RAF fleet of Sentry early warning planes grounded after wiring fault

RAF fleet of Sentry early warning planes grounded after wiring fault:

The RAF’s fleet of Sentry early warning aircraft has been taken out of action after wiring faults were discovered that could have caused a fire.

The six E-3D Sentry aircraft have been grounded for the past fortnight and will not be operational for several more weeks.

The precaution has meant two of the airborne warning and control jets have been pulled out of the international coalition against Islamic State as the offensive against Mosul is underway and the attack on Raqqa is imminent.

H/t reader squodgy:

“Why do I get the feeling this is a cover up over issues of vulnerability to Vlad’s EMP jamming capacity?”
