- 19-year-old arrested in Devon over Manchester attack
- Greater Manchester police begins review of murder and rape convictions obtained using forensic firm
- Victim, currently serving time for affray, demands compensation
- His lawyer demands public inquiry. Scores of other cases could now be reopened
A DNA blunder led to a teenager spending three months behind bars after he was accused of rape in a city he had never even visited.
Adam Scott, from Truro, Cornwall, was charged with attacking a woman in a park in Manchester, after his DNA sample was mixed with that of the attacker’s that had been taken from the victim.
He had provided the swab in connection with an unrelated crime that was also being processed at a laboratory run by LGC Forensics.
The company, based in Teddington, south-west London, is one of three forensic firms in the UK used specifically for DNA crime-scene testing.
It handles tens of thousands of samples for police forces across the country – and this cross-contamination could now see many cases having to be reopened.
Mr Scott’s lawyer has called for a public inquiry.

The Pentagon has just released a report indicating a rise in reports of sexual assault in military academies. This young former Marine speaks or her own continual sexual harassment, brutal assault and rape by multiple Marines serving with her while at Paris Island, North Carolina and continuing during her training at Ft. Meade, Maryland.
She says efforts to seek help from military M.D.s fell on deaf ears despite intense trauma that left her with cervical damage, unrelenting nightmares and in constant fear. After seeing what happened to other women when they did report being raped, this soldier went U.A. with the support of her family. She was picked up and jailed before being discharged without benefits.
This video was originally put out on Facebook with the title: “Former Marine: Military Sexual Assault and Rape are Norm in A Culture of Violence.” Deborah felt the title above was more fitting. However posts on FB are still coming up with the older title. If anyone knows how to correct this technical problem please let us know. While MST may not be the “norm” in the military environment, it’s prevalence is unacceptable and must be stopped. Please do not take the original title as Deborah’s personal statement. Thank you.

“… the Marine Corps said she must have welcomed the assaults because she wore make up and skirts – which were part of her regulated uniform – and exercised in running shorts …”

– One in five American women ‘has been raped’ (Independent, Dec. 16, 2011):
More than one in five women questioned for a US survey reported having been raped. Nearly a third of all women said they had experienced episodes of sexual assault, physical violence or stalking at the hands of an intimate partner.
The study, compiled by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, offers a disturbing glimpse into the private lives of women in America, particularly to abuse within a relationship that often goes unreported.
Nearing the end of this violation, I sobbed even louder as the woman, FOUR TIMES, stuck the side of her gloved hand INTO my vagina, through my pants. Between my labia. She really got up there. Four times. Back right and left, and front right and left. In my vagina. Between my labia. I was shocked — utterly unprepared for how she got the side of her hand up there. It was government-sanctioned sexual assault.
Upon leaving, still sobbing, I yelled to the woman, “YOU RAPED ME.” And I took her name to see if I could file sexual assault charges on my return. This woman, and all of those who support this system deserve no less than this sort of unpleasant experience, and from all of us.
– FBI’s new definition of rape ensnares TSA agents as serial rapists (Natural News, Dec. 8, 2011):
The definition of “rape” was expanded this week by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Criminal Justice Advisory Policy Board, following a barrage of emails from feminist activists who demanded change. The old definition was too narrow, many women argued, and needed to be updated. For one thing, it didn’t cover rape by women against women, or men against men, and we’ve all seen just how much of that goes on these days thanks to organizations like Penn State and the Catholic Church.
So in October, the FBI’s UCR subcommittee Advisory Policy Board voted to recommend the definition be expanded. The new definition of rape, which looks set to be “officially” adopted by the FBI in 2012, is as follows:
“Rape” is: …penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.”
FBI’s definition ensnares TSA agents as serial rapists
Here’s the kicker in all this: According to this definition of rape, the federal government’s TSA agents are serial rapists.
– Afghan woman to be freed from jail after agreeing to marry rapist (Guardian, Dec. 1, 2011):
President intervenes in case of 19-year-old woman who has spent two years in jail after reporting rape by a relative
An Afghan woman jailed for adultery after she was raped by a relative is set to be freed – but only after agreeing to marry the man who attacked her.
The case, which has highlighted the plight of Afghan women jailed for so-called moral crimes, was to be the subject of a documentary film funded by the European Union – until diplomats censored it out of fear for the woman’s welfare, and for their relations with the Afghan government.
But the decision not to broadcast the film, unintentionally led to a storm of publicity that has resulted in the Afghan president, Hamid Karzai, intervening in the case of the 19-year-old woman, named Gulnaz.
Karzai, who will soon head to an international conference on Afghanistan in Bonn to seek financial support from foreign donors, ordered Gulnaz to be released on condition that she and her attacker agree to mediation.
In a statement released on Thursday night, the presidential palace said Gulnaz would be released after she agreed to become the second wife of her rapist – a prospect that supporters say she had dreaded.
In Afghan culture, marrying the father of a child born out of wedlock is seen as a way of “legitimising” the child, even in cases involving rape.
The documentary’s British director, Clementine Malpas, said Gulnaz’s decision would have been made under duress. “She has told me that the rapist had destroyed her life because no one else would marry her after what happened to her,” Malpas said. “She feels like she has no other option than to marry him and it’s the only way to bring peace between her and his family.
“I know she wants honour but I also know she doesn’t want to marry this man. And of course I am worried about what the future holds for her because of this decision.”
– Sheriff: Time For Citizens To Arm Themselves (WYFF, Oct. 31, 2011):

A “ludicrous publicity stunt.” ?????
– Abuse Victims Seek Court Case Against Pope (TIME, Sept. 13, 2011):
(THE HAGUE, Netherlands) — Clergy sex abuse victims upset that no high-ranking Roman Catholic leaders have been prosecuted for sheltering guilty priests have turned to the International Criminal Court, seeking an investigation of the pope and top Vatican cardinals for possible crimes against humanity. The Vatican called the move a “ludicrous publicity stunt.”
The Center for Constitutional Rights, a New York-based nonprofit legal group, requested the inquiry Tuesday on behalf of the U.S.-based Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, arguing that the global church has maintained a “long-standing and pervasive system of sexual violence” despite promises to swiftly oust predators.
The Vatican’s U.S. lawyer, Jeffrey Lena, called the complaint a “ludicrous publicity stunt and a misuse of international judicial processes” in a statement to The Associated Press.
The complaint names Pope Benedict XVI, partly in his former role as leader of the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which in 2001 explicitly gained responsibility for overseeing abuse cases; Cardinal William Levada, who now leads that office; Cardinal Angelo Sodano, the Vatican secretary of state under Pope John Paul II; and Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, who now holds that post.
“Conspiracy of Silence” is a powerful, disturbing documentary revealing a nationwide child abuse and pedophilia ring that leads to the highest levels of government. Featuring intrepid investigator John DeCamp, a highly decorated Vietnam war veteran and 16-year Nebraska state senator, “Conspiracy of Silence” reveals how rogue elements at all levels of government have been involved in systematic child abuse and pedophilia to feed the base desires of key politicians.
Based on DeCamp’s riveting book, The Franklin Cover-up, “Conspiracy of Silence” begins with the shut-down of Nebraska’s Franklin Community Federal Credit Union after a raid by federal agencies in November 1988 revealed that $40 million was missing. When the Nebraska legislature launched a probe into the affair, what initially looked like a financial swindle soon exploded into a startling tale of drugs, money laundering, and a nationwide child abuse ring. Nineteen months later, the legislative committee’s chief investigator died suddenly and violently, like more than a dozen other people linked to the Franklin case.
In case you find the claims in the video below far fetched:
“The truth is, there is no Islamic army or terrorist group called Al Qaeda. And any informed intelligence officer knows this. But there is a propaganda campaign to make the public believe in the presence of an identified entity representing the ‘devil’ only in order to drive the TV watcher to accept a unified international leadership for a war against terrorism. The country behind this propaganda is the US.”
