New fuel tank insulation problems have grounded a sizeable percentage of the US Air Force’s F-35s. Now that the issue has been identified, the Pentagon is attempting to spin the repairs as a cost-saving measure.
On Friday, the US Air Force issued a temporary stand-down order for 13 of its 104 F-35 fighters, citing “the discovery of peeling and crumbling insulation in avionics cooling lines inside the fueling tanks.”…
