US Considers Military Option Against Syria
America’s rage for global dominance through brute force makes geopolitical conditions today more perilous than any previous time in world history.
Hugely dangerous flashpoint conditions in Syria show Washington heading recklessly toward confronting Russia militarily – unthinkable if occurs, increasingly likely given today’s events.
Neocons infesting Washington want Assad ousted, putting them at loggerheads with Russia’s support for Syrian sovereign independence, territorial integrity and right of its people alone to choose who’ll lead them, free from outside interference in accordance with international law America consistently breaches.
On Tuesday, deputy State Department spokesman Mark Toner said the Obama administration is considering “a range of (military and other) options.”
“We always…consider unilateral options when looking at a situation like Syria” – including direct US military action against Damascus and government forces, dramatically increasing the likelihood of US/Russia confrontation.
John Kerry and other US hawks favor it, shamelessly condemning Putin and Assad for Obama’s high crimes, complicit with rogue partners.
According to the Washington Post, a Wednesday meeting of “top national security officials” will consider US military action on Damascus and Syrian forces – a reckless act if ordered, upping the stakes hugely, on the phony pretext of “pressur(ing) (Assad) to come back to the negotiating table in a serious way.”
He and Russia are falsely blamed for US-supported terrorists’ ceasefire violations – 300 times in seven days following implementation of Geneva terms.
US tactics considered include “bombing Syrian air force runways using cruise missiles and other long-range weapons fired from coalition planes and ships…covertly without public acknowledgment” because of lack of Security Council authorization. Attacking Syria risks direct confrontation with Russia, a potential nuclear war scenario.
On Tuesday, Moscow announced it positioned a battery of sophisticated S-300 air defense missiles at its Tartus naval base in Syria, Defense Ministry spokesman General Igor Konashenkov saying they’re in place “to ensure the safety of the naval base” and Russian ships near Syria’s coast.
It’s most advanced S-400s are installed at Russia’s Khmeimin base in Syria to protect its aircraft and ground personnel involved in combating US-supported terrorists.
On Wednesday, Russian upper house Federation Council international affairs committee chairman Konstantin Kosachev accused Washington of intending to forcibly oust Assad, saying:
“This is road to nowhere, as a forcible change of power, including through support of the opposition from outside, will only replay the scenario we’ve seen in Iraq and Libya, and will lead to disintegration and destabilization.” It risks direct US Russia confrontation.
Assad blasted America’s hegemonic agenda, saying it seeks dominance “over other states (in its quest for) unilateral control over the world…”
It’s “waging wars (of aggression) with the goal (of) cement(ing) total control by launching attacks on everyone…oppos(ing) its” hegemonic agenda.
During the post-Cold War period, America succeeded only in “creating problems and destroying states, no more than that.” It’s using terrorists in waging war on Syria.
On Tuesday, US-supported death squads struck Russia’s Damascus embassy compound with mortar shells, no injuries reported. Moscow’s Foreign Ministry said shelling came from areas these elements control. More may follow threatening its embassy and personnel.
Separately, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said Obama administration security operatives threaten its US-based diplomats and family members.
According to Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, “(i)n the past two-and-a-half years, attempts to recruit our personnel have become visibly more frequent, and American security services descend to most unpleasant methods of pressure, up to threats to the heath of family members.”
“The normal functioning of our diplomatic missions is prevented through artificial difficulties to official contacts, and other far-fetched restrictions.”
These and similar tactics are systematically undermining bilateral relations. Given incendiary conditions in Syria, war between the world’s dominant nuclear powers grows increasingly likely – a potential doomsday scenario if launched.
Hugely dangerous flashpoint conditions in Syria head America increasingly closer to war on Russia – an unthinkable clash between the world’s dominant nuclear powers, madness perhaps becoming reality if Hillary succeeds Obama.
Launching it would risk a potential doomsday scenario, a reckless red line crossed, a rubicon of no return, humanity threatened like never before.
Imagine the devastating aftermath. Events would make post-9/11 ones seem almost inconsequential by comparison. Virtually certain martial law and constitutional suspension would follow, full-blown tyranny replacing what remains of rule of law governance.
All forms of media and public expression would be tightly controlled, including online content, prohibiting news, information and opinions opposing US policies.
Anyone considered a threat to national security would be automatically arrested, detained, prosecuted, imprisoned or assassinated – habeas and due process rights denied, henceforth null and void.
Police and other forms of security force brutality would make policies in place today seem minor by comparison. No one would be safe.
Conditions under Nazi Germany would be replicated. Middle of the night arrests would be commonplace. So would mass detentions of designated enemies of the state.
Things would become intolerable. Soldiers and military hardware would be deployed to keep order. America would be at war with its own people. Writers like myself would be eliminated if we dared speak out responsibly.
Of greatest concern would be the devastating effects of likely nuclear war. US cities and communities would be immolated, many millions killed.
In her book titled Nuclear Madness, Helen Caldicott explained the devastating effects of nuclear war – saying its technology alone “threatens life on our planet with extinction.”
“If present trends continue, the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink will soon be contaminated with enough radioactive pollutants to pose a potential health hazard far greater than any plague humanity has ever experienced,” she explained.
Nuclear war would risk almost certain doom. A previous article described its devastating effects – able to incinerate New York or other US cities with unimaginable force.
Firestorm intensity would vaporize structures within a couple of miles of ground zero, turning areas like Manhattan to smoldering ruin. Everything within five miles of ground zero would be destroyed or heavily damaged.
People surviving the blast in affected areas would suffocate from fire-generated gases or be cooked alive from oven-like temperatures.
Ten miles downwind would be devastated by radioactive fallout. All this and more from one thermonuclear bomb.
Imagine dozens immolating US cities, nationwide devastation, humanity threatened with extinction if enough detonations occur.
Einstein said splitting the atom “changed everything save our modes of thinking, and thus we drift toward unparalleled catastrophe.”
Either we end these weapons of mass destruction or they’ll end us.

“Everything calls peace, Schalom! Then it will occur – a new Middle East war suddenly flames up, big naval forces are facing hostiley in the Mediterranean – the situation is strained. But the actual firing spark is set on fire in the Balkan: I see a “large one” falling, a bloody dagger lies beside him – then impact is on impact. …”
