New EU president confirms New World Order desire

EU Is ‘The Fatherland, Or The Motherland Of Democracy‘

YouTube Added: 22.09.2011

Delusional Herman Van Rompuy proclaims: EU is ‘the fatherland of democracy‘ (Telegraph, Sep. 23, 2011):

If anyone still refuses to believe that European Union elites suffer from delusions of grandeur, look no further than Herman Van Rompuy’s statement ahead of his speech yesterday to the UN General Assembly. In a video message, officially transcribed by his office and published here, the president of the European Council proclaims that the European Union is “the fatherland, or the motherland of democracy”, while – ludicrously – taking some of the credit for the downfall of Colonel Gaddafi:

Because last year, something important happened in a part of the world very close to us, in Northern Africa and the Arab world. Peoples of the Arab world are looking for democracy, for freedom, for justice. In some countries they achieved it, in other countries they are involved in reform processes. So this is really something astonishing. The world is more and more moving in the direction of democracy. And we are the fatherland, or the motherland of democracy. So the EU is very glad with that kind of evolution. And where we can, we help, as we did in Libya. We did it via our Member States, via the EU as the EU, even militarily. We helped to bring Kadhafi down, and give full support to the democratic forces in Libya.

This has to be one of the most ridiculous statements by an EU official in living memory, and the competition for that is intense. And I don’t think Van Rompuy is referring here to the mother of Parliaments in Great Britain, or the birth of democracy in Greece. He no doubt genuinely believes that the European Union itself is the foundation slab of modern democracy, despite the fact that there is nothing at all democratic about the European project. His comments are a reflection of the arrogance of unelected EU bureaucrats in Brussels, who believe they have some kind of divine right to speak on behalf of hundreds of millions of people and the sovereign governments of 27 nations.

Merkel, Sarkozy want tighter EU budget controls (CBC NEWS, Aug 16, 2011):

The French and German leaders called Tuesday for all countries using the euro to have mandatory balanced budgets and better co-ordination of economic policy.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel also pledged to harmonize their countries’ corporate taxes after meeting in Paris.

Sarkozy said he and Merkel want a “true European economic government” that would consist of the heads of state and government of all eurozone nations.

The new body would meet twice a year and be led by EU President Herman Van Rompuy.

EU Presidents Herman Van Rompuy And Jose Manuel Barroso Fly To Same Destination In Separate Jets

Taxpayer money at work!

A feud between two of the European Union’s leaders was exposed yesterday as the two men travelled in separate VIP jets on the same morning to the EU-Russia summit destination in Russia.

Rivalry between the EU president Herman Van Rompuy and the European Commission chief Jose Manuel Barroso, whose title is also president, over who is Europe’s true leader on the world stage meant that the pair and their entourages, would not share one aircraft.

Mr Van Rompuy, Belgium’s former prime minister before he took the EU post, did not offer Mr Barroso space on an aircraft supplied to him by the Belgian air force at cheap rates.

Instead, Mr Barroso was forced to charter a 15-seater plane, said to be a Learjet, at high commercial rates to carry himself, Baroness Ashton, the EU’s trade commissioner and a group of officials to Russia.

Air Charter Service, a London based company, estimated the cost of Mr Barroso’s Brussels to Russia air taxi would be between £50,000 and £70,000.

Meanwhile, Mr Van Rompuy, accompanied by fewer than 15 officials, travelled in a 35-seat Embraer 135 jet, charged only at the cost of the aircraft’s fuel consumption. Both planes left Brussels within four hours of each other for Nizhny Novgorod in the Volga-Vyatka region of Russia to hold talks on behalf of the EU with President Dmitry Medvedev.

The European Commission and Mr Van Rompuy’s office defended the arrangement by saying that the EU’s two most senior officials were too busy to co-ordinate their diaries and too important to travel in one aircraft.

A Spanish Bailout Would Represent A Systemic Risk For The Euro

MADRID — Europe so far has survived the bailout of Greece. The financial rescue of Ireland also is manageable. Even if Portugal becomes the third country to succumb and seek aid, as many people widely predict, it is unlikely to push Europe to the financial brink.

But any bailout of Spain — with an economy twice the size of the other three combined — could severely stress the ability of Europe’s stronger countries to help the financially weaker ones, and spell deep trouble for the euro, Europe’s common currency. Even though Spain, like Ireland, has adopted an austerity plan to help it avoid the need for a bailout, it still could need aid if its banking system proves frailer than the government thinks it is, as was the case in Ireland.

This troubling possibility has unnerved lenders, with Spain’s borrowing costs rising even though Madrid has cut its deficit and the country’s banks maintain they have sufficient strength to absorb their bad real estate loans. “Europe can afford the collapse of Ireland, even perhaps that of Portugal, but not that of Spain, so Spain’s ultimate line of defense is in fact this knowledge that it’s too big to fail and that it represents a systemic risk for the euro,” said Pablo Vázquez, an economist at the Fundación de Estudios de Economía Aplicada, a research institute here.

Reflecting the worries of investors, the yield spread between Spanish 10-year government bonds and those of Germany continued to widen on Wednesday — to as high as 2.59 percentage points, the biggest gap since the introduction of the euro. Spreads typically widen when investors perceive greater risk of not being repaid.

(Unelected) EU President Herman van Rompuy: The Man Who Wants Your Money

The European president Herman van Rompuy offers a tempting target for jokers. But his call for for the imposition of a common economic policy, backed up with surveillance and punishments, has a decidedly sinister ring .

European president Herman van Rompuy: effective in Belgium, equally determined in Europe

Herman van Rompuy, the president of Europe, hasn’t enjoyed the kindest press. In Britain at least, the “richly comic” “blustering Belgian”, a “garden gnome” and “dwarf” “straight out of Gilbert and Sullivan” has been treated as a sort of joke created largely for the benefit of tabloid headline writers.

Mr van Rompuy may never come to match, say, Vince Cable in the glamour stakes – but people who knew him in his previous job always warned that the “Mr Nobody” gibes were misplaced. As Belgian prime minister, Mr van Rompuy helped to bring together his notoriously divided country, and sharply reduced its budget deficit. Now, he has similar steely ambitions to unite and discipline Europe.

Last week, in Berlin, Mr van Rompuy proclaimed an EU leader’s strongest message of federalism yet. He said that after the financial crisis, “the national and the European interest can no longer be separated: they coincide… today, we have to act on [that] fact… in every [EU] member state, there are people who believe their country can survive alone in the globalised world. It is more than an illusion – it is a lie.”

Greek Junk Contagion Presses EU to Broaden Bailout – ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet at CFR (April 26, 2010)

At the end of the following article famous investor Marc Faber had to say this:

“The best would be to kick out Greece and the countries that abuse the system,” Faber said in an interview. “They didn’t have the fiscal discipline that was essentially imposed by EU.”

It seems that there are more important things for ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet to do right now than to speak at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, unless you know that those elitists at Bilderberg, CFR and the Trilateral Commission, that rule the governments, the central banks, the corporations and the media have created this entire financial crisis.

The elite is looting the people in the US, Europe and everywhere else.

The elite is bankrupting the people until they beg for world government and the New World Order.

What could Greece do?

The Solution For Greece (Max Keiser, Matt Taibbi and Catherine Austin Fitts)

Message to the people of Greece: Avoid the IMF like hell, because the IMF is hell.

The people in Greece seem to have a much better understanding of what is happening to them than the people in the US and the UK.

April 28 (Bloomberg) — Europe’s worsening debt crisis is intensifying pressure on policy makers to widen a bailout package beyond Greece after a cut in the nation’s rating to junk drove up borrowing costs from Italy to Portugal and Ireland.

As German Chancellor Angela Merkel delays approval of a 45 billion-euro ($59 billion) Greek rescue, the crisis is spreading. Portugal’s benchmark stock index yesterday fell the most since the aftermath of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.’s collapse, while the extra yield that investors demand to hold Italian and Irish debt over bunds remained near yesterday’s 10-month high.

They have put Herman Van Rompuy, the EU President, in charge of a special task force to examine “all options possible” to prevent another crisis like the one caused by the Greek meltdown.

His mission will be to draw up a master-plan for the best way to oversee and enforce economic targets set in Brussels as a key part of a bail-out package for Greece.

The options he will consider include the creation of an “economic government” by the by the end of the year.

EU CHIEF VOWS TO RUN OUR ECONOMY FROM BRUSSELS

Barroso plans to grab power

EUROPE’S chief bureaucrat last night provoked fury after threatening to use the “full force” of the Lisbon Treaty to impose economic control over every EU nation.

European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso claimed that financial stability was so critical that sweeping new powers were needed for Eurocrats in Brussels to meddle in the economies of all EU members.

But his threat sparked an angry backlash from critics of an ever- growing Brussels bureaucracy.

It raised fears that the EU – under unelected (!) new President Herman van Rompuy – is planning a power grab.

Timothy Kirkhope, the leader of Tory Euro MPs, said: “The idea of compulsory economic policies is deeply disturbing. It reflects a very old fashioned ‘command and control’ approach which does not solve problems of the 21st century.” Mats Persson, director of think-tank Open Europe, said: “Economic growth cannot be forced from the centre.

“The unelected Commission is seeking to gain power over one of the corefeatures of democratic politics, deciding how a country’s economy is run. This has no public support and runs the risk of being hijacked by narrow political interests.”

It is not that the people are powerless, but that they are not thinking for themselves, acting like a dumb, fear driven herd of sheep in total survival mode. Such behavior assures only one outcome: The people will get slaughtered by the elite.

“What good fortune for governments that the people do not think.” – Adolf Hitler

(Daily Express) FAT cat Eurocrats celebrated a “shameful” new era of Brussels domination last night with a lavish ceremony and fireworks – all at the hard-pressed taxpayers’ expense.

New EU President Herman van Rompuy and Brussels chiefs toasted victory as the Lisbon Treaty, which moves vast swathes of power from Westminster, became law across the EU at midnight on Monday.

Mr van Rompuy and EU foreign affairs chief Baroness Cathy Ashton were among the EU bureaucrats who cheered the landmark occasion at a glittering ceremony and banquet in the Portuguese capital.

But in Britain, angry anti-EU critics declared that it signalled the end of our independence after the latest massive surrender of sovereignty to Brussels.

Campaigners have pledged to fight on against the emergence of a Brussels superstate.

UK Independence Party Euro MP Nigel Farage said: “This day should go down in history as National Loss of Independence Day. We now live in a new legal order. We are just a province of a new legal entity called Europe.”

UKIP yesterday launched a national campaign for a referendum on whether Britain should quit the EU. Tory MP Douglas Carswell said: “Britain has ceased to be a sovereign country. Shamefully, the freedoms our forefathers fought for have been given away by the politicians at Westminster. We need a referendum now.”

Tory Euro MP Daniel Hannan said: “It is appalling, demeaning, disgraceful that such a thing should have been done without popular consent and in the absence of the referendum that all three parties had promised.”
