The mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of 27-year-old Democratic-staffer Seth Rich (shot multiple times, and not robbed, at 420am near his home in Washington D.C., where no homicides have been reported within 1500 feet) have stirred Wikileaks founder Julian Assange to offer a $20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction. But it is Assange’s comments during a Dutch TV interview that are most disturbing as he hinted that Rich – who was in charge of DNC voter expansion data – was the email-leaker and his death was a politically-motivated assassination.
As The Hill notes, Police in Washington have been tight-lipped about the Rich investigation but have suggested they believed the crime was a robbery.

It appears there are no limits to what Philippines’ President Rodrigo Duterte will do or say. After admiting that his government had killed 400 drug dealers in the last month alone, Duterte’s latest victim is none other than the US’ Ambassador to the Phillipines Philip Goldberg.
As reported earlier this week, Duterte met with both Goldberg and John Kerry in late July to discuss the response to Manila winning an international court case against China at the Permanent Court of Arbitration at the Hague. Kerry… is “okay, but I had an argument with their ambassador, that bakla [homosexual]. Son of a bitch, he really annoys me.” There is no record of Goldberg publicly identifying as gay, indicating Duterte meant to use the word purely derisively.”

The feud between Goldberg and Duterte stems from the time that the Philippine was still a presidential candidate. During the campaign, Duterte made a joke about a gang rape episode that took place during his time as governor. He said the rape of a young woman in Davao City, where he served as mayor for 22 years, was only a tragedy because he himself did not get to have sex with her first. “Any statements by anyone, anywhere that either degrade women or trivialize issues so serious as rape or murder, are not ones that we condone,” Goldberg said at the time.

These new emails, among other things, demonstrate how the Clinton Foundation and it’s top donors sought favors from the State Department within 3 months of Hillary taking the Secretary of State position.

According to a report of the French senate, 2.800 churches across the country, many of them centuries old, will be demolished as restoration costs exceed the cost of demolitions over the next years. This church, Église Saint-Jacques d’Abbeville, a Neo-Gothic masterpiece in Abbeville, Nord-Pas-de-Calais-Picardie dating back to 1868, was demolished for a total cost of 350,000€ in 2013. The reasoning: It was much cheaper to demolish it than it would cost to restore.
As the number of Frenchmen in France continues to decline due to record-low birth rates, high emigration and Muslim immigration, so do the members of catholic faith, who are now at an all time low. For many cities in France, especially cities in which Christians are the minority, the lack of interest and high property value on which the buildings stand simply does not justify the cost of restoring the churches. Many mayors choose the cheaper demolitions over costly restorations. Thousands of churches are to be demolished over the next years and replaced with shopping malls, stores, apartments or parking lots.

In a dramatic pivot by Turkey, the summit has taken on broader geopolitical significance. “The west is criticising Erdogan over his crackdown in the wake of the coup, and Erdogan is denouncing them over that,” said Alexei Malashenko, an analyst at the Moscow Carnegie Centre. “This tension between Turkey and its Nato allies is extremely beneficial to Russia.” The rapprochement between Moscow and Ankara began in June, before the coup attempt, when the Kremlin accepted Mr Erdogan’s apology for the downing of the aircraft over Turkey’s shared border with Syria. Within days, officials from both countries had begun talks to roll back sanctions Russia imposed on Turkey following the incident the FT adds.
Since then broader issues have pushed Moscow and Ankara closer together, “including the desire to teach the west a lesson and shared interests in dealing with the regional security threat.” Ankara also welcomed the fact that Moscow gave its unequivocal backing to Turkey following the failed coup.

Perhaps in indirect response to the Kahn family attacks on Donald Trump, Pat Smith and Charles Woods, parents of Sean Smith and Tyrone Woods who were killed in the Benghazi terrorist attacks on September 11, 2012, have filed a lawsuit against Hillary Clinton alleging, among other things, that her “negligent and reckless” actions with regard to her private email server resulted in the “wrongful death” of their sons. The lawsuit, filed in the District of Columbia, also accuses Clinton of “defamation” and “intentional infliction of emotional distress” as they claim she has launched a “smear campaign” against the Plaintiffs in an effort to cover up the facts and save her Presidential campaign.
The suit alleges that Clinton’s use of a private email server is what allowed terrorist groups in Libya to obtain the whereabouts of Ambassador Christopher Stevens which ultimately led to the “wrongful death” of their sons:
