House Bill Would Ban All Internet Ammunition Sales

FYI.

House Bill Would Ban All Internet Ammunition Sales (Breitbart, Jan 16, 2013):

In their latest rush to further emasculate the Second Amendment, many on the Left are taking aim at the Internet.

Of course, illegal online sales of weapons and ammunition should be stopped–though the practice isn’t nearly as prevalent as the left would have you believe.

But progressives are also looking to ban legal online sales through a bevy of new gun control resolutions, including H.R. 142, which “would ban Internet or mail order ammunition purchases.”

Meanwhile, the state of New York just passed a ban on Internet “assault weapon” sales.

Gun Control Legislation Advances In Illinois State Senate

Gun control legislation advances in Illinois state Senate (RT, Jan 3, 2013):

A state Senate panel in Illinois has approved bans on both assault weapons and high capacity clips. A floor vote on the measures, which come in the wake of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting massacre, is expected on Thursday.

The two initiatives were backed by the historically Democrat-dominated Senate Public Health Committee.

Guns And Magazines Prices Surge At eBay, Guns Sold Out At Wal-Mart

From Bloomberg:

With President Barack Obama endorsing sweeping gun restrictions in the wake of the school shootings in Newtown, Connecticut, prices for handgun magazines are surging on EBay (EBAY) and semi-automatic rifles are sold out at many Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) locations.

Prices Tripling

On EBay Inc.’s auction website, shoppers have recently bid up gun magazines. The current bid for four Glock handgun magazines, ammunition for one of the guns used at Newtown, is $118.37 compared with $45 on the day before the shooting. The bid for seven Glock magazines hit $201 on Dec. 17 from $71.01 before the massacre.

Gun buyers have flooded other firearms retailers too. The Hyatt Gun Shop in Charlotte, North Carolina, racked up more than $1 million in sales yesterday for the best single-day performance since the store opened in 1959, according to Justin Anderson, director of online sales. At the top of shoppers’ lists was the Bushmaster AR-15, the model of rifle used at Newtown that sells for as much as $4,000 and had almost sold out, he said.

Revenue at one of the largest U.S. gun stores surpassed even the spike just after Obama was elected president in 2008, Anderson said in a telephone interview. Sales weren’t as robust when Obama was re-elected last month because the president hadn’t backed major new gun laws, he said.

Are The Feds Preparing For Civil War? (Infographic)

Yes, and here is one of many good reasons why:

Why $16 Trillion Only Hints At The True U.S. Debt (Wall Street Journal, Nov 26, 2012):

“The actual liabilities of the federal government—including Social Security, Medicare, and federal employees’ future retirement benefits—already exceed $86.8 trillion, or 550% of GDP. For the year ending Dec. 31, 2011, the annual accrued expense of Medicare and Social Security was $7 trillion. Nothing like that figure is used in calculating the deficit. In reality, the reported budget deficit is less than one-fifth of the more accurate figure.”

Prepare for the greatest financial collapse in world history.

DHS Orders More Sniper Ammunition – Who Are The Targets?

.308 175 grain hollow point boat tail

More sniper ammunition being ordered by DHS. Who are the targets? (Activist Post, Sep 14, 2012):

Surprise! The DHS Immigration and Customs Enforcement have requested more ammunition.

However, it is the type of ammunition and not necessarily the quantity that is troubling.

First on the agenda is the .223 rifle ammunition. Just a measly 40 million rounds in the first year, and another 160 million rounds in the following four years. 200,00 million rounds in total. You know, just enough to make you cringe thinking that some government office that is not military has more ammunition than you do.

The .223 caliber round is a decent hunting round, but those are not the rounds to be concerned about.

The .308 rounds should have you a bit concerned. Quite a bit concerned.

DHS Downgrades Coast Guard Sailors To Faulty Weapons

DHS downgrades Coast Guard sailors to faulty weapons (Prepper Podcast Radio Network, Sep 8, 2012):

If a day of the week ends with the letter Y, then you can be assured that the Department of Homeland Security has made a purchase of either ammunition, explosives, overpriced bagpipes, or firearms.

Well, this time it’s firearms.

But not any kind of firearms, we’re talking a rifle that is scary looking and under performs. The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center requested the purchase of forty Colt M4 Carbines to replace the existing inventory of M16 service rifle at the Coast Guard Military Law Enforcement Academy rifle training center.

This is EXACTLY what they want:

DHS Buys Enough Ammo To Wage Seven-Year War Against The American People

YouTube Added: 05.09.2012

Description:

First it was the Department of Homeland Security, then it was the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and now the Social Security Administration is set to purchase 174,000 rounds of hollow point bullets that will be delivered to 41 locations across the country.

A solicitation posted by the SSA on the FedBizOpps website asks for contractors to supply 174,000 rounds of “.357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow point pistol ammunition.”

An online ammunition retailer describes the bullets as suitable “for peak performance rivaling and sometimes surpassing handloads in many guns,” noting that the ammo is “a great personal defense bullet.”

The synopsis to the solicitation adds that the ammunition is to be shipped to 41 locations within 60 days of purchase. A separate spreadsheet lists those locations, which include the Social Security headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland as well as major cities across the country including Los Angeles, Detroit, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Denver, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Seattle.

Hollow point bullets are designed to expand as they enter the body, causing maximum damage by tearing apart internal organs.
