CalExit 3.0: New Petition Calls For Cali Secession…3rd Time’s A Charm?:

Well, rather than pursue a ballot measure, which requires 585,407 signatures, the CalExit 3.0 group has petitioned California’s Attorney General to call for a Constitutional Convention of the States so they can, among other things, amend the U.S. Constitution to allow for a “clear and reasonable path for individual States to become independent, so that CA can secede, if they so choose.”

Agenda 21? California Ranchers Revolt After State Sets Aside 2 Million Acres For A Frog

California Ranchers Revolt After State Sets Aside 2 Million Acres For A Frog:

California is known for it’s wacky legislation.  After all, it is the state where Governor Jerry Brown recently signed a law specifically intended to regulate cow flatulence…no, really (see: Here Are Some Of The Ridiculous New State Laws That Will Take Effect January 1st – Happy New Year!).

As such, it will probably come as no surprise that the state recently set aside nearly 2 million acres (for those who have difficulty conceptualizing what 2 million acres looks like, it’s roughly 3x the size of Rhode Island) in order to protect a frog, the Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog to be exact.

And while many will just dismiss this as the latest example of a far-leftist government gone mad, a group of California farmers and ranchers, who could very well be regulated out of business by this latest California law, are fighting back and have sued the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  More from The Sacramento Bee:

Frustrated California Conservatives Are Moving To Texas

Frustrated California Conservatives Are Moving To Texas:

Some frustrated California conservatives have finally found a solution for the bad schools, creeping crime and outrageously high taxes fostered by the liberal politicians who dominate the state’s legislature and executive branch.

It’s called “moving to Texas.”

Fox News reports that some conservative Californians who’re tired of “high taxes on everything from your home to your plastic bags,” “violent crime that may be seeping into…seemingly idyllic neighborhoods,” and “subpar public schools” have found refuge in the Lone Star state, with many Sunshine state expats clustering in the suburbs near Dallas. The cable network spoke with Paul Chabot, a 43-year-old native of Southern California, who twice ran for Congress as the Republican candidate in the state’s 31st Congressional district.

California Moves One Step Closer To Declaring Independence From US Government

California Moves One Step Closer To Declaring Independence From US Government:

After a bid to launch a California secession movement failed in April, a more moderate ballot measure has been approved, and its backers now have 180 days to attain nearly 600,000 signatures in order to put it up to vote in the 2018 election.

The Yes California movement advocated full-on secession from the rest of the country, and it gained steam after Donald Trump won the presidential election in 2016. However, as the Sacramento Bee noted, that attempt failed to gather the signatures needed and further floundered after it was accused of having ties to Russia.

But as the Los Angeles Times reported this week:

Children across California found to have higher lead poisoning than those in Flint, Michigan

Children across California found to have higher lead poisoning than those in Flint, Michigan:

If you thought the Flint, MI lead poisoning was bad, it turns out that numerous communities in California are even worse. Blood testing data gathered by Reuters has revealed that children from one Fresno community had blood lead levels up to three times higher than those seen in children from Flint.

Even though California is known for their staunch environmental advocacy, it appears that the Golden State is not immune to the hazards of lead. High rates of childhood lead poisoning have been observed in a number of Bay Area communities, along with downtown Los Angeles. In one area of Fresno, 13.6 percent of blood samples collected from children under the age of six revealed high levels of lead — compared to just 5 percent across the city of Flint, MI during the water contamination crisis.

California Chief Justice Demands ICE Stop “Stalking Courthouses And Arresting Undocumented Immigrants”:
