New Jersey Threatens To Take 13-Year-Old Student From His Father Due To ‘Non-Conforming Behavior’

New Jersey Threatens to Take 13-Year-Old Student From His Father Due to “Non-Conforming Behavior” (Liberty Blitzkrieg, June 11, 2014):

While this story is not new, I must have missed it back in April when it first broke and it is absolutely incredible. The reason I am posting on it today is because we have new information which turns an already shocking story into something far more terrifying. So let’s get into some background first.

This is the story of Ethan Chaplin, who back in April was twirling a pencil in his seventh grade classroom in Vernon, NJ. One of the class bullies saw an opportunity to be a jerk and yelled: “He’s making gun motions, send him to juvie.”

Rather than demonstrating any sort of common sense, the teacher apparently had a panic attack and reported him, which resulted in a two-day suspension. Here’s what Vernon Superintendent Charles Maranzano had to say about it:

“We’re responsible for their mental and physical health and safety and security. When a student misbehaves or displays actions that are non-conforming or don’t meet our expectations, it causes us some concerns.”

I guess I don’t understand what schools are like these days, but the classes I grew up in were filled to the brim with misbehavior to the extent that a twirling pencil would be seen as a positive indicator of student interaction. Somehow, we all survived.

As if that part of the story isn’t bizarre enough, Ethan wasn’t allowed to return to class until he underwent a psychological evaluation in which he was forced to strip and give blood samples that caused him to pass out (sounds a lot like how police in New Mexico force anal probes on citizens for no reason).

Amazingly, the saga manages to get even worse. Just today, we find out that New Jersey is threatening to take Ethan away from his father. Incredibly, the state is claiming that the prior psychological evaluation wasn’t sufficient and more testing needs to be done. Since his father Michael is pushing back, the loss of custodianship has been threatened. Absolutely insane.

Here’s a must watch short video from PIX11 News on the incident:

I suppose this is an example of that amazing “quality of life” Chris Christie keeps referring to…

This Huffington Post article from early April was the source of much of the information in this post.

  1. I am so glad I am not raising a child today. There is no way he or she could be in a public school. The mindless that attend make it even worse, and the fear based ruling of the teachers and administration makes it worse.
In Catholic schools (talk about a step back to the Dark Ages) a teacher now has to sign a morality contract. Teach no birth control, urge them to abstain, you must attend Mass every week, and teach your students Catholic Doctrine. You also have to promise to live according to Church rules or be fired.
I could not raise a child in this nation. I went to a Catholic High School after Vatican II, and it was a wonderful, open minded, expansive educational process. Girls from all over the world came to study there, it was one of the highest rated in the state of CA. In those days, it was a boarding school, we had horses, animals, Olympic swimming pool……it was a beautiful and open place to study. It was so highly rated, it only had to be re-certified every five years. Most schools were re-certified every three.
When I think of those years, and what I see today, I am horrified. Today, the boarding school is long gone, they have a charter school for the under-privileged today……a complete opposite of what it was when I attended.
    But, they get government funding………
Public schools have armed cops walking the halls. I understand they are no longer allowed lockers…..it has gone mad, just like our leaders.
The breakdown in our schools, the interference into the lives of everyone is destroying everything this nation ever stood for, invasive bureaucrats are everywhere.
Nothing surprises me. I am so grateful to be at the end of my life, instead of starting out now. I didn’t like public schools 50 years ago, thought the students were too low class. I sure would not like the schools of today…..God only knows what would have happened to me.
The world has gone mad. The US is collapsing, and nothing is going to survive.

  2. Well I have a 1 year old. Non conformity? Wonder what the establishment thinks of me? I know I/we are going to have problems when she starts school because I am not one to be intimidated or bullied. I def will not allow my child to be bullied by adults! I will be raising my child the same way. Stick up for those less fortunate, help those in need of it and never be afraid to go against the flow…….
