India Set to Purchase S-400 Missile System from Russia

India Set to Purchase S-400 Missile System from Russia:

According to TASS news agency…

Moscow expects to sign a deal with India soon on the delivery of S-400 air defense missile systems, Russian Deputy PM Dmitry Rogozin told Rossiya 24 TV on Wednesday.

India’s PTI news agency reported in mid-December, citing Viktor Kladov of Russia’s Rostec, that Moscow and New Delhi were agreeing to the technical details of the contract for the delivery of S-400 long-range surface-to-air missile systems.

The negotiations were “at a very advanced stage,” he said at the time, according to TASS.

The sides were discussing the price, personnel training, technology transfer and the number of air defense missile systems India will purchase.

Russia sends more S-400 SAMs to Far East amid N. Korea tensions (VIDEO)

Russia sends more S-400 SAMs to Far East amid N. Korea tensions (VIDEO):

An air defense regiment in Vladivostok in Russia’s Far East has upgraded its arsenal with advanced S-400 system batteries. This comes amid the ongoing crisis involving North Korea, which borders Russia and is 130km from the city.

The 1533th Regiment was previously armed with three older S-300SP systems, but received the modern S-400 Triumf batteries this year. The S-400 has a range of 600km, compared to the 400km range of the older surface-to-air missile, and has better target tracking and simultaneous engagement capabilities. The service members trained to use them earlier in 2017 and confirmed their expertise at the Kapustin Yar range in central Russia, the regiment commander, Col. Aleksey Morokov, told journalists after a deployment ceremony.

Russia Mobilizes S-400 Missiles Systems Near Moscow To “Test Readiness Against A Possible Attack”

Russia Mobilizes S-400 Missiles Systems Near Moscow To “Test Readiness Against A Possible Attack”:

One month ago we reported that Russia had deployed S-400 air defense missile systems in proximity to Moscow, which were then put on combat duty. “The SAM combat squads of the Moscow Region aerospace forces have put the new S-400 Triumph air defense missile system into service, and have gone on combat duty for the air defense of Moscow and the central industrial region of Russia,” the Defense Ministry’s Department of Information and Mass Communication told Interfax in early January.

Russia deploys cutting-edge S-400 air defense system to Syrian base after Su-24 downing

Russia deploys cutting-edge S-400 air defense system to Syrian base after Su-24 downing:

Moscow has deployed its newest S-400 air defense missile system to Khmeimim in Syria as part of a security boost following the downing of a Russian jet by Turkey earlier this week.

“In accordance with the decision of the Supreme Commander of the Russian Armed Forces, today (on Monday) an S-400 air defense missile system has been promptly delivered, deployed and already began combat duty to provide cover for the area around the Russian Khmeimim air base in Syria,” General-Major Igor Konashenkov, Russia’s Ministry of Defense spokesman, said.

Commenting on the decision, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said there was previously no need for such measures, because “no-one imagined the Russian aircraft could be in danger. Russia would’ve brought S-400s to Syria a long time ago to protect its warplanes, if it entertained the possibility of a traitorous backstab.”

S-400 Missile Defense Strength Doubled In Russia’s Far East

russia-kamchatka-s400-deployed

S-400 missile defense strength doubled in Russia’s far east (RT, April 20, 2015):

Another top notch S-400 missile defense system has been deployed to Russia’s far eastern Kamchatka Peninsula. The new generation weapons with a range of up to 400 kilometers can bring down small planes and nuclear charged ballistic missiles.

Thirty-six units of military hardware that make up one S-400 ‘Triumph’ (NATO codename SA-21 Growler) regiment were delivered to Kamchatka in the Far East from Southern Russia by sea. The Defense Ministry says it’s already been unloaded and taken to its permanent location near the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Russian S-300 missile systems capable of targeting near space ‘enter service’ (RT, March 12, 2015):

Near space targets can now be hit by Russian army’s mobile tactical air defense S-300 and S-400 systems as a much anticipated long-range missile enters service. It is designed to engage hard targets such as nuclear warheads, rather than satellites.

The news about a mobile version of an exo-atmospheric missile system has been around since the 1990s, and throughout the 2000s it was expected “in a little while.” But the result obtained is worth the years of hard effort.

The new 40N6 missile guarantees a direct hit on a target at a range of 400 kilometers and at heights of up to 185 kilometers – effectively near space.

Russia Has Equipped Syria With Their Most Advanced Supersonic P-800 Yakhont Anti-Ship Missiles

Putin cannot afford to sell out Syria and to lose …

… the last ally in the Middle East besides Iran,

… the last operational seaport in the Mediterranian,

… all credibility in and outside Russia,

… nor can he allow that Russia’s advanced (& feared!) military technology (S-300, P-800 and soon also the S-400 & the TOC-1) will fall into the hands of the U.S. (and its short list of allies),

… or can he?

Russia Has Equipped Syria With Their Most Advanced Anti-Ship Missiles (Investment Watch, Sep. 2, 2013):

Russia has sold Syria highly advanced rocket launchers, anti-aircraft missiles and anti-ship missiles.  In fact, the P-800 Yakhont anti-ship missiles that Russia has equipped Syria with are the most advanced anti-ship missiles that Russia has.  When the United States strikes Syria, they might be quite surprised at how hard Syria can hit back.  The Syrian military is the most formidable adversary that the U.S. military has tangled with in the Middle East by far.  From Syria, P-800 Yakhont anti-ship missiles can cover much of the eastern Mediterranean and can even reach air bases in Cyprus.  If the U.S. Navy is not very careful to stay out of range, we could easily see footage of destroyed U.S. naval vessels sinking into the Mediterranean Sea on the evening news.  And once the American people see such footage, it will be impossible to stop a full-blown war between the United States and Syria.

Syria has highly advanced weapons systems that Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya did not have.  Anyone that thinks that we can just sit back and lob cruise missiles at them is being naive.  Syria has weapons that “have never before been seen” in the Middle East.  The following is from a recent article by Mac Slavo

William Engdahl On Syria: Is Obama Arming Al Qaeda To Topple Assad?

Is Obama arming Al Qaeda to topple Assad? (Veterans Today, June 25, 2013):

By F. William Engdahl

After two years of hesitating, US President Barack Obama announced he will deliver arms to the Syrian rebels, citing unverified “proof” that the troops of the Syrian Bashar Al-Assad government used Sarin gas against so-called opposition rebels. The Obama flip-flop is bizarre and reveals a President under enormous pressure to detonate a war whose consequences may well bring the world into a Third World War.

Clinton and Netanyahu allied

According to a report in the New York Times, it was nasty pressure from former US President Bill Clinton, along with a series of nasty initiatives from Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu, Republican warhawks like John McCain, who tipped Obama to active intervention.[1] Even former Presidential national security adviser, Zbigniew Brzezinski, by no means a peace dove, went on US national TV to deride the Obama decision: “I think our posture is baffling, there no strategic design, we’re using slogans,” stated Brzezinski on MSNBC’s Morning Joe Friday. “It’s a tragedy and it’s a mess in the making. I do not see what the United States right now is trying to accomplish.” [2]

He added, “we are running the risk of getting into another war in the region which may last for years and I don’t see any real strategic guidance to what we are doing. I see a lot of rhetoric, a lot emotion, a lot of propaganda in fact.” [3]

The same Brzezinski in an interview with a Paris daily, boasted it had been his policy to arm the Mujihadeen Muslim Salafists, including a then-young Saudi named Osama bin-Laden, to actually provoke a Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979.[4]

Also according to reliable sources close to the Pentagon, the US military is opposed to another war in the Islamic world after suffering the debacles of Afghanistan and Iraq.

And if so,  which I highly doubt, then Russia would also have to make absolutely sure that these advanced technologies will never fall into the ‘wrong hands’.

The S-400 Triumf (SA-21 Growler) is designed to intercept and effectively engage airborne targets, including stealth aircraft, cruise and ballistic missiles, at ranges of up to 3,500 kilometers (2,200 miles) and speeds of up to 4.8 kilometers (3 miles) per second.

Russia:”Syria Will Be Armed With Weapons That Have Never Been Seen Before In the Middle East” (SHFT Plan, June 22, 2013):

Last week, Noble Peace Prize winner President Barrack Obama advised that his administration would be arming the Free Syrian Army with weapons to resist the armies of Syria’s President Bashar Assad. Furthermore, they would look to implement a Libya-style no-fly zone over the country, which like Libya, would likely involve widespread carpet bombing of suspected military strongholds and control centers.

With boots on the ground around Syria’s borders, the United States is without a doubt preparing for widespread engagement across the region yet again, with the aim of the new U.S. supplied weapons being more killing and destruction in a civil war that has left tens of thousands dead in the last year.

It is the assumption of the Obama administration that these weapons will tip the scales of power in favor of the rebels, many of whom have been identified as members of America’s arch enemy, Al Queda.

But Russia’s KGB-hardened President Vladimir Putin has other ideas.

This week, according to a British intelligence report, Putin reportedly passed on a diplomatic communique to the United States and France using British Prime Minister David Cameron as the intermediary.

Ultimate defense: Russian S-400 undergoes firing exercise (PHOTOS, VIDEO) (RT, Aug 23, 2012):

Planes, helicopters and even ballistic missiles – name a flying target, and the S-400 Triumph missile system can probably locate it and hunt it down. The system recently demonstrated all its glory during a tactical exercise at Russia’s Alushuk base.

One of the strongest features of S-400 air defense system is its mobility. A full-scale air defense system can literally be created on the ground, anywhere, within minutes.

Each S-400 system consists of several crucial elements. In addition to the launcher, there is a command post and two radars.

One of the radars monitors the skies, searching for targets. After a target is identified, the second radar starts monitoring it, following its course. In the meantime the command makes the call on whether to eliminate the target.
