Germany’s civil legal system is teetering on the verge of collapse due to refugees appealing decisions to expel them from the country.
That is the verdict of a senior judge who said that asylum seeker cases are ‘overwhelming’ the system.
‘The situation is dramatic for administrative courts,’ said Robert Seegmüller, chairman of the Association of German Administrative Law Judges.
‘The number of people bringing legal challenges against their asylum request decisions has overwhelmed the administrative courts.
‘We are now completely stretched to our limits.’

– US Senators Pushing for 20 Years in Prison for Citizens Who Support Boycotting Israel:
United States senators from both the Republican and Democratic parties are pushing to implement a bill that would make it a felony to support boycotting Israel, punishable by up to twenty years in prison. On Monday, the ACLU issued a letter to the Senate opposing the proposed legislation, which was introduced in March by Sen. Benjamin Cardin (D-MD) and Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH). It was “drafted with the assistance of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee [AIPAC],” according to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
The Israel Anti-Boycott Act (S.720), which has a total of 43 sponsors in the Senate (14 Democrats and 29 Republicans), seeks to broaden the the Export Administration Act of 1979 “to include in the prohibitions on boycotts against allies of the United States boycotts fostered by international governmental organizations against Israel and to direct the Export-Import Bank of the United States to oppose boycotts against Israel, and for other purposes.”

US citizens have the right to film police performing their duties, a three-judge panel of judges from the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit has ruled, overturning a Philadelphia court decision against two people who filmed on-duty police.
Writing the opening opinion for Friday’s ruling was Judge Thomas Ambro, who cited the famous Rodney King case from 1991, when Los Angeles police were filmed beating King. Judge Ambro said that “filming police on the job was rare then, but common now.”

– Amish farmer sold herbal health products. He’s going to prison for 6 years:
An Amish man was sentenced Friday to six years in prison for obstructing a federal agency and for making and selling herbal health products that were not adequately labeled as required by federal law.
Samuel A. Girod of Bath County, a member of the Old Order Amish faith, was convicted in March on 13 charges, including threatening a person in an attempt to stop him from providing information to a grand jury.
U.S. District Judge Danny Reeves repeatedly asked Girod in court if he wished to make a statement but Girod refused. Girod, who represented himself, does not acknowledge that the court has jurisdiction.
“I do not waive my immunity to this court,” Girod told the judge. “I do not consent.”

Canada passed a law Thursday making it illegal to use the wrong gender pronouns. Critics say that Canadians who do not subscribe to progressive gender theory could be accused of hate crimes, jailed, fined, and made to take anti-bias training.
Canada’s Senate passed Bill C-16, which puts “gender identity” and “gender expression” into both the country’s Human Rights Code, as well as the hate crime category of its Criminal Code by a vote of 67-11, according to LifeSiteNews. The bill now only needs royal assent from the governor general.

Fresno, CA —A Fresno, California, man is facing prison after allegedly uploading the movie Deadpool to his Facebook account. Twenty-one-year-old Trevon Maurice Franklin was arrested and charged with copyright infringement Tuesday morning following a federal investigation that accused him of uploading the Hollywood blockbuster eight days after its release in theaters in February 2016.
