AND NOW: Scientists Ask Obama To Prosecute Global Warming Skeptics

Scientists Ask Obama To Prosecute Global Warming Skeptics:

The science on global warming is settled, so settled that 20 climate scientists are asking President Barack Obama to prosecute people who disagree with them on the science behind man-made global warming.

Russia Says It May Send Troops Into Combat In Syria As A Worried Netanyahu Heads To Moscow

Russia Says It May Send Troops Into Combat In Syria As A Worried Netanyahu Heads To Moscow:

On Thursday evening, we detailed a Reuters report which suggested that the influx of Russian technical and logistical support to Bashar al-Assad’s depleted army at Latakia might have breathed new life into the regime as it seeks to rout Islamic State and a whole host of other armed groups fighting for control of Syria. “Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem said on Thursday Russia had provided new weapons and trained Syrian troops how to use them,” Reuters said, before describing what certainly sounds like an invigorated air campaign against the de facto ISIS capital at Raqqa.

Importantly, al-Moualem also indicated that Syria would be willing to make an official request for Russian combat troops “if needed.”

Now clearly, it seems likely that Russian troops have already joined the battle and indeed, when the bullets start flying, the distinction between “logistical” support and “combat” support quickly becomes blurred, but through all the sabre rattling and back-and-forth banter between Kerry and Lavrov, both sides are still keen to at least pay lip service to the unwritten rules of international diplomacy which is why before Russia can admit that its troops are actually on the ground to fight, they’ll be a charade where Syria will pretend to be raising the issue with the Kremlin for the first time at which point the Kremlin will take a few days to “consider” things. As of Friday, it appears as though that process has begun.

Here’s Bloomberg:

Russia said it’s willing to consider sending troops into combat operations in Syria if President Bashar al-Assad’s government requests assistance.

Deep fears over Russia’s Syria push

Putin-1

Deep fears over Russia’s Syria push:

THE JEWISH CHRONICLE – Russia’s decision to deploy warplanes and military units to Syria could have far-reaching implications beyond the ongoing civil war. It is already driving a wedge between Jerusalem and Moscow.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said he would fly to Russia to voice Israel’s concerns over the deployment.

President Vladimir Putin has routinely met Israel’s prime minister, usually annually, and also held regular meetings with former president Shimon Peres.

Most of the disagreements between the two countries in recent years have been around the supply of Russian arms to Israel’s enemies – particularly Iran, Syria and Hizbollah. However, at no point – not even when Israeli experts found evidence that IDF armoured vehicles had been destroyed by the most advanced Russian anti-tank missiles during the Second Lebanon War – did the accusations and counter-accusations come to the surface.

The announcement of a sudden visit by Mr Netanyahu to his Russian counterpart is an unprecedented public admission of a crisis between the two countries.

Of course, there is nothing new about Russia’s support for the Assad regime in Syria. Moscow has given the regime diplomatic backing, shielding it from UN resolutions and other international sanctions, and has continued to supply arms and service Russian-supplied weapons systems.

What has changed in recent weeks is both the scope of this military assistance, with entire units reportedly being deployed to the Latakia region on the Mediterranean coast, and the heightened level of co-operation between the Russians and Assad’s other backers – Iran and their proxies Hizbollah.

The main Israeli concern is that the Russian involvement will shield both Iranian and Hizbollah fighters, allowing them to further plans to build a terror infrastructure on Israel’s Golan border. Israel also fears that the Russian military will provide cover for more advanced weapons to be smuggled from Syrian army bases to Hizbollah in Lebanon.

Russia has portrayed its involvement in Syria as putting “boots on the ground” in the fight against Daesh. Few in the region – or in Russia or Ukraine – buy this version. Many believe that Mr Putin is trying to use the struggle against Daesh as a way to get Russia out of the international isolation caused by its invasion of Ukraine.

The Russian insistence on keeping Assad in power has tainted this effort but Mr Putin has once again outmanoeuvred the West, which has not come up with any solution to the Syrian war. The Obama administration has criticised the latest Russian moves, as have a number of European governments, but so far, Israel is the only nation that is intervening with Mr Putin directly.

Did the US Government Just Back a Coup in Burkina Faso?

Did the US Government Just Back a Coup in Burkina Faso?:

For the second time in nearly two years, the government of the West African nation of Burkina Faso was taken over by a military coup early Thursday morning. The transitional government that had been established by the military, following the overthrow of President Blaise Compaoré in 2014, has been abolished. However, the perpetrators of this coup aren’t ordinary soldiers. They are Compaore’s former presidential guard, who act independently of the regular military.

Obama Issues Orwellian Executive Order:

The question gets raised again: Is this guy really planning on leaving office or no? Already, under the reign of terror propagated by Obama, Pelosi, and Reid, liberals have managed to achieve roughly 35 of the 45 Goals of the Soviet Union to Bring About the Destruction of the United States. There is no argument to be made there… none. They were published in 1958, and they are listed in that post for you to see for yourself. The United States is sprinting toward a Communist/Socialist nation as fast as Obama can get us there.

Now, as you’ll learn in the video and article below, Obama has issued another illegal Executive Order that is downright Orwellian in nature. Made into law illegally by none other than the Emperor himself, federal agencies can now hire psychologists to experiment and find ways to better manipulate the American people… but not to worry… “It’s for your own good… Obama promises.” The idea behind hiring psychologists is so federal agencies can better understand how Americans make decisions and act on them, and then exploit it. The order can be traced back to a 2013 policy proposal entertained by the White House called “Strengthening Federal Capacity for Behavioral Insights.”

Obama tried to go about this policy idea the constitutional way in 2013, and rightfully it fell flat on its face. Article II of the Constitution gives the President NO legislative power, none. Does Obama care? Of course not… he’ll just make law with his phone and his pen… and as usual, no one in the mainstream will report on it, and no one will stand in his way.

This Is The Satellite Image That Supposedly Proves The Presence Of Russian “Troops And Aircraft” In Syria

In a day of diplomatic snafus by the Pentagon, which first admitted it had spec ops forces in Syria (remember when it was just “advisors” and the Obama administration was blaming Russia for escalating the conflict by daring to join the fight against ISIS and sending its own troops in Damascus) then promptly retracted, using the old “there was no Freudian slip” explanation, the US promptly needed another diversion to cast the blame back in Putin’s court.

“Total Failure”: Pentagon Spends $41 Million Training “Four Or Five” Syrian Fighters

“Total Failure”: Pentagon Spends $41 Million Training “Four Or Five” Syrian Fighters:

Earlier today, US Central Command Gen. Lloyd Austin III seemed to suggest that US SpecOps were fighting alongside YPG in Syria. As we noted when the news hit, if true that won’t go over well with Turkey’s Erdogan, Washington’s brand new coalition partner against ISIS who has made no secret of his distrust for the YPG.

Four hours later, the Pentagon claimed that Austin’s words were taken out of context and that in fact, US forces had not (yet) played a combat role. But just in case Washington does finally decide to admit that US boots are indeed on the ground along with Russian boots, it can always simply point to its own miserable operational failure as justification for why the previous arrangement just wasn’t going to cut it when it comes to “degrading” militant capabilities. Read on.

As you may recall, earlier this year the Pentagon decided to try its hand at training an “appropriately vetted [group] of Syrian opposition recruits” whose mission would be to “degrade and ultimately defeat ISIL.”
