State Dept: Israeli Settlements, Lack of Hope Drive Palestinian Violence

State Dept: Israeli Settlements, Lack of Hope Drive Palestinian Violence:

The US State Department’s annual terror report offers a surprising amount of criticism of Israel, uncharacteristic for the Trump Administration, which has made a point of being outspokenly favorable toward the Israeli government from day one.

The report detailed several lone-offender attacks by Palestinians against Israelis, as it does every year. But the report went a lot further, saying that Israeli government policy toward the Palestinians was in no small part driving the violence.

Israeli Bulldozers Demolish Palestinian Village for 114th Time in Seven Years:

Israeli bulldozers flattened a village inhabited by the ancient Palestinian Bedouins, a tribe that has lived on the land for thousands of years. Israeli authorities have systematically run the indigenous Bedouins off of their land to pave the way for Jewish-only settlements.

(MPN) — Israel Land Authority (ILA) officials, along with Israeli police and several bulldozers, raided and then demolished the Bedouin village of al-Araqib in the Negev region this week.

Stephen Lendman: Palestine Burns While Trump Lauds Zionist Extremism

Palestine Burns While Trump Lauds Zionist Extremism:

Palestine is a virtual open-air prison, besieged Gaza worst of all, Trump oblivious and uncaring about deplorable conditions. More on this below.

Together with Netanyahu in Jerusalem, he “reaffirmed the unbreakable bond of friendship between Israel and the United States…built on our shared love of freedom, our shared belief in human dignity, and our shared hope for…Israel to have peace.”

Fact: America and Israel deplore peace and stability, partnering in endless wars, seeking unchallenged dominance, wanting the Middle East map redrawn to their advantage, eliminating Syrian and Iranian sovereign independence, keeping Palestinians subjugated under occupation harshness.

Stephen Lendman: Israeli Occupation Viciousness: A Personal Story

Israeli Occupation Viciousness: A Personal Story:

By Stephen Lendman

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) explained the anguish of one of countless Palestinian victims.

Mohammad Allain is a lawyer, an East Jerusalem resident. He deals exclusively with Israeli house demolition issues. He’s now dealing with his own, victimized by Israeli collective punishment.

Recounting his story, he said “I am now talking as a father and not as a lawyer.” In October 2015, Israeli soldiers killed his son, Bahaa, claiming he attacked their ranks – the usual fabricated pretext to justify cold-blooded murder.

Israeli soldiers occupy home of Palestinian family during Pesach, al-Khalil

Israeli soldiers occupy home of Palestinian family during Pesach, al-Khalil:

A Palestinian family living in the Old City of al-Khalil were subject to nightly home intrusions by Israeli forces throughout the week leading up to Pesach, or Passover. On Wednesday 12th April, ISM activists visited the home on Shalallah Street before staying with the family overnight to monitor the situation.

The father of the family told ISM activists how six soldiers would arrive at the house at roughly 2 am, banging aggressively on the door with their M16 rifles before forcibly making their way up to the roof of the family home. These incursions occurred several times throughout the week as the same soldiers would arrive in the middle of the night to access and occupy the roof where they would sit for just one hour before leaving again through the family home.

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas invited to White House by Donald Trump

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas invited to White House by Donald Trump:

A spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said the U.S. president on Friday invited him to visit the White House to discuss resuming peace talks, the first contact between the two leaders since Donald Trump took office in January.

Spokesman Nabil Abu Rdeneh said Abbas received “a very important call” from Trump in which he was invited to the White House, and that he would attend “very soon.”

White House press secretary Sean Spicer confirmed the invitation to Abbas.

Ex-officials: Israeli leader spurned secret peace offer:

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel’s prime minister turned down a regional peace initiative last year that was brokered by then-American Secretary of State John Kerry, former U.S. officials confirmed Sunday, in apparent contradiction to his stated goal of involving regional Arab powers in resolving Israel’s conflict with the Palestinians.

In Surprise Move, Trump Turns to Neutrality to Push Peace Between Israel, Palestine

In Surprise Move, Trump Turns to Neutrality to Push Peace Between Israel, Palestine:

While on the campaign trail, President Donald Trump disappointed many supporters of Israel’s current prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. At the time, the Republican nominee “placed the burden of a peace deal firmly with Israel” alone, Haaretz reported. “A lot will have to do with Israel and whether or not Israel wants to make the deal – whether or not Israel’s willing to sacrifice certain things,” Trump said.

Despite the faux pas, Trump continued to profess his commitment to Israel, promising to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and going as far as to claim he would be Israel’s “closest friend” if he won the presidency. But perhaps one of his most talked about comments regarding Israel involved settlements.

Israel approves 560 new illegal homes in E. Jerusalem as Trump takes office

Israel approves 560 new illegal homes in E. Jerusalem as Trump takes office:

Israel has approved an additional 560 housing units to be constructed as part of its illegal settlement-building initiative in occupied East Jerusalem. The announcement comes 48 hours after Donald Trump took office as the 45th US president.

Israel Radio talked to the Chairman of Jerusalem city hall’s Planning and Building committee, Meir Turgeman, who said the permits had been in the works, but delayed until Barack Obama was out of office.

“I was told to wait until Trump takes office because he has no problem with building in Jerusalem,” Turgeman told Israel Radio, adding that there were hundreds more units awaiting approval.

Why Palestinian children throw stones

Why Palestinian children throw stones:

Forget the empty posturing of world leaders in Paris yesterday. This photo (copyright: Nedal Eshtayah/Anadolu Agency) tells us what the Israel-Palestine “conflict” is really about.

Imagine for a second that the little boy – how old is he, eight, nine? – is your son, trying to adjust his keffiyeh because it keeps falling over his eyes and he can’t see anything. Image your small son surrounded by masked Israeli “soldiers”, or what looks more like a Jewish militia than an army. Imagine that the boy is likely soon to be bundled into the back of a military van and taken for interrogation without his parents or a lawyer present, or even knowing where he is. That he could end up beaten and tortured, as human rights groups have regularly documented.

Maybe you can’t imagine any of that because you, a responsible parent living in Europe or the United States, would never let your child out to throw stones.

Then you need to know more about the story behind this picture.

Oct 16, 2015

Description:

October 12 A ?Palestinian woman from Haifa attacked and detained by [Jewish] ?Israeli passersby in Tel Aviv. Passers-by are arguing about whether or not to beat and kill her. One woman claims she saw she had a knife and screams and demands her execution. Someone kicks her in the head.
