Trump Threatened To Send Troops To Mexico To Stop The “Bad Hombres Down There”

Trump Threatened To Send Troops To Mexico To Stop The “Bad Hombres Down There”:

According to a transcript obtained by AP of the phone call which took place on Friday morning between President Trump and his Mexican counterpart, Enrique Pena Nieto, and which was intended to patch things up between the new president and his Mexican peer a day after Pena Nieto called off his visit to the US, Trump threatened to send U.S. troops to stop “bad hombres down there” unless the Mexican military does more to control them itself.

The excerpt of the call did not make clear who exactly Trump considered “bad hombres,” – drug cartels, immigrants, or both – or the tone and context of the remark, made in a Friday morning phone call between the leaders. It also did not contain Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto’s response. Nonetheless, the excerpt “offers a rare and striking look at how the new president is conducting diplomacy behind closed doors.” As AP puts it, Trump’s remark suggest he is using the same tough and blunt talk with world leaders that he used to rally crowds on the campaign trail.

Gen. Flynn: “Today We Are Officially Putting Iran On Notice”

FYI.

Gen. Flynn: “Today We Are Officially Putting Iran On Notice”:

When Iran test fired a new ballistic missile on Sunday, an act it confirmed this morning, it was aware it was taking a calculated risk and, more importantly, was testing America’s response and resolve to preserve Obama’s nuclear deal. It got the answer this afternoon, when shortly before 2pm, President Trump’s national security adviser, Michael Flynn, said the United States was officially putting Iran on notice on Wednesday over its “destabilizing activity” after it test-fired a ballistic missile over the weekend.

“As of today, we are officially putting Iran on notice,” Flynn told a White House briefing, without explaining exactly what that meant, although it is clear that any more provocations by Iran and whatever existing deals Iran had with the Obama administration will almost certainly be revised if not torn up.

White House Blackballs CNN; Refuses To Send Surrogates On “Fake News” Network:

Well, it’s official…according to a note from Politico, the White House has confirmed that surrogates of the Trump administration will no longer appear on CNN and will instead go to “places where we think it makes sense to promote our agenda.”

“We’re sending surrogates to places where we think it makes sense to promote our agenda,” said a White House official, acknowledging that CNN is not such a place, but adding that the ban is not permanent.

A CNN reporter, speaking on background, was more blunt: The White House is trying to punish the network and force down its ratings.

“They’re trying to cull CNN from the herd,” the reporter said.

CNN Producer Sues Trump Over Immigration Order

CNN Producer Sues Trump Over Immigration Order:

Having been ‘black-balled’ by the Trump, it appears CNN is going all-in on alienating itself from The White House as The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports a CNN editor and producer who was detained Sunday at Atlanta’s airport has filed a federal lawsuit challenging President Donald Trump’s immigration order.

Mohammed Tawfeeq is an Iraqi national who has been a permanent legal resident of the United States since 2013. As an editor, Tawfeeq frequently travels to the Middle East as part of his reporting duties, the lawsuit states. Tawfeeq was detained Sunday at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, where he was subjected to additional screening that delayed his entry into the United States.

Russia Denies Shooting at Ukrainian Military Plane In Black Sea

Russia Denies Shooting at Ukrainian Military Plane In Black Sea:

With the US State Department in a state of protracted hiatus for the time being, tensions are again rising between Russia and Ukraine, and especially in East Ukraine, where over the past few days the number of soldiers killed in an offensive by pro-Russian separatists has reportedly risen to seven, Ukraine’s military said on Monday, in the deadliest outbreak of fighting in the east of the country since mid-December.

The clashes between Ukraine’s military and the pro-Russian separatists coincide with U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for better relations with Moscow that has alarmed Kiev while the conflict in its eastern region remains unresolved. According to Ukraine sources, the rebels began attacking government positions in the eastern frontline town of Avdiyivka on Sunday. Five soldiers were killed and nine wounded on Sunday and two more were killed on Monday, they said.

Republicans Change Confirmation Rules To Overcome Democrat Boycott

Republicans Change Confirmation Rules To Overcome Democrat Boycott:

In an unexpected move on Tuesday, Senate Democrats announced they would boycott the votes of Steven Mnuchin and Tim Price, effectively blocking the confirmation process which requires the presence of at least one Democrat. However, on Wednesday, Senate Republicans found a loophole to push through Trump’s two Cabinet nominees Wednesday, by upending standard committee rules to circumvent a Democratic boycott.

As Bloomberg reports, the Senate Finance Committee – with only Republican members present – advanced Steven Mnuchin to head the Treasury Department, and Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) as secretary of Health and Human Services. They did so when the Republicans gathered in the hearing room and unanimously agreed to change the committee’s standing rules, which normally require at least one member of each party to be in attendance for committee work to proceed.

Migrants with Airsoft Guns Shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ Cause Panic on Vienna Subway:

Young migrants caused panic on the Vienna subway by chanting “Allahu Akbar” and waving around airsoft guns until a passenger intervened.

The incident occurred at 2pm Monday afternoon on the Vienna u-bahn, the city’s subway system. According to witnesses, the group of four young migrants began shouting “Allahu Akbar” at the Schweglerstrasse station on the U3 line. The migrants also shouted phrases in Arabic at the frightened passengers as they waved around their airsoft guns, Kronen Zeitung reports.

One of the witnesses was terror expert Amer Albayati who told the Austrian paper the migrant teens fired their airsoft guns on the subway car. As the teens screamed in Arabic, he said most passengers fled but one man did not. Mr. Albayati said that the man tried to overpower the migrants and get them off the train.

The -other- “ban” that was quietly announced last week

The -other- “ban” that was quietly announced last week:

Most of the world is in an uproar right now over the travel ban that Donald Trump hastily imposed late last week on citizens of seven predominantly Muslim countries.

But there was another ban that was quietly proposed last week, and this one has far wider implications: a ban on cash.

The European Union’s primary executive authority, known as the European Commission, issued a “Road Map” last week to initiate continent-wide legislation against cash.

There are already a number of anti-cash legislative measures that have been passed in individual European member states.

In France, for example, it’s illegal to make purchases of more than 1,000 euros in cash.

Swedish Police Chief says women should change their behaviour to avoid getting raped (Video) – #MigrantCrisis

Watch: Swedish Police Chief says women should change their behaviour to avoid getting raped:

Recently a clip of Swedish chief of police in Östersund, Stephen Jerand, warning women to adjust their behaviour to protect against a spate of violent attacks, has resurfaced on Facebook and Twitter, now circulating on YouTube with English translation and commentary. The video is real and dates to March 7th 2016, when the Östersund police thought it appropriate, after at least six reports of violence against women in the area since 20 February.

The most recent assault took place in the early hours of Sunday morning when a woman became the victim of an attempted rape by three young men in central Östersund. Brought to the ground by three unknown men, who attempted to rip her trousers off, the woman fought back and managed to escape. The perpetrators have been described as “tall, slim, aged 18-25 and speaking Swedish with a foreign accent“.

EU President: EU now at war with Trump. (And Russia, China, Radical Islam, Populism):

President of the European Council Donald Tusk has joined Verhofstadt in denouncing the Trump administration in a letter to European heads of state, clearly conveying the ranks of EU bureaucrats are closing. According to Tusk, unity is necessary since:

“Particularly the change in Washington puts the European Union in a difficult situation; with the new administration seeming to put into question the last 70 years of American foreign policy.”

Overnight, this statement seems to put the US on a par with Radical Islam, China and Russia, about which the same letter states:

Real Madrid soccer team removes cross from logo to avoid offending Muslims:

“We have to be careful with regions of the Gulf where there is sensitivity about products that have a cross.”

Of course. But where do Muslims ever display a similar sensitivity to non-Muslims? The old adage always holds: when in Muslim countries, conform your behavior to suit Muslim sensibilities. When in non-Muslim countries, conform your behavior to suit Muslim sensibilities.

Real Madrid initially did this in 2012. This is just follow-through.
