Fukushima Prefecture Hospital Staffing Crisis

Unstoppable leakage of medical staff in Fukushima (Fukushima Diary, Nov. 24, 2011):

Japanese government lifted evacuating area from Minami soma shi on 9/30/2011.

However, about 30,000 of 71500 people have not come back yet.

Medical staff escaped too. Hospitals are suffering from shortage of man power though they should evacuate actually.

Minamisoma city hospital is one of the major hospitals ,where is only 23 km from the Fukushima plants.

In this hospital ,doctors and nurse evacuated too.

Full time doctor ; 14 ? 8
Nurse ; 136 ? 100
Beds ; 230 ? 100

Apart from Minami soma city hospital , 2 of 8 hospitals were closed , 13 of 39 clinics were closed too.
There were about 900 medical staff but now it’s only 300 in total.

Japan’s Richest Man Masayoshi Son, The ‘Unlikely Ally’ Of Anti-Nuclear Protesters, Donates His Lifelong Future Earnings To Disaster Victims

Message to Mr. Masayoshi Son:

How about starting and funding a campaign to expose the lies of TEPCO and the Japanese government and to wake up the Japanese people, thereby saving millions of  lives?

And how about donating to those who expose their lies since March 11?

(For  overwhelming evidence study the links below.)

A ‘Donate’ button, which so far has been extremely rarely used, can be found at the upper-right corner of this blog.

🙂

From the article:

‘We are not alone’

Anti-nuclear protesters have an unlikely ally in Masayoshi Son, Japan’s richest man. The multibillionaire CEO of Softbank, which owns a major mobile phone carrier, 40 percent of Yahoo! Japan, and a championship-winning baseball team, is pushing solar energy as a post-Fukushima alternative. Mr. Son, who is donating his lifelong future earnings to victims of the triple March disasters, is planning to build 10 mega-solar plants. He says that such facilities covering 20 percent of unused agricultural land in Japan could generate as much as power as TEPCO.

Tokyo –As staffers trickle out of the powerful Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) on their way home from work, a group of women from Fukushima Prefecture shout at them through a megaphone.

“When are we going to be able to return to our hometowns? Will they ever be safe to live in again? When will you take responsibility for this?” the women call out toward the ministry, which has been responsible for both promoting nuclear energy and overseeing its safety in Japan.

Namie-machi, Fukushima: 33 Times Worse Than Chernobyl – 49,400,000 Bq/m2 (22Km From Fukushima Nuke Plant)

We are getting closer to …

Fukushima Now Equal To 50 Plus Chernobyls & 3,000 Billion Lethal Doses Of Radiation (Veterans Today, ! May 28, 2011 !):

Three thousand billion (3,000,000,000,000) Lethal Doses of Radiation means there are 429 Lethal Doses chasing each and every one of us on the planet, to put it in a nutshell.

This is up from about 70 Billion Lethal Doses March 23, 2011. It is getting worse everyday without any intervention by the US and the other nuclear powers.

Namie-machi, Fukushima is 33 times worse than Chernobyl (Fukushima Diary, Nov. 22, 2011):

Größere Kartenansicht

Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology published the soil contamination data of 60 km area from Fukushima plants.

The data was taken from 6/1/2011 ~ 11/22/2011.

Though it’s only about I-131, Cs-134, Cs-137 mainly, the result shows the worst contaminated area in Fukushima is 33 times worse than Chernobyl. It proves Fukushima is something nobody has ever gone through.

In Chernobyl, area contaminated worse than 1,480,000 bq/m2 was defined as the worst red zone, “immediate mandatory evacuating area.”

In Fukushima, Namie-machi, 22km north west to Fukushima plants is contaminated, which they measured 760,000 bq/kg (Cs-134 + Cs-137). It equals to 49,400,000 bq/m2.

Fukushima is “the next level” of Chernobyl apparently.

Fukushima Worker: ‘There Is Nothing Left We Can Do’

Fukushima worker confesses “There is nothing left that we could do” (Fukushima Diary, Nov. 23, 2011):

This Fukushima worker (Twitter account Happy20790) tweets useful information daily.

On 3/11, he was right at the plant, had water of the spent fuel pool over his protecting clothes.

When reactor 3 exploded, he was in reactor 2.

Though his tweets are sometimes biased, he basically tries to be neutral.

In short, he says Tepco started reducing the number of workers because they can not do anything for the reactors anymore. Even though they stock lots of workers, there is no clue to do something most important.

He explains, the next thing to do is to check the state of container vessels pressure vessels, define the actual point of the leakage of contaminated water, and action to stop the leakage, but there is zero plan / idea how to manage it.

The interiors of the buildings are extremely radioactive and nobody can officially go into reactor 3 (though the helmet of the worker was recorded in the video taken by the robot). They can never go into the basement floor of the reactors either. The only thing they can do is to analyze the gas from inside of the container vessels.

Thus nothing can be done by human anymore. They can only clean debris, take away broken operation floor, maintain the water purifying system, setting new tanks etc..

Japan Government: 8 Percent Of the Country Is Contaminated By Radiation

If one would consider all the horrible lies the Japanese government dished out before versus the truth and then would have to project  from that data (average difference between truth vs. lies) the real contamination of Japan then I am sure the 8% figure of contaminated land could easily turn into 80%.

Radiation covers 8pc of Japan (ABC News, Nov. 22, 2011):

Japan’s science ministry says 8 per cent of the country’s surface area has been contaminated by radiation from the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant.

It says more than 30,000 square kilometres of the country has been blanketed by radioactive caesium.

What could possibly go wrong?

Darpa: Do Away With Antibiotics, Then Destroy All Pathogens (Wired, Nov. 21, 2011):

Last year, federal officials warned that Americans were on the verge of “a post-antibiotic era.” And that’s exactly what the Pentagon’s far-out research agency is after.

As long as they’ve got a replacement at the ready, of course. In the military’s latest round of small business solicitations, Darpa is making a long-shot request for an all-out replacement to antibiotics, the decades-old standard for killing or injuring bacteria to demolish a disease. In its place: the emerging field of nanomedicine would be used to fight bacterial threats. The agency’s “Rapidly Adaptable Nanotherapeutics” is after a versatile “platform capable of rapidly synthesizing therapeutic nanoparticles” to target unknown, evolving and even genetically engineered bioweapons.

It’s the latest of several Darpa programs to improve we deal with bacterial infections, viruses and bio-threats. The agency is already funding tobacco-based vaccine production, prescient viral infection detectors and insta-vaccines to inoculate against unknown pathogens.

Radioactive Strontium Found in Central Tokyo!

Radioactive Strontium Found in Central Tokyo (EX-SKF, Nov. 21, 2011):

(UPDATE-2) Asahi Shinbun carried the news:

(UPDATE) So far, it is dead silence from the Japanese MSMs; even the critical papers like Tokyo Shinbun is mum on strontium in Tokyo.

—————————————————-

A citizen group did the soil survey of three locations in central Tokyo, and had the soil samples tested for radioactive cesium and strontium. All three had both.

Summary of reporting by Yasumi Iwakami, independent journalist:

Locations and amounts of radioactive materials:
Kiyosumi Shirakawa Station, Koto-ku:
Radioactive cesium (134 and 137 combined): 19,126 Bq/kg
Radioactive strontium (89 and 90 combined): 44 Bq/kg

Yurakucho Station, Chiyoda-ku:
Radioactive cesium (134 and 137 combined): 20,955 Bq/kg
Radioactive strontium (89 and 90 combined): 51 Bq/kg

Front of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Chiyoda-ku:
Radioactive cesium (134 and 137 combined): 48,176 Bq/kg
Radioactive strontium (89 and 90 combined): 48 Bq/kg

It’s a poetic justice that the amount of radioactive cesium is the highest at METI. I hear TEPCO’s headquarter building in Tokyo also enjoys rather high radiation.

Highest Reading Yet At Fukushima Reactor No. 3: 1.6 Sieverts Per Hour!

Breaking news “1.6 Sv/h from reactor 3? (Fukushima Diary, Nov. 20, 2011):

Following up the previous post..

11/20/2011, Tepco announced they measured 1.6 Sv/h at reactor 3, which is the highest reading of reactor 3.

Since last week, Tepco has been measuring radiation in reactor 3 by using human worker to assist robot.

11/14/2011, when they washed off water on the floor and it was 1.32 Sv/h.

Now they measured even higher radiation from the floor of the building.

Tepco is supposed to declare that they managed to cold shut down the Fukushima plants by the end of this year, but actually, they don’t even know what is going on inside of the reactor.

First International Tourist Flight Since March 11 Lands At Fukushima Airport

What can you say?

#Radiation in Japan: First International Flight to Fukushima Airport Since March 11 (EX-SKF, Nov. 19, 2011):

A chartered flight from Taiwan arrived for the first time since March 11 at Fukushima Airport, carrying tourists who will spend their vacations in locations inside Fukushima Prefecture.

I don’t understand why they do it; my best guess is that they just couldn’t pass up great bargains to be had in Fukushima. It could be the bargain that they didn’t even need to pay for the trip.

Asahi Shinbun (11/19/2011) reports:

? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ????

The first chartered flight since the March 11 earthquake and Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant accident arrived in Fukushima Airport. Regular international flights to and from Fukushima Airport haven’t resumed, due to the restrictions placed by foreign countries for the fear of radiation contamination. Fukushima Prefecture has been requesting the resumption of the international flights to the international airlines in foreign countries and regions, and November 19’s flight is the first result of the effort. However, according to the tourism section of the Fukushima prefectural government, the next flight is not scheduled.

Future Increase In Cancers From Fukushima Plant May Be Undetectable

Just wait:

Silent Death – Horror Scenario Awaits Japan (The Low-Level Radiation Myth Exposed)

Future cancers from Fukushima plant may be hidden (Gulf News, Nov. 20, 2011):

Fukushima, Japan: Even if the worst nuclear accident in 25 years leads to many people developing cancer, we may never find out.

Looking back on those early days of radiation horror, that may sound implausible. But the ordinary rate of cancer is so high, and our understanding of the effects of radiation exposure so limited, that any increase in cases from the Fukushima nuclear plant disaster may be undetectable.

Several experts inside and outside Japan told Agencies that cancers caused by the radiation may be too few to show up in large population studies, like the long-term survey just getting under way in Fukushima.

That could mean thousands of cancers under the radar in a study of millions of people, or it could be virtually none. Some of the dozen experts the AP interviewed said they believe radiation doses most Japanese people have gotten fall in a “low-dose” range, where the effect on cancer remains unclear.

The cancer risk may be absent, or just too small to detect, said Dr. Fred Mettler, a radiologist who led an international study of health effects from the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.

Architect Of Fukushima Reactor 3: China Syndrome Is Inevitable, Warns Of MASSIVE HYDROVOLCANIC EXPLOSION

And Infinite Unknown readers know exactly who stopped at nothing to NOT prevent this from happening!

Architect of Reactor 3 warns of massive hydrovolcanic explosion (Fukushima Diary, Nov. 19, 2011):

Architect of Fukushima Daiichi Reactor 3, Uehara Haruo, the former president of Saga University had an interview on 11/17/2011.

In this interview, he admitted Tepco’s explanation does not make sense, and that the China syndrome is inevitable.

He stated that considering 8 months have passed since 311 without any improvement, it is inevitable that melted fuel went out of the container vessel and sank underground, which is called China syndrome.

He added, if fuel has reaches a underground water vein, it will cause contamination of underground water, soil contamination and sea contamination. Moreover, if the underground water vein keeps being heated for long time, a massive hydrovolcanic explosion will be caused.

He also warned radioactive debris is spreading in Pacific Ocean. Tons of the debris has reached the Marshall Islands as of 11/15/2011.

Cesium-137 Deposition Simulation Shows Massive Ocean Contamination

Cesium-137 Deposition Simulation Shows Extensive Ocean Contamination Even in Japan Sea (EX-SKF. Nov. 19, 2011):

I wrote on Monday November 14 about the paper by the international team of scientists on cesium-137 deposition simulation after the Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant accident, from March 20 to April 19.

In the English paper that I linked, there was a map of cesium-137 deposition simulation in much wider area of Japan, which I showed in the post.

But then, in the press release by Nagoya University (one of the scientists is from this university), I realized I should have linked the different map of cesium-137 deposition simulation on land and on the ocean. A whole lot of radioactive materials may have fallen on the ocean, the Pacific Ocean AND the Japan Sea. (Remember, this is a simulation map, not the actual measurement.)

Looking at the map, I don’t think I want to eat anything from the Pacific Ocean. Or the Japan Sea. Abalone fishing just started in Iwate Prefecture.

By the way, the paper and the researchers were criticized heavily on Twitter a couple of days ago (it still continues) from other researchers in Japan. Their beef was that the researchers of the paper withheld this information from the public when it could have made the difference in determining the government policy or in alerting more people on the possibility of much wider radiation contamination. Instead, the researchers waited for the peer review in the very prestigious scientific venue (the National Academy of Sciences of the United States) to be finished and the paper published. Some say the researchers had the temerity to say in their Nagoya University press release on November 15, “We request that the information in the paper not be used to spread a new set of “baseless rumors” [on the contamination].”

Description:

How far is far enough away from the radiation. We all are effected by it though most people would like to deny there is a threat. We need to be informed in order to take proper action in protecting our kids. This is not for panic purposes but for educational purposes. Be aware of your surroundings and behave accordingly. If it needs to be cleaned, clean it. A system of continuous monthly radiation checks needs to be set up in areas where children will be playing and studying. With the spring comes the threat of radioactive pollen that will be blowing from mountain sides and local trees and flowers. We need to come up with a plan right now to protect ourselves in the future. Otherwise we are left with stupid band aids for real problems. How long will it take to decide on one logical plan of action? Gambarou Nihon…What does that mean? Suffer together? OK suffer together while we fight for what is right. Sure!

And apparently the IAEA seems not to know about the danger of internal emitters, thereby comparing the Iodine-131 release to background radiation.

More BS we can believe in.

IAEA: Source of Iodine-131 in Europe Is the Institute of Isotopes Ltd in Budapest, Hungary (EX-SKF, Nov. 18, 2011):

(UPDATE) The said Hungarian Institute says “It’s not us.” “If the source of heightened radioactivity had been Budapest, the levels measured here should have been much higher.”

———————————————–

The press release on 11/17/2011 from IAEA (emphasis is mine):

17 November 2011 | The IAEA has received information from the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (HAEA) that the source of the iodine-131 (I-131) detected in Europe was most probably a release to the atmosphere from the Institute of Isotopes Ltd., Budapest. The Institute of Isotopes Ltd. produces radioisotopes for healthcare, research and industrial applications. According to the HAEA, the release occurred from September 8 to November 16, 2011. The cause of the release is under investigation.

As previously mentioned, the levels of I-131 that have been detected in Europe are extremely low. There is no health concern to the population. If any member of the public were to breathe iodine for a whole year at the levels measured in European countries, then they would receive a dose in the range of 0.01 microsieverts for the year. To put this into perspective, the average annual background is 2400 microsieverts per year.

The IAEA was first notified of the presence of trace levels of I-131 by authorities from the Czech Republic on 11 November. Since this notification, the IAEA contacted several member states throughout the region to determine the cause and origin. The IAEA also worked with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) to conduct air dispersion modelling, as part of efforts to determine the source.

At least IAEA didn’t mention X-ray or transcontinental flight. Never mind that the average annual background includes external radiation, and that iodine-131 goes almost exclusively to thyroid; talking about the whole body radiation is irrelevant.

Radioactive Los Angeles Air, 300% Over Normal Background (Video – Nov. 16, 2011)

YouTube Added: 16.11.2011

Description:

Disturbing readings from one of Radiation Station Central’s HEPA filters after just 30 days of use: 308% of normal background higher. Alpha and beta radiation captured by the filter can be attributed to the triple Fukushima Japan meltdowns, melt-throughs and melt-outs and the decision to begin burning 550,000 tons of radioactive debris in Tokyo from October to March, sending a double dose of radioactive fallout on the Jet Stream over the Pacific to land on America, Canada and beyond. Finding this high a level of radiation is considered dangerous by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Ingested alpha particles can be up to 1,000 times more dangerous than their beta and gamma counterparts.

Japan Residents Running Out Of Safe Food

We are running out of safe food (Fukushima Diary, Nov. 17, 2011):

I used to think canned food was ok, but even that was an illusion.

Greenpeace measured canned fish.

The samples were taken from 15 branches of 5 major super market chains from North Japan to Kanto area. The measurement was conducted in October.

As a result, they measured cesium from 27 of 75 canned fish.

They announced it on 11/16/2011.

Eg,4.6 Bq/Kg from canned chub mackerel.

This seems to be merely a beginning of the huge food problem. Greenpeace is expected to conduct continuous surveys.

Japan Finally BANS Fukushima Rice

CRIMINALS: Koriyama City in Fukushima To Feed 2011 Rice To School Kids

Radioactive Fukushima Rice Headed For Restaurants And Schools … And Consumers In Tokyo!

ALL Fukushima Rice All Cleared For Shipment … Radioactive Or Not!

And you better check those school meals!

Japan bans Fukushima rice (Telegraph, Nov. 17, 2011):

Japan has announced its first ban on rice produced near the crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant after samples showed radioactive contamination well above legal limits. The findings will further worry nervous consumers, already fretting over the safety of domestic produce, despite its previous solid safety reputation.

Authorities in Fukushima prefecture say rice produced near the stricken atomic power plant contained caesium they measured at 630 becquerels per kilogram. The government safety limit is 500 becquerels.

Osamu Fujimura, the Chief Cabinet Secretary, ordered Fukushima Governor Yuhei Sato to restrict shipments of rice from Onami – from where the samples were sourced – according to an agricultural ministry official.

“This restriction won’t be lifted until safety of the rice produced in the area can be confirmed,” the official said, adding that the ban will affect 154 farms that produced 192 tonnes of rice this year.

‘Super Soldiers’: The Quest For The Ultimate Human Killing Machine

‘Super soldiers’: The quest for the ultimate human killing machine (Independent, Nov. 17, 2011):

Guilt, tiredness, stress, shock – can specialised drugs help to mute the qualities that make soldiers human, asks Michael Hanlon?

The ancient Spartans believed that battlefield training began at birth. Those who failed the first round of selection, which took place at the ripe old age of 48 hours, were left at the foot of a mountain to die. The survivors would, in years to come, often wonder if these rejects were the lucky ones. Because to harden them up, putative Spartan warriors were subjected to a vigorous regime involving unending physical violence, severe cold, a lack of sleep and constant sexual abuse.

As with the English public schools, which used similar tactics to produce the warriors who carved out the British Empire, the Spartan regime worked; the alumni were the most feared soldiers in the eastern Mediterranean. And ever since then, military chiefs have wondered whether it may be possible to short-cut the long and demanding Spartan regime to produce a soldier who kills without care or remorse, shows no fear, can fight battle after battle without fatigue and generally behave more like a machine than a man.

In the post-war era, the future of fighting was thought to be about tanks and missiles, large impersonal machines that would fight huge battles over the open terrain of Northern Europe. The soldiers would be pressing buttons in a command centre. And fought against a mercurial army of irregulars who melt away into the fields and farms once the skirmish is over. Modern soldiers are not the cannon fodder of before. Highly trained and super fit, each one represents a huge investment by the nation that sends them into battle. A soldier who is too tired to fight effectively, who has gone mad or who is suffering from severe stress is like a broken-down tank, no use to anybody. What if soldiers could be made that did not break down?
