- Body of Dr Richard Holmes discovered in a field four miles from the Porton Down defence establishment
- Police said there were no suspicious circumstances in latest case but revealed scientist was ‘under a great deal of stress’
- He resigned from Porton Down last month, but it is unclear why
A weapons expert who worked with Dr David Kelly at the Government’s secret chemical warfare laboratory has been found dead in an apparent suicide.
In circumstances strongly reminiscent of Dr Kelly’s own mysterious death nine years ago, the body of Dr Richard Holmes was discovered in a field four miles from the Porton Down defence establishment in Wiltshire. It is not yet known how he died.
Mr Holmes, 48, had gone missing two days earlier after telling his wife he was going out for a walk – just as Dr Kelly did before he was found dead at an Oxfordshire beauty spot in July 2003.
– Terrorist Plots, Hatched by the F.B.I. (New York Times, April 28, 2012):
THE United States has been narrowly saved from lethal terrorist plots in recent years — or so it has seemed. A would-be suicide bomber was intercepted on his way to the Capitol; a scheme to bomb synagogues and shoot Stinger missiles at military aircraft was developed by men in Newburgh, N.Y.; and a fanciful idea to fly explosive-laden model planes into the Pentagon and the Capitol was hatched in Massachusetts.
But all these dramas were facilitated by the F.B.I., whose undercover agents and informers posed as terrorists offering a dummy missile, fake C-4 explosives, a disarmed suicide vest and rudimentary training. Suspects naïvely played their parts until they were arrested.
– Fukushima: Find The Corium? Maybe In A Few Thousand Years Or So (End The Lie, April 29, 2012):
So another week or so has gone by since I wrote my first piece on Fukushima for End the Lie, and still no progress has been made at Fukushima, although they did throw a sheet over the spent fuel pool of Reactor #4.
They are talking about building a 100-foot long wall under the reactors and digging some wells on the property to deal with the radioactive water problem. For now, it just pours into the ocean, 24/7 and keeps steaming out of the ground after which it is carried into the air which then sends it blowing around the planet.
Of course none of the things Tepco did in the past week brought them any closer to containing, circumventing, repairing, or fixing the rickety structure that is Reactor #4 (see photos).
In the past thirteen months, a lot of what Tepco has done has failed miserably. For example, the machines brought in to “clean” the radioactive water kept breaking because the radiation is so high. The robots sent in the reactor buildings to assess the situation also kept breaking, because the radiation is so high. The drone they tried to fly over the site to take air measurements crashed into the roof of Reactor #2 last year, because the radiation is so high.
Humans can’t get near the reactors and/or corium either, because… yeah, you guessed it, the radiation is so high.
So, what is corium?

Americans never had a choice:
US Presidents get selected, not elected.
Barack Obama flashback (hilarious!):
Obama signs the wrong year in the guestbook at Westminster Abbey (and before that he had to ask for the date).
In another video Obama claims that he has visited 57 states.
The constitution was written ’20 centuries’ ago.
And … Obama: ‘Countries like Europe’ ???

Following up this article..Reality in Fukushima
The movies of radiation measurement in Fukushima were uploaded. The first video was taken in the same location as “Reality in Fukushima”. The last 2 videos were taken about 1.5km south west to “Reality in Fukushima”.

- New documents disclose $500,000 tab Michelle Obama left for taxpayers
- Voters sour on Obamas’ lifestyle that critics call ‘tone-deaf’ and ‘hypocritical’
- New video reveals First Lady’s ‘fantasy’ to sneak way from Secret Service
- Mrs Obama mulls political future and possibility of Presidential run
The First Lady’s whirlwind tour of Spain in 2010 better have been a once in a lifetime trip, because her getaway cost taxpayers nearly half a million dollars.
The highly controversial and lavish trip drew ire at the time, but the White House assured the public that the Obamas picked up the tab on their own.
But new information from Judicial Watch, a public interest group that investigates government corruption, detailed the extensive security costs to the United States Air Force and Secret Service.
– You Are All Suspects Now. What Are You Going to Do About It? (truthout, April 28, 2012):
You are all potential terrorists. It matters not that you live in Britain, the United States, Australia or the Middle East. Citizenship is effectively abolished. Turn on your computer and the US Department of Homeland Security’s National Operations Center may monitor whether you are typing not merely “al-Qaeda,” but “exercise,” “drill,” “wave,” “initiative” and “organization”: all proscribed words. The British government’s announcement that it intends to spy on every email and phone call is old hat. The satellite vacuum cleaner known as Echelon has been doing this for years. What has changed is that a state of permanent war has been launched by the United States and a police state is consuming Western democracy.
What are you going to do about it?
In Britain, on instructions from the CIA, secret courts are to deal with “terror suspects.” Habeas Corpus is dying. The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that five men, including three British citizens, can be extradited to the US even though none except one has been charged with a crime. All have been imprisoned for years under the 2003 US/UK Extradition Treaty which was signed one month after the criminal invasion of Iraq. The European Court had condemned the treaty as likely to lead to “cruel and unusual punishment.” One of the men, Babar Ahmad, was awarded 63,000 pounds compensation for 73 recorded injuries he sustained in the custody of the Metropolitan Police. Sexual abuse, the signature of fascism, was high on the list. Another man is a schizophrenic, who has suffered a complete mental collapse and is in Broadmoor secure hospital; another is a suicide risk. To the Land of the Free they go – along with young Richard O’Dwyer, who faces ten years in shackles and an orange jump suit because he allegedly infringed US copyright on the Internet.

– Local official purged for being against spreading radiation (Fukushima Diary, April 28, 2012):
Mr. Murata Tomoaki, a town councilor of Manazuru town in Kanagawa received resignation advisory resolution from town council.
He is blamed for commenting they should not spread radioactive incineration ash from Kanto to western Japan on twitter.
– Robert Wenzel’s ‘David’ Speech Crushes Federal Reserve’s ‘Goliath’ Dream (ZeroHedge, April 27, 2012):
In perhaps the most courageous (and likely must-read for future economists) speech ever given inside the New York Fed’s shallowed hallowed walls, Economic Policy Journal’s Robert Wenzel delivered the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth to the monetary priesthood. Gracious from the start, Wenzel takes the Keynesian clap-trappers to task on almost every nonsensical and oblivious decision they have made in recent years.
“My views, I suspect, differ from beginning to end… I stand here confused as to how you see the world so differently than I do. I simply do not understand most of the thinking that goes on here at the Fed and I do not understand how this thinking can go on when in my view it smacks up against reality.”
“I scratch my head that somehow your conclusions about unemployment are so different than mine and that you call for the printing of money to boost ‘demand’. A call, I add, that since the founding of the Federal Reserve has resulted in an increase of the money supply by 12,230%.”
But his closing was tremendous:
– Police vs Protester: Feds sending armed agents to Chicago three weeks before NATO Summit (RT, April 27, 2012):
May’s NATO summit in Chicago is still weeks away, but residents of the Windy City can expect to see armed federal agents patrolling the streets in preparation much sooner than that.
Three weeks before international heads of state will converge in Chicago, Illinois for the annual NATO conference, the US Federal Protective Service will send armed officers into the city’s downtown district to prepare for the swarm of protesters expected to arrive in time for the event, slated for May 20 and 21.
– Prof. Takeda “3/31/2015 is the last day of Japan” (Fukushima Diary, April 27 , 2012):
Prof. Takeda Kunihiko from Chubu university roughly estimated anyone can no longer live in Japan after 3/31/2015.
According to his explanation, the yearly dose will reach 5mSv/y (External dose and the slight internal dose) in 3 years and 4 months from January of 2012.
– CISPA passes the House with amendments which make it even worse than it was (End The Lie, April 27, 2012):
Brent Daggett previously reported on how dangerous CISPA really is for End the Lie and I have pointed out how over 3,000,000 businesses across the United States – including companies like Google who opposed SOPA – expressed their support for the bill, which likely played a large role in its passage.
It passed with a 248-168 vote and quite unfortunately, the amended version which was voted on is even worse than it was originally, if you can believe that.
While I thought such a thing would never be possible, indeed the final version of CISPA is considerably more dangerous than the previous incarnations.
– Inspector General Faults EPA Radiation Monitoring (Forbes, April 27, 2012):
Twenty percent of the EPA’s stationary radiation monitors were out of service last year at the time of the Fukushima nuclear accident, leading the U.S. Office of the Inspector General to conclude that the EPA’s Radnet system is “vulnerable” and managed with less urgency and priority than it deserves.
Broken monitors, parts shortages, “relaxed quality controls” and a lack of volunteer operators left 25 of the EPA’s 124 stationary monitors out of service for an average of 130 days at the beginning of the Fukushima disaster, according to the OIG. Two monitors—in Harlingen, Texas and Raleigh, North Carolina—were out of service for more than a year.
“EPA’s RadNet program will remain vulnerable until it is managed with the urgency and priority that the Agency reports it to have to its mission,” the Inspector General concludes in an audit released last week.
“If RadNet is not managed as a high-priority program, EPA may not have the needed data before, during, and after a critical event such as the Japan nuclear incident. Such data are crucial to determine levels of airborne radioactivity that may negatively affect public health and the environment.”

There’s a bill currently up for debate in the US House of Representatives that would give companies and government agencies the right to share information when issues of cybersecurity were at stake. If the first thing you thought after reading that was “Wait, don’t we already do this,” the answer is “Yes, we do.” The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) is drawing fire for certain provisions that drastically expand the definition of what data can be shared and for the way they handle existing data protections.
– Osama bin Laden’s family leaving Pakistan (CBS News, April 26, 2012):
ISLAMABAD – Osama bin Laden’s three wives and 11 children were cleared to leave Pakistan Thursday night, having spent the past year in the south Asian country after U.S. Navy SEALs tracked and killed the world’s most hunted terrorist in the northern city of Abbottabad, the family’s lawyer told CBS News.
“They have been cleared to leave Pakistan. They are heading to Saudi Arabia in a little while,” said Aamir Khalil, the family’s Pakistani lawyer, who spoke to CBS News after midnight local time Thursday.

– Spanish unemployment hits record 5.64 million (BBC News, April 27, 2012):
Spanish unemployment has hit a new record high, official figures have shown.
The number of unemployed people reached 5,639,500 at the end of March, with the unemployment rate hitting 24.4%, the national statistics agency said.
The figures came hours after rating agency Standard & Poor’s downgraded Spanish sovereign debt.
Official figures due out on Monday are expected to confirm that Spain has fallen back into recession.

– Pope calls in Opus Dei troubleshooter to uncover source of Vatican leaks (Guardian, April 26, 2012):
Vatican staffers who have been leaking embarrassing letters about corruption and nepotism inside the tiny city state are to be hunted down by a crack squad of cardinals led by a senior member of the religious group Opus Dei.
Irritated by the anonymous release of documents to the press this year, Pope Benedict has named Cardinal Julian Herranz, 82, to lead a three-man team which will haul in staffers for questioning and rifle through files until they catch the perpetrators of what has been dubbed “Vatileaks”.

– Health blogger threatened with jail time for advocating Paleo diet that cured his diabetes (Natural News, April 26, 2012):
Internet free speech is under assault in America, and a dangerous new trend has surfaced that threatens to throw nutritional bloggers in jail for advocating healthy diets on their blogs or websites. As you read this, a blogger who wrote about using the Paleo diet to overcome diabetes is being threatened with jail time in North Carolina, where the state Board of Dietetics / Nutrition claims his nutritional advocacy is equivalent to the crime of “practicing nutrition without a license.”
His name is Steve Cooksey, and his website is http://www.diabetes-warrior.net
He’s being targeted by state “dieticians” (which is another word for “nutritional moron” as you’ll see below) who say that Chapter 90, Article 25 of the North Carolina General Statutes makes it a misdemeanor to “practice dietetics or nutrition.” His website’s advocating of the Paleo diet for individuals who have health challenges is, they claim, a violation of law.
So they’ve threatened him with arrest if he does not take down his website… or at the very least stop advocating the Paleo diet to readers.

Source: The wind of one thousand Bq (Oyama Koichi’s blog, April 21, 2012):
This is English-translated version of Oyama Koichi’s blog, who is a member of the city council of Minamisōma city in Fukushima.
Minamisōma has been suffering from disastrous damage caused by the Tōhoku earthquake on March 11, 2011.
Moreover, the city is only about 25 kilometers north of Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant, the site of the nuclear accident that followed the earthquake and tsunami. Much of the city lies within the mandated evacuation zone near the plant, and thus most of the residents were
forced to leave.
But Mr. Oyama still stays in the city and keeps on reporting what’s happening there and what he suspects the authorities try to hide.
We hope this blog will let you know what he would like to tell us, literally putting his life on the line.
