U.S. Ready to Offer Mercenaries $10 Billion for a Drug-War Air Force (Wired, Dec 4 , 2012):

Unsure how your private security firm makes money as the U.S. war in Afghanistan winds down? One option: Go into the drug trade — more specifically, the lucrative business of fighting narcotics. The State Department needs a business partner to keep its fleet of drug-hunting helicopters and planes flying worldwide. You could make up to $10 billion-with-a-B.

Starting next month in Melbourne, Florida, the State Department will solicit some defense-industry feedback on a contract to help operate its 412 aircraft, based in at least eight nations, before it reopens the contract for bidding. Among the missions the diplomatic corps needs fulfilled: “Provide pilots and operational support for drug interdiction missions such as crop spraying, and the transport of personnel and cargo,” according to a pre-solicitation the department’s bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs released on Friday.

From its headquarters at Florida’s Patrick Air Force Base, the State Department directs 51,000 annual hours worth of air operations. In Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Pakistan, and Guatemala, it mostly performs “counternarcotics and law enforcement activities,” explains State Department spokeswoman Pooja Jhunjhunwala, and in Afghanistan it does transportation support as well. Diplomats at the mega-embassy in Iraq also rely on State’s contractor air fleet to move about the country. And in recent years, that fleet has also needed to perform short-term air missions in Sudan, Honduras, Malta, Libya and Egypt. Private-security giant DynCorp currently holds the contract for supporting the diplomatic fleet.

His career has included extensive experience in international banking along with such diverse areas as consulting on counter insurgency, defense technologies or acting as diplomatic representative for UN humanitarian and economic development efforts. Gordon Duff has traveled to over 80 nations. His articles are published around the world and translated into a number of languages. He is regularly on TV and radio, a popular and sometimes controversial guest.

CIA-operated drones protect drug lords in Pakistan: Duff (PressTV, Dec 3, 2012):

An analyst says Obama’s drone strikes on Pakistan are war crimes and are not to target terrorists, but to secure an 80 billion dollar US opium empire.

In the background of this, the United Nations has condemned Washington over these illegal drone strikes that have killed hundreds of civilians and even whole families in northwestern Pakistan. The Pakistani government has also complained that the war provocations violate Pakistan’s sovereignty and has also been criticized for their lack of resistance exercised against the continuing strikes. Targets for killing are approved personally by President Obama holding up the United States as judge, jury and executioner from what has become known as Obama’s kill list.

Press TV has interviewed Mr. Gordon Duff, Senior Editor of Veterans today, Ohio about this issue. The following is an approximate transcription of the interview.

… for the CIA and its overlords.

Pentagon Wants to Keep Running Its Afghan Drug War From Blackwater’s HQ (Wired, Nov 21, 2012):

The U.S. war in Afghanistan is supposed to be winding down. Its contractor-led drug war? Not so much.

Inside a compound in Kabul called Camp Integrity, the Pentagon stations a small group of officers to oversee the U.S. military’s various operations to curb the spread of Afghanistan’s cash crops of heroin and marijuana, which help line the Taliban’s pockets. Only Camp Integrity isn’t a U.S. military base at all. It’s the 10-acre Afghanistan headquarters of the private security company formerly known as Blackwater.

Those officers work for an obscure Pentagon agency called the Counter Narco-Terrorism Program Office, or CNTPO. Quietly, it’s grown into one of the biggest dispensers of cash for private security contractors in the entire U.S. government: One pile of contracts last year from CNTPO was worth more than $3 billion. And it sees a future for itself in Afghanistan over the long haul.

Afghanistan: Opium Cultivation Rose Substantially In 2012 (New York Times)

Opium Cultivation Rose This Year in Afghanistan, U.N. Survey Shows (New York Times, Nov 21, 2012):

KABUL, Afghanistan — Opium poppy cultivation rose substantially in 2012 in an “alarming” trend, despite a major opium eradication effort by Afghan governors, United Nations officials said Tuesday as they released the organization’s 2012 opium survey, which was undertaken with the Afghan Ministry of Counternarcotics. The higher cultivation levels were driven by high prices for the crop as well as instability in the main growing areas, which made it easier for farmers and traffickers to operate. Another factor was the lack of a governmentwide commitment to counternarcotics, said Jean-Luc Lemahieu, the chief of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for Afghanistan.

Poppy cultivation nationwide increased by 18 percent between 2011 and 2012, with a similar increase in Helmand Province, the biggest opium-producing region, despite an aggressive campaign by the governor to eradicate the crop and promote alternative jobs.

Afghanistan is the world’s largest producer of opium, the raw material for heroin, with its farmers harvesting about 80 percent of the world supply. Large quantities of Afghan heroin are exported to Russia, Iran and Europe.

Rise in Afghan poppy farming fuelled by high opium prices (Guardian, Nov 20, 2012):

Amount of Afghan farmland planted with opium poppies rises by a fifth as instability pushes up prices of ‘black gold’, UN says

The amount of Afghan farmland planted with opium poppies has increased by nearly 20% this year, after high prices in 2011 tempted more farmers into growing the drug.

Blight and bad weather meant the harvest of opium in the world’s biggest producer of “black gold” fell by a third, according to the United Nations annual opium survey. But in the longer run that shortage could help keep prices near record highs, fuelling further expansion of poppy farming.

“High opium prices were a main factor that led to the increase in opium cultivation”, said Yury Fedotov, head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in a statement. Despite the fall in actual production, the crop was still worth $700m this year.

CIA Created Afghan Heroin Trade (Veterans Today)

CIA Created Afghan Heroin Trade (Veterans Today, Nov 12, 2012):

Afghan President Hamid Karzai has good reasons for trying to shut down US investigations into corruption in his government.  The Afghan aristocracy has always run the nation’s heroin trade.  But it was the CIA that created it.

(What follows is excerpted from Chapter 8: Project Frankenstein: Afghanistan:

Big Oil & Their Bankers In The Persian Gulf: Four Horsemen, Eight Families & Their Global Intelligence, Narcotics & Terror Network)

In 1933 King Mohammed Zaher Shah took the throne in Afghanistan, ruling the country in feudalistic fashion until he was deposed by his cousin Mohammed Daoud in 1973.  A handful of families including the Karzais and the Kalilzidads (Zalmay Kalilzidad is US Ambassador to Afghanistan) owned nearly all arable land, while most Afghans languished amidst some of the planet’s worst poverty.  Finally, they’d had enough.

Afghanistan: Is Creating a “Narco-State” Considered “Nation-building?” (Veterans Today, Nov 12, 2012):

Operation Ignoratio Elenchi: from Afghanistan to Pakistan

If an occupation of a foreign land has patently failed to make ‘residual’ sense even for its cheerleaders, what would be a corrective action? To call it quits, and get the guys & gals back home?

Well, that conjecture may sound just about swell, but some folks at some places have a bigger fish to fry – call it first rate red herring!

From Afghanistan to Pakistan – that’s the message for the US forces, friends & foes from the latest information operation conducted from the premises of the New York Times.

The operation was launched – or provoked – by  editorial 3-page confession http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/14/opinion/sunday/time-to-pack-up.html “Time to Pack Up”: upon rueful consideration, the Times troubadours of truth  revoke its ‘powerful support’ for Obama’s ‘war of choice’ in Afghanistan and call for accelerated & secure “logistical withdrawal” of the US boots from the ground.

Description:

In this exclusive wide-ranging May 15, 2012 interview with Alfred Lambremont Webre, independent scientist Leuren Moret, MA, PhD (ABD), updates the viewing audiences on the status of the ongoing Fukushima radiation-depopulation rollout, stating that “Fukushima radiation has taken over our planet.” Leuren Moret also exposes inaccuracies in a recent Fukushima “Estimate of the Situation” video by former Gen. Albert S. Stubblebine (U.S. Army, Ret.). Stubblebine has publicly denied his involvement in a secret 1968 – 73 DARPA time travel and teleportation program despite direct eye witness whistleblower testimony to the contrary by Washington State attorney Andrew D. Basiago. Leuren Moret also offers solutions on how humanity can adapt positively to the challenges of this Fukushima radiation false flag depopulation plan, instigated by an international war crimes racketeering organization led by the Dutch and British Monarchs and City of London bloodline families including the Rothschilds.
