On Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said she noted comments from former President Donald Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance about ending the war in Ukraine but said Moscow needed to be “realistic” about the prospect.

“We saw the statements — Trump said he would resolve the conflict within 24 hours, then Vance said that China is a bigger problem for the United States than the Russia-Ukraine conflict,” she said, according to Reuters.

“It’s necessary to separate pre-election rhetoric from statements by government officials vested with the appropriate powers. If we talk about whether it’s possible to resolve the conflict, let’s be realistic,” she added.

Sie sollen immer nach der gleichen Methode vorgehen – und allem Anschein nach kein Unrechtsbewusstsein haben: Eine Jugendbande aus Norddeutschland soll für dutzende Einbruchsdelikte verantwortlich sein. Besonders schockierend: Der Anführer dieser Bande aus Norderstedt bei Hamburg ist ein elfjähriges Flüchtlingskind aus Marokko, das 2023 nach Deutschland kam. Die BILD hatte exklusiv über den Fall berichtet.

Dabei sollen sich alleine am vergangenen Dienstag fünf Einbrüche in Norderstedt ereignet haben. Nachdem die Polizei den elfjährigen Marokkaner und seinen 16-jährigen Komplizen festgenommen hatte, stellte sich heraus: Das Duo soll für mindestens 70 Einbrüche verantwortlich sein, die stets nach dem gleichen Muster ablaufen: Während der Elfjährige in Wohnungen und Häuser einbricht und Wertgegenstände entwendet, steht sein älterer Komplize Schmiere.

Bei dem elfjährigen Anführer handelt es sich dabei um einen Marokkaner, der 2023 als Flüchtling nach Deutschland kam. Gerade einmal ein Jahr später wurde er kriminell. Sein 16-jähriger Kumpane ist ein Deutsch-Tunesier. Insgesamt sollen zu der Jugendbande aber etwa zehn Mitglieder gehören, die die Einbrüche in wechselnder Besetzung durchführen. Sie alle sind beim Kinder- und Jugendnotdienst an der Feuerbergstraße in Hamburg untergebracht. Dabei soll der Haupttäter auch immer wieder aus der Unterkunft ausbrechen, sodass die Jugendbetreuer mehr als 100 Mal den die Polizei verständigen mussten, weil sie vermuteten, der Junge sei verschollen.

In Köln rät die Polizei Frauen, ihren Schmuck an bestimmten Orten nur noch verdeckt zu tragen und im Falle eines Diebstahlversuchs laut zu schreien. Immer häufiger kommt es in der Rheinmetropole zu Übergriffen, bei denen Jugendliche aus Nordafrika Passanten Goldketten vom Hals reißen. Über das „Phänomen Goldkettenabreissen“ und die Handlungsempfehlungen der Polizei Köln hatte der WDR zuerst berichtet.

„In den letzten Wochen sind häufiger Halsketten vom Hals gerissen worden, vom Hals erwachsener Menschen“, heißt es von Seiten der Polizeisprecherin Annemarie Schott. „Nach ersten Erkenntnissen sind die Tatverdächtigen Kinder und Jugendliche aus dem nordafrikanischen Raum, die sich spontan an dem Schmuck bereichern.“

Schwerpunkte der Delikte sind dabei der Kölner Ebertplatz sowie der angrenzende Theodor-Heuss-Ring. Dabei sind die Diebstähle von Schmuck Teil eines größeren Problems von Jugendgewalt an öffentlichen Plätzen. Am Ebertplatz kam es in den vergangenen Jahren etwa wiederholt zu Tötungsdelikten. Auch jüngst sei ein Ladendetektiv uin Köln von einem Jugendlichen mit einer abgebrochenen Glasflasche angegriffen worden.

It’s official: Biden’s $230+ Gaza humanitarian pier has been permanently dismantled after it spent more time out of commission than in actual operation. The Pentagon has tried to pass it off dubiously as ‘mission accomplished’ – despite an avalanche of criticism including from sitting Senators and House members heaped on the problem-prone project.

“The maritime storage mission involving the pier is complete, so there’s no more need to use the pier, particularly because we’re able to implement a more sustaining pathway, to Ashdod,” announced Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, Deputy Commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM), at the end of this week.

The pier faced frequent shutdowns amid tumultuous Mediterranean seas, and at one point in the early summer actually broke apart, with pieces having drifted onto an Israeli beach further north.

The Kremlin has again warned against a build-up of NATO warships in the Black Sea, while saying it is monitoring a noticeable increase in Western military vessels.

“Of course, the concentrated presence of NATO ships – we are paying attention to Bulgaria and Romania, the coastal states that are members of the (NATO) alliance – of course this represents, especially in the current situation, an additional threat to Russia,” Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a press briefing Thursday.

“Of course, Russia will take all necessary measures to ensure its own security,” he added. Throughout the course of the war, Ukraine forces have used both aerial missiles as well as sea drones to attack Russia’s Black Sea fleet.

Ukraine’s President Zelensky has meanwhile vowed to not let Russia dominate the Black Sea. This week he unveiled a new ‘maritime security strategy’ in cooperation with the West.

The strategy seeks to ensure “readiness, comprehensive and effective prevention and response to threats to the maritime security of Ukraine arising in coastal areas, in its maritime spaces, as well as other areas of the World Ocean to which the economic and other interests of Ukraine extend.”

A key measure is that it proposes “ensuring the permanent presence of NATO forces in the Black Sea.”
