It’s official: The last vestiges of common sense have now finally gone out the window. The Washington Times is reporting that climate alarmists are calling for those who do not buy into the catastrophic man-made global warming narrative to be jailed … for murder! That’s right folks; if you don’t accept the idea that humans are causing temperatures to soar at an alarming rate and destroying the planet, you’re a murderer – and must be punished as such.

Recent headlines clearly reflect the increasing frustration felt by climate change fanatics.

A September 1 headline in Outline declared, “Climate change denial should be a crime,” with writer Brian Merchant claiming, “In the wake of Harvey, it’s time to treat science denial as gross negligence — and hold those who do the denying accountable.”

An article a week later in the Nation boldly stated that, “Climate Denialism Is Literally Killing Us,” with the writer angrily declaring that “murder is murder” and “we should punish it as such.”

Thierry Baudet is a Dutch doctor of Law as well as the founder and leader of the new Dutch political party Forum for Democracy, which holds two seats in national parliament, but is currently polled at nine seats.

In his dystopian classic, The Managerial Revolution (1941), the American political scientist James Burnham coined the concept of “controlled democracy“. According to Burnham, the civil democracies of the second half of the 20th century would – more or less gradually – be overgrown with backroom bureaucratic networks that make the actual decisions, all far away from the electorate and public debate. While this would slowly but surely erode the democratic mandate of governments, Burnham explicitly didn’t expect that this would lead to the dissolution of the European nation-state – in name, that is:

“The many nations that are in fact being absolved will remain existent in name; they can function as administrative subdivisions, but have no sovereignty.”

Update (1:30 pm ET): This afternoon’s round of NFL games has begun and as expected players from nearly every team playing today took a knee during the National Anthem, locked arms in solidarity with players who decided to take a knee, or – in the case of the Pittsburg Steelers – remained in the locker room, and thus weren’t visible to the public.

In Philadelphia, Eagles and Giants players and coaches  locked arms as a massive American flag was raised over the field and military jets performed a flyover. A few players raised fists or knelt, according ot the New York Times. Several players on the Bills and the Broncos also took a knee.

The Steelers didn’t participate in the Anthem, as coach Mike Tomlin had warned, remaining in the locker room instead – except for LT Alejandro Villanueva, an army veteran who stood by the tunnel with his hand over his heart.

Even Tom Brady, who as NYT notes is friends with Trump,  jooined his teammates in locking arms during the anthem before the Patriots’ game against the Texans In Foxborough. Brady also put his hand over his heart.

Pope Francis spoke out strongly Friday in favor of welcoming more migrants throughout Europe, telling his hearers to beware of the “intolerance, discrimination and xenophobia” that have sprung up around the continent.

In his audience with the European national directors of the Church’s pastoral work with migrants here for a meeting sponsored by the Council of Episcopal Conferences of Europe (CCEE), the Pope recognized the consternation caused by the “massive migrant flows” in Europe that have “thrown into crisis migratory policies held up to now.”

At the same time, Francis rejected national immigration policies designed to protect the cultural and religious identities of the peoples of Europe.

“I won’t hide my concern in the face of the signs of intolerance, discrimination and xenophobia that have arisen in different regions of Europe,” the pontiff said, which are “often fueled by reticence and fear of the other, the one who is different, the foreigner.”

The Council of Europe has spoken out against performing medical tests on migrants to determine their age, claiming youths could be “frightened and unsettled” by the process.

In a report published Wednesday on age tests, the children’s rights committee of the council said unless there is evidence that the person is an adult, asylum seekers claiming to be under 18 should “be given the benefit of the doubt and presumed to be a child”.

Alleging that age assessments “may be frightening and unsettling for children”, the report recommends the process should take place “only if a best interests assessment concludes [it] is required in order to promote the best interests of the child”.

And only as a “last resort” should EU nations use “invasive” medical age assessment methods  — such as dental examinations and X-rays  — according to the report, which concludes that “the ultimate goal of any procedure should be to ensure the protection of the person’s rights”.

Talk about a nightmare.  It is being reported that criminals were able to hack into Equifax and make off with the credit information of 143 million Americans.  We are talking about names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, home addresses and even driver’s license numbers.  If this data breach was an earthquake, we would be talking about a magnitude-10.0 on the identity theft scale.  We have never seen anything like this before, and to say that this will be “disastrous” for the credit industry would be a massive understatement.

What really disturbed me about this story is that this hack reportedly occurred between “mid-May and July of this year”…
