FAA orders “no fly zone” over Bundy Ranch (Intellihub, April 12, 2012):

The FAA ordered a no fly zone over the Bundy Ranch to prevent media coverage

NEVADA – As tensions rise between federal agents and protesters at the Bundy Ranch standoff in Nevada, the FAA has declared a no fly zone over the entire area.  “No fly zones” are a tactic that the US government uses in war zones, in order to maintain a monopoly over the airspace in a conflict zone.

In this specific situation it seems that the government agents are using this no fly zone as a way of keeping media aircraft out of the area, so their transgressions and brutality can not be seen by the general public.

The following notice was posted to the FAA’s official website:

FDC 4/1687 ZLA NV..AIRSPACE MESQUITE, NV..TEMPORARY FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS WITHIN AREA DEFINED AS 3NM RADIUS OF 364624N/1141113W (MMM71 RADIAL AT 4.3NM) SFC-3000FT AGL LAW ENFORCEMENT INVESTIGATION. PURSUANT TO 14 CFR SECTION 91.137(A)(1) TEMPORARY FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS ARE IN EFFECT. ONLY RELIEF AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS UNDER DIRECTION OF BLM ARE AUTHORIZED IN THE AIRSPACE. BLM TELEPHONE 702-335-3191 IS IN CHARGE OF ON SCENE EMERGENCY RESPONSE ACTIVITY. LOS ANGELES /ZLA/ ARTCC TELEPHONE 661-265-8205 IS THE FAA COORDINATION FACILITY. 1404112140-1405111434

The no fly zone was enacted for a 3-square-mile area around the site of the Bundy’s ranch and will extend from April 11 until May 11.

The Washington Free Beacon newspaper reported on Monday this week that 234 of the 908 cattle had been wrangled up by government agents, and meanwhile the number of protesters in the area continues to grow.

The federal agency responsible for this altercation, The U.S. Bureau of Land Management, or BLM claims that this area must be taken from the rancher to protect an endangered species of tortoise that is native to the area.

However, this same agency had planned to kill hundreds of these tortoises just last year, in this very same area, when budget cuts caused a local wildlife preserve to shut down.

  1. This is the most terrifying thing to date. They did that with WACO, they didn’t want the press or the public seeing what they are doing. The Bundys may well end up dead.
That is the kind of government we now have. Some greedy gut wants the land, so screw the legal owner who doesn’t want to do things their way.
This is the most upsetting story, and the rightful owners will probably die before Monday.
This is what happens when people go to sleep and let a government run itself……..fascism and death.
