Remembrance Day parade of WW1 tank through Lincoln banned over health and safety fears

Remembrance Day parade of WW1 tank through Lincoln banned over health and safety fears:

“UTTERLY ridiculous” health and safety zealots have killed off a plan to drive a First World War tank on Remembrance Day through the city where they were invented.

TV presenter Guy Martin had planned to drive down Lincoln High Street on November 11 as part of a documentary to commemorate the first use of tanks in modern war.

It was hoped the show would culminate with the star and his eight man crew joining the Remembrance Day parade in Lincoln where the first tanks were built.

But producers have been forced to axe the event after talks with the local council and police, sparking fury from City residents.

The replica Mark IV British tank, top speed 4mph, will still feature in the documentary but it is believed the filming will take place in France instead.
