– This Is Why Obama Missed Netanyahu’s Speech Today (ZeroHedge, March 3, 2015):
By far the most important geopolitical event of the day, as straight-to-C Span-poluist-pandering as it may have been, was Israel Prime Minister’s address to congress, in which for nearly one hour the Israeli leader bashed Iran, stopping just shy of fabricating even more evidence about how close Iran is to developing a nuclear weapon. Yet one person missed everything including the standing ovation at the end: president Barack Obama. As it turns out he had more important things to do, such as the following.
What exactly is Obama doing in the photo above? As Politico explains, “Speaking in the Oval Office with Defense Secretary Ash Carter and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey, Obama said he was unable to watch because he was meeting with European leaders via video conference.” A meeting in which the western world brain trust was discussing what… how to best confiscate the funds of broke Greek pensioners to fund the broke US puppet government in Kiev, so they can pay their bills to Gazprom for one more week using the IMF as a conduit?
Whatever the greater purpose, Obama had nothing but disdain for his Israeli peer’s proposal, or lack thereof.
“On the core issue, which is how do we prevent Iran from obtaining a
nuclear weapon, which would make it far more dangerous and give it scope for even greater action in the region, the prime minister didn’t offer any viable alternatives,” Obama said, adding that he had looked at the transcript and saw “nothing new.”It got so bad, Obama himself took a swipe at Netanyahu’s fabrication of redlined “proof” before the UN general assembly:
“Keep in mind that when we came to the interim deal, Prime Minister Netanyahu made almost the precise same speech about how dangerous that deal was going to be,” Obama told reporters, according to a pool report. “And yet over a year later, even Israeli intelligence officers and in some members of the Israeli government have acknowledged that in fact it has kept Iran from further pursuing a nuclear program.”
And then the whole thing went first downhill when for some inexplicable reason Nancy Pelos decided to get involved, issuing a bizarre statement:
“The unbreakable bonds between the United States and Israel are rooted in our shared values, our common ideals and mutual interests. Ours is a deep and abiding friendship that will always reach beyond party. Americans stand shoulder to shoulder with the Israeli people. The state of Israel stands as the greatest political achievement of the 20th century, and the United States will always have an unshakable commitment to Israel’s security.
“That is why, as one who values the U.S. – Israel relationship, and loves Israel, I was near tears throughout the Prime Minister’s speech – saddened by the insult to the intelligence of the United States as part of the P5 +1 nations, and saddened by the condescension toward our knowledge of the threat posed by Iran and our broader commitment to preventing nuclear proliferation.
… and then positively surreal when Lindsey Graham decided to redirect entirely from the topic at hand and to focus on Pelosi’s countless plastic surgeries:
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) apologized for mocking House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s physical appearance during a closed-door fundraiser following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress.
While noting that she had appeared irritated on the House floor, he speculated that she had undergone plastic surgery, Bloomberg View columnist Josh Rogin reported Tuesday.
“Did you see Nancy Pelosi on the floor. Complete disgust,” he said, according to the Bloomberg report. “If you can get through all the surgeries, there’s disgust.”
Leading to this…
If the reported quote by Sen. Graham about Leader Pelosi is accurate, he owes her an apology.

and then this…
“I made a very poor attempt at humor to talk about [Pelosi’s] reaction, and for that I apologize,” Graham was reported as saying.
And so on as both the executive and the legislative devolved into what they are best known for around the globe: a constant source of humorous embarrassment, made possible due to the Mr. Chairmanwoman “getting to work” each and every day for the past 7 years, and making the “job” of America’s elected representatives one of simply focusing on trading on inside information, pretending to pass laws, and to belong to either the ideological “left” or “right” when in reality all the muppets in Congress do is get richer, working on behalf of none other than Goldman Sachs.
