of NASA was running around warning us that the Arctic would be free of summer sea ice within 5 to 10 years.

Instead, the Arctic is experiencing record cold.

“The short polar melt season is almost half over, and hasn’t actually begun yet,” says Tony Heller.

The North Pole Could Soon Drift Over to Siberia:

Earth’s magnetic field seems to be weakening and potentially migrating

arth’s magnetic field is weakening, and may be getting set to flip–in just a few thousand years north will become south and south will become north, LiveScience reports. But before it can do that, the magnetic field may wander around a bit. Right now, say scientists with the European Space Agency, the Earth’s magnetic north pole seems to be wandering over to Siberia.

The strength of the Earth’s magnetic field is always changing, with patches of stronger or weaker shielding found across the planet. Right now, the weakest spots hover above the Western Hemisphere, whereas places around the Indian Ocean have been growing stronger. The wobbles in magnetic field strength, says LiveScience, could mean that the planet’s magnetic field is entering a period of flux that will last up to a few thousand years and may ultimately end in a flipping of Earth’s magnetic poles.

Russia’s Latest Land Grab Attempt In The Arctic

Russia’s Latest Land Grab Attempt In The Arctic (OilPrice, Aug 6, 2015):

Russia is resubmitting its claim of more than 460,000 square miles of the Arctic, including the North Pole, as its sovereign territory, saying it has enough evidence to convince the United Nations that its claim is valid.

The Arctic, which is believed to contain as much as one-quarter of Earth’s undiscovered oil and gas, is part of a territorial dispute involving not only Russia but also Canada, Denmark, Norway and the United States.

This is the second time Moscow has submitted a claim in the Arctic. The U.N. rejected its effort in 2002, saying the Russian government hadn’t provided enough evidence that it had a right to the territory.

Canadian PM Seeks To Claim North Pole

Canadian PM seeks to claim North Pole: Report (PressTV, Dec 5, 2013):

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has instructed government bureaucrats to include the North Pole in the country’s Arctic claim to be submitted to the United Nations.

Canada has considered the inclusion of the geographic North Pole in order to extend its northern sea boundary for seabed riches in the Arctic, the daily Globe and Mail reported on Wednesday.

“Canada is in the process of securing its sovereignty over the north,” Harper’s office said, while referring to additional surveying and analysis to strengthen its claim over the North Pole.

Ottawa’s declaration of the North Pole came after it was excluded from a proposed UN submission.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Russia and Denmark have also expressed interest in claiming the North Pole, though submissions must be handed in to the UN by December 6.

Magnetic North Pole Now Racing Nearly A Mile A Day! … The Shift Is On (Video)

FYI.

YouTube, Added: 01.06.2013

The Shift Is On – Magnetic North Pole Now Racing A Mile A Day (Zen Gardner, June 9, 2013):

This is some terrific home research, tracking the movement of the magnetic north pole. It’s apparently still picking up speed and according to this researcher should reach Siberia at least within 2 years. He posits that according to experiments he has done, when it reaches the 40 degree latitude a violent shift could be precipitated as it quickly moves to 40 degrees south and re-stabilizes there.

Guess we’ll see. And as he says, this accelerating magnetic shift could also be a huge influence on our weird weather patterns, and I’d add especially when compounded with the massive idiotic geoengineering programs they’re performing worldwide.

‘Russian Winter Goes EXTREME’ (Pravda): -50 Degrees Celsius In Siberia …. Video: ‘USDA Says NEW WARM LATITUDES Shift North = Russia/Sibera North Pole’

Russian winter goes extreme, claims lives (Pravda, Feb. 1, 2012):

Winter temperatures in Russia have gone extreme. The air in some regions of the republic of Yakutia (Siberia) has cooled down to -50 degrees Centigrade. Anomalous cold of -40 degrees is expected in the Perm region of Russia, Vesti.Ru reports.

In the European part of Russia, the current temperatures are ten degrees below the norm. On Wednesday morning, the temperature in the Moscow region dropped to 26 and even 30 degrees below zero Centigrade.

Cold weather is expected to become even colder this week in Moscow and the region, RIA Novosti reports. Winter cold has already claimed several human lives. One person died of frostbite yesterday in Moscow. Ten others asked for medical help and were hospitalized.

Shift of Earth’s magnetic north pole affects Tampa airport

Runway changes are needed to account for the moving magnetic pole, which is nearing Russia at 40 miles per year.

TAMPA – Scientists say the magnetic north pole is moving toward Russia and the fallout has reached — of all places — Tampa International Airport.

The airport has closed its primary runway until Jan. 13 to repaint the numeric designators at each end and change taxiway signage to account for the shift in location of the Earth’s magnetic north pole.

The closure of the west parallel runway will result in more activity on the east parallel runway and more noise for residential areas of South Tampa.

The busiest runway will be re-designated 19R/1L on aviation charts. It’s been 18R/36L, indicating its alignment along the 180-degree approach from the north and the 360-degree approach from the south.

Later this month, the airport’s east parallel runway and the seldom used east-west runway will be closed to change signage to their new designations.

The Federal Aviation Administration required the runway designation change to account for what a National Geographic News report described as a gradual shift of the Earth’s magnetic pole at nearly 40 miles a year toward Russia because of magnetic changes in the core of the planet.

Earth’s North Magnetic Pole is Racing Toward Russia at Almost 64 Kilometers a Year Due to Core Flux

Before:

National Geographic News (December 15, 2005):

North Magnetic Pole Is Shifting Rapidly Toward Russia:

New research shows the pole moving at rapid clip—25 miles (40 kilometers) a year.

Over the past century the pole has moved 685 miles (1,100 kilometers) from Arctic Canada toward Siberia, says Joe Stoner, a paleomagnetist at Oregon State University.

Now …

North Magnetic Pole Moving East Due to Core Flux

north-pole-magnetic-russia-earth-core

Earth’s north magnetic pole is racing toward Russia at almost 40 miles (64 kilometers) a year due to magnetic changes in the planet’s core, new research says.

The core is too deep for scientists to directly detect its magnetic field. But researchers can infer the field’s movements by tracking how Earth’s magnetic field has been changing at the surface and in space.

Now, newly analyzed data suggest that there’s a region of rapidly changing magnetism on the core’s surface, possibly being created by a mysterious “plume” of magnetism arising from deeper in the core.

And it’s this region that could be pulling the magnetic pole away from its long-time location in northern Canada, said Arnaud Chulliat, a geophysicist at the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris in France.

NASA data shows thickest and oldest Arctic ice is melting

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The thickest, oldest and toughest sea ice around the North Pole is melting, a bad sign for the future of the Arctic ice cap, NASA satellite data showed on Tuesday.

“Thickness is an indicator of long-term health of sea ice, and that’s not looking good at the moment,” Walt Meier of the National Snow and Ice Data Center told reporters in a telephone briefing.

This adds to the litany of disturbing news about Arctic sea ice, which has been retreating over the last three decades, especially last year, when it ebbed to its lowest level.
