UK Govt Staff Asked To Check Pronouns Of Co-Workers Before Assuming Gender Identity

UK Govt Staff Asked To Check Pronouns Of Co-Workers Before Assuming Gender Identity:

People working for the government in the UK have been told that they should check what pronouns their colleagues prefer and not assume they know the gender their co-workers identify as.

The Telegraph reports that civil servants were advised to take the measures in an internal memo that asked staff to mark Transgender Day of Remembrance, one of several calendar days earmarked for LGBTQ+ themed activities.

John & Nisha Whitehead: The White House Goes Rogue: Secret Surveillance Program Breaks All The Laws

The White House Goes Rogue: Secret Surveillance Program Breaks All The Laws:

“We are rapidly entering the age of no privacy, where everyone is open to surveillance at all times; where there are no secrets from government.”

 – William O. Douglas, dissenting in Osborn v. United States (1966)

The government wants us to believe that we have nothing to fear from its mass spying programs as long as we’ve done nothing wrong.

Don’t believe it.

It doesn’t matter whether you obey every law. The government’s definition of a “bad” guy is extraordinarily broad, and it results in the warrantless surveillance of innocent, law-abiding Americans on a staggering scale.

For instance, it was recently revealed that the White House, relying on a set of privacy loopholes, has been sidestepping the Fourth Amendment by paying AT&T to allow federal, state, and local law enforcement to access—without a warrant—the phone records of Americans who are not suspected of a crime.

This goes way beyond the NSA’s metadata collection program.

Special Counsel Jack Smith Demanded Info On Americans Who “Favorited Or Retweeted” Trump Tweets; Newly Released Docs Show:

Special Counsel Jack Smith demanded information on Twitter users who liked or retweeted former President Donald Trump’s tweets leading up to the January 6 riot, according to a heavily redacted search warrant and other documents released Monday.

Smith’s comprehensive search warrant sought the 2024 Republican presidential primary front-runner’s search history, direct messages, and “content of all tweets created, drafted, favorited/liked, or retweeted” by his account from October 2020 to January 2021.

The special counsel also demanded a list of all devices used to log into Trump’s then-Twitter, now X account, as well as information on users who interacted with the then-president in the months leading up to Jan. 6, 2021, the court filings show.

Among the information Smith sought were lists of all Twitter users who “favorited or retweeted” Trump’s tweets, “as well as all tweets that include the username associated with the account” in “mentions” or “replies.”

11th Anniversary Of Bitcoin’s First ‘Halving’: From $12 To $37,000:

Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market value, experienced its first-ever halving 11 years ago today. As the community celebrates the anniversary of the first Bitcoin halving, it’s timely to revisit some of Bitcoin’s historical milestones ahead of the next halving expected in April 2024.

The first Bitcoin transaction occurred nearly 15 years ago on Jan. 3, 2009, a few months after the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, published the Bitcoin white paper in October 2008.

On Nov. 28, 2012 — three years and 10 months after Bitcoin’s first block was mined — the first-ever halving event took place. At the time, BTC traded at around $12, according to data from StatMuse, or 308,200% below Bitcoin’s current priceaccording to data from CoinGecko.

Panama Forcing First Quantum To Close Mega-Copper Mine Is A “Significant Event”

Oh!…

Panama Forcing First Quantum To Close Mega-Copper Mine Is A “Significant Event” :

Copper futures reached a ten-week high on Wednesday following the announcement by Panama’s government to shut down a controversial $10 billion copper mine owned by First Quantum Minerals Ltd. The decision came after the Supreme Court of the Central American country declared the 20-year concession given to the Canadian mining operator was unconstitutional.

“We have decided to unanimously declare unconstitutional the entire law 406 [granted mining concessions to First Quantum Minerals] of October 20, 2023,” Supreme Court President Maria Eugenia Lopez said on Tuesday.

Later that evening, President Laurentino Cortizo posted on social media platform X that the “transition process for the orderly and safe closure of the mine” had already begun. Production at Cobre mine has already been disrupted due to environmentalist protesters and labor unions.

The court’s ruling and resulting shuttering of Cobre Mine is a shock to investors and the industry as a whole. The mine produces about 1.5% of the world’s copper supply.

Black Friday “Dud”: Retailers Heavily Dependent On Shopping Frenzy Day Saw Sales Drop

Black Friday “Dud”: Retailers Heavily Dependent On Shopping Frenzy Day Saw Sales Drop:

Perhaps all the cheer around record Black Friday online sales, fueled by ‘Buy Now, Pay Later‘ options, may be unwarranted, as a new Bloomberg report suggests that this year’s most important shopping day fell short of expectations for major retailers.

According to an analysis of Bloomberg Second Measure transaction data, the median decline in Black Friday sales was about 4% for a basket of 40 companies that have a higher percentage of year-to-date sales from the shopping holiday versus peers. The data showed that this year’s drop was sharper than Black Friday 2022.

Panama Canal Chaos Might Spread To Suez, Greek Shipping Exec Warns

Panama Canal Chaos Might Spread To Suez, Greek Shipping Exec Warns:

Update (1234ET):

The giant bottleneck building at both entrances of the Panama Canal might spread to Egypt’s Suez Canal. This is according to Bloomberg, which quoted a top executive at Greek shipping firm Angelicoussis Group during a conference in Athens.

Sveinung Støhle, the company’s deputy chief executive officer, said, “Suez will need to take a lot more vessels” because the drought-stricken Panama Canal has sailing restrictions.

He noted that the Suez Canal, which serves as an alternative route for ships traversing between the US and Asia, has historically managed congestion issues “very well over the years,” making it “less of an issue, but obviously, it’s something you need to be aware of.”

The bottleneck at the Panama Canal has only allowed companies with pre-booked slots to sail the canal, Støhle said. He said only four or five LNG vessels are sailing the canal each month, down from about 30 before restrictions were put in place earlier this year.

“If you can’t go via the Panama Canal, you must add one more ship for the same volume,” he said. “Where do you get the ships from? That’s is going to be a challenge.”

WHO Warns That Disease Poised To Kill More In Gaza Than Bombs

WHO Warns That Disease Poised To Kill More In Gaza Than Bombs:

The World Health Organization (WHO) issued a dire warning for Gaza this week, saying that if the humanitarian aid situation is not immediately improved, more Palestinians could die of disease than Israeli’s bombing campaign.

Eventually we will see more people dying from disease than from bombardment if we are not able to put back together this health system,” said WHO spokesperson Margaret Harris at a briefing in Geneva on Tuesday.

It’s a shocking statement given the already immense death toll after seven weeks of fighting. Even the lower end estimates put the Gazan death toll at above 10,000 – while Palestinian sources this week have said it topped 15,000.

Michigan Township Creates Militia To Defend The Right To Bear Arms:

Authored by Steven Kovac via The Epoch Times,

The resolution by the Republican-majority board also declared Holton Township a “Second Amendment Sanctuary Community” in which unconstitutional laws controlling firearms wouldn’t be recognized.

Half of Michigan’s 83 county governments have declared themselves Second Amendment Sanctuary counties.

Alberta Premier Defies Trudeau Carbon Agenda – Invokes Sovereignty Act

Alberta Premier Defies Trudeau Carbon Agenda – Invokes Sovereignty Act:

It is an action which multiple red states in the US have undertaken: Blocking carbon controls ingrained in “green power” initiatives conjured by the federal government.

Now it appears the momentum has spread to Canada through Alberta’s conservative leadership as Premier Danielle Smith defies the Trudeau regime by invoking the province’s recently drafted Sovereignty Act.

The Sovereignty Act is designed to give Alberta’s legislative assembly the power to identify any federal programs or actions that violate Alberta’s constitution, the government would then refuse to implement those programs.  The implementation of the act means that finally, an open dialogue on the existential threat of the UN’s “sustainable development goals” and Agenda 2030 has begun in Canada.

The reasons for opposition to “Net Zero” objectives have been repeated over and over again by political critics, economic critics and scientific critics alike.

FBI Conducts Record Number Of Background Checks On Black Friday As Gun Demand Surges

FBI Conducts Record Number Of Background Checks On Black Friday As Gun Demand Surges:

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) reported the FBI conducted a record-breaking number of National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) checks on Black Friday.

NSSF said FBI NICS completed 214,913 background checks on Black Friday – the highest number recorded for the most popular shopping day of the year, besides Cyber Monday. It noted the figure also includes background checks for other firearms-related purposes, such as approvals for concealed carry permits. Recall that NICS data is a proxy for gun sales because there is no national database tracking firearm purchases.

Last week’s 214,913 background checks surpassed 192,749 on Black Friday 2022, 187,585 NICS checks on Black Friday 2021, and 186,645 checks on Black Friday 2020.

From Nov. 18 through Black Friday, a total of 680,671 background checks were run by the FBI, down slightly from last year’s figure of 711,372 for the same period.
