On the sixth month anniversary of the oil disaster in the gulf we are still witnessing a complete media blackout.

The people, particularly in Grand Isle, have been poisoned by tyrants that care more about their pocketbooks than human life or mother earth.

According to Riki Ott, marine toxicologist and Exxon Valdez survivor:

“The people that did evacuate (the gulf) are glad they did”
And for good reason.”

” I am dealing with about 3 -4  autopsies right now… I know of people who’s esophagus’ are de-solving, disintegrating… I know of people with 4.75% of their lung capacity, with enlarged hearts… All of these people have oil in their bodies.”

The gulf oil spill is admittedly a Dept. of Defense operation as reported on by the Army Times and the Intel Hub.

Multiple C-130′s, military and Coast Guard, along with various types of Evergreen Air aircraft and boats have been used to carry out the spraying operation in and around the region.

Boats equipped to spray have also been spotted and well documented by journalists such as Dahr Jamail. There have been reports of out of state contractors and military conducting spraying operations in throughout the region.

Reports are circulating of deaths, along with people finding VOC’s and other toxins in their bloodstream. The reports also include dizziness, sore throat and trouble breathing, all symptoms of chemical exposure.

Unfortunately, the regions economy has been devastated, with the fishing industry being the hardest hit. People have lost their medical insurance and more as they are overwhelmed with financial and toxic doom.

Groups such as Project Gulf Impact and even some law firms are extending a helping hand to people in need.

One of the most unreported cases of murder, corruption and poisoning is taking place right here on American soil while the sleeping masses escape reality due to corporate media control.

GlaxoSmithKline to Pay Out $750 Million Over Contaminated Drugs Lawsuit

In a rare public humiliation for a British company in the United States, GlaxoSmithKline last night formally agreed to pay $750m (£473m) to settle criminal and civil complaints stemming from a whistleblower’s revelations about a shockingly degraded factory in Puerto Rico.

The case dates back to the 2003 sacking of a quality manager after she found grave shortcomings at a factory in Puerto Rico. The manager, Cheryl Eckard, warned she would retaliate by reporting what she had found to the US authorities.

What followed was an aggressive investigation by the Federal Drugs Administration that involved the seizure of medicines worth $2bn (£1.26bn), the largest such confiscation in history. The plant at Cidra was closed down last year as a consequence of the probe. Drugs affected were Avandia, Paxil – a popular anti-depressant – and Tagamet.

Ms Eckard found problems at the factory ranging from the wrong pills going in the wrong bottles, a contaminated water supply, the use of rented vans for storage and a failure to ensure the sterility of anti-cancer IV drugs.

GSK was charged with knowingly selling contaminated goods.

GlaxoSmithKline Whistleblower Stands to Receive $96 Million

The whistleblower who flagged up manufacturing problems at GlaxoSmithKline’s (GSK) former plant in Puerto Rico stands to receive about $96m (£60m) after the company finalised a pact with the US Department of Justice.

GSK has agreed to pay $750m and plead guilty to charges related to the manufacture and distribution of adulterated drugs, including the anti-depressant Paxil, at its SB Pharmco Puerto Rico plant between 2001 and 2005.

Cheryl Eckard, a former quality assurance manager at GSK who raised the alarm in 2004, stands to receive about $96m from the federal share, according to the Justice Department.

She filed a suit under a law which entitles whistleblowers to a portion of monetary amounts recovered by the government.

Ms Eckard told reporters in Boston on Tuesday: “This is not something that I ever wanted to do.” But she said she felt it was necessary to blow the whistle because of the implications for patient safety.

Her laywers said she was fired by GSK in 2003 after repeatedly complaining to management about conditions at the plant.

Placebo Fraud Rocks Foundation of Modern Medical Science: Almost All Placebo Controlled Trials Are Scientifically Invalid

(NaturalNews) You know all those thousands of clinical trials conducted over the last few decades comparing pharmaceuticals to placebo pills? Well, it turns out all those studies must now be completely thrown out as utterly non-scientific. And why? Because the placebos used in the studies weren’t really placebos at all, rendering the studies scientifically invalid.

This is the conclusion from researchers at the University of California who published their findings in the October issue of the Annals of Internal Medicine. They reviewed 167 placebo-controlled trials published in peer-reviewed medical journals in 2008 and 2009 and found that 92 percent of those trials never even described the ingredients of their placebo pills.

Why is this important? Because placebo pills are supposed to be inert. But nothing is inert, it turns out. Even so-called “sugar pills” contain sugar, obviously. And sugar isn’t inert. If you’re running a clinical trial on diabetics, testing the effectiveness of a diabetes drug versus a placebo then obviously your clinical trial is going to make the diabetes drug look better than placebo if you use sugar pills as your placebo.

Some placebo pills use olive oil which may actually improve heart health. Other placebo pills use partially-hydrogenated oils which harm heart health. Yet only 8 percent of clinical trials bothered to list the placebo ingredients at all!

Stay with me on this placebo issue… because it gets even more bizarre…

It turns out there are absolutely no FDA rules regarding the choice or composition of placebos used in clinical trials. Technically, a clinical trial director could use eye of newt or lizard’s legs as placebo and would not even be required to mention such nefarious details in the trial results. The number of people with diabetes has soared by 150,000 in the past year and one in 20 adults in the UK now has the condition, according to the latest figures from GP practices.

The data released by the charity Diabetes UK also shows that almost one in 10 adults, or 5.5 million people, are obese. The charity described these figures as “shocking” and it is calling on the government to put into practice its rhetoric on tackling health problems through prevention.

There is a strong link with type 2 diabetes and being overweight, sedentary and eating unhealthily. About 90% of diabetics – 2.5 million people in the UK – suffer from the type 2 condition. The figures, collected from GP practices between April 2009 and March this year, showed that about 2.8 million people aged 17 and over have diabetes — an increase of more than 150,000 since last year.

Another 1.1 million people are likely to suffer from diabetes without being aware of it. Diabetes UK has a risk score test on its website that can help to show an individual’s likelihood of developing type 2.

Researchers have found that Alzheimer’s may be transmitted in humans through blood, but further investigations needs to be done as the initial study was done on mice.

A study conducted by Lary Walker at Emory University and Mathias Jucker at the University of Tübingen and their colleagues, the findings have indicated that brain plaques that resemble Alzheimer’s are formed in mice when the protein that is responsible for this disease is injected into their bellies.

It was not so long ago (the year 2006) that the same group of researchers found that they could trigger Alzheimer-like plaques in healthy mice that were injected with samples of plaque from other mice.

In their second experiment, the group had developed beta-amyloid protein in substantial quantities from genetically modified mice (similar to the plaques formed in Alzheimer’s) which they extracted from these mice when they were two years old, and injected it into the lining of the abdomen of transgenic mice. On the other hand, another set of mice were injected with healthy brain tissue.

In comparing the two groups after a period of seven months, researchers found that the mice injected with healthy brain tissue had normal brains while those injected with tissue that had beta-amyloid protein had developed plaques very similar to those found in people with Alzheimer’s.

And since the beta-amyloid was injected into their stomachs, caused the plaque in their brains, one important question has been asked: Can Alzheimer’s be transmitted in humans through blood transfusion?

Disease in rural China linked to polluted coal

WASHINGTON, D.C., (Oct. 19, 2010) — In remote, rural areas of southwestern China, villagers cook and dry their clothes by burning pieces of coal they pick up off the ground. This fuel releases a toxin that may be poisoning millions of people, according to an ongoing investigation by chemists at the University at Buffalo in New York. The researchers are presenting their work today at the AVS 57th International Symposium & Exhibition, which takes place this week at the Albuquerque Convention Center in New Mexico.

The toxin in question is fluoride, which binds to calcium in the human body and causes the disease fluorosis. This condition, which affects millions in China’s Guizhou province, can cause dental problems, such as discolored and pitted teeth, as well as joint pain, muscular degeneration, and deformities in joints and the spine.

Worldwide, the most common source of excess fluoride is polluted water. But according to Joseph Gardella, a chemist at UB who has collaborated on a research project with Professor Handong Liang of the China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing (CUMTB), polluted coal may also be to blame.

“Careful research supported by the Chinese government eliminated water as the source, and pointed to air pollution from coal fired home fireplace,” says Gardella. “The government has focused on finding solutions to the health issues resulting from the pollution in the villages and in identifying solutions to eliminating the pollution sources.”

Gardella and graduate student Brett Yatzor analyzed samples of the coal gathered by the villagers using a variety of imaging techniques — including Time-of-Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry, which reveals not only the composition of a sample but also its chemical structure.

Thyroid cancer patients are walking dirty bombs after drinking radioactive poison as cancer therapy

Cancer patients who receive radiation of their thyroid glands by being given radioactive iodine are highly radioactive for up to a week following their release from the hospital — and they end up irradiating not just hospital rooms but also other patients, friends and family members. A part of their “cancer treatment,” they are instructed by doctors to drink a radioactive liquid containing iodine-131 (a radioisotope of iodine) which travels to their thyroid gland and burns it out with radiation. Believe it or not, this is called “scientific medicine.” Really.

It might as well just be called a Weapon of Mass Destruction given how it indiscriminately harms anyone who happens to be standing nearby. Iodine-131, by the way, is why the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster in the former Soviet Union was so deadly: it’s a product of uranium fission and is extremely potent at causing cell mutation and death (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iodine-131). It has a half-life of 8 days, meaning that the amount of radiation it gives off drops by half every 8 days.

Why the Nuclear Regulatory Commission allows cancer clinics to turn patients into walking dirty bombs

Actual terrorists, by the way, have no doubt figured out that if they want to sneak a dirty bomb into any U.S. city, all they need is a note from their doctor saying they’ve undergone radioactive thyroid treatment. Oh, that’s why there’s so much radiation coming from you! You’re from the cancer clinic!

But if radioactive cancer patients — also known as “medical dirty bomb carriers” — are so dangerous to the people around them, why are doctors sending them out into the world immediately following their radioactive treatments? It all has to do with the loosey-goosey rules of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, which says it’s fine for highly radioactive patients to be released from the hospital. So now, about 40,000 walking “dirty bomb” patients are released onto the streets each year. And the damage they can cause around them will astound you:

According to the congressional report put together by Congressman Ed Markey (Massachusetts), one radioactive patient boarded a bus in New York, setting off radiation detectors in the Lincoln Tunnel. State police halted the bus to look for terrorists but only found a thyroid cancer patient, who apparently ignored advice to avoid public transportation. (Should it be a crime to irradiate other passengers on a public bus? If terrorists did it, they’d be rotting away in a secret offshore prison somewhere… so why are doctors allowed to cause this?)

This report also found that about 7 percent of radioactive patients go directly to hotels after being treated. There, they irradiate bed linens and towels which get washed together with other linens and towels, turning the entire hotel into a radioactive dirty bomb. How do investigators know this? Because in one instance, nuclear plant workers just happened to be staying at just such a hotel, and they absorbed enough radiation to actually set off radiation alarms as they reported to work the next day!

Yet another way the cancer industry threatens the health of Americans

The upshot of all this is that making cancer patients drink radioactive liquids is truly a questionable way to “treat” anybody. It’s not only disastrously bad for the patient; it also harms the public by exposing countless others to ionizing radiation. This exposure, of course, promotes more cancer and therefore more repeat business for cancer clinics. So the more people the cancer industry treats with radiation and unleashes onto the streets, the more new business they’ll have walking through their doors.

School Garden Food Grown By Teachers And Students Forbidden In School Lunchrooms, Has To Be Sold Or Given Away

Those kids developed a connection with nature and that is priceless. Now let them also have the benefit from it. This is so important. There are already enough zombies out there.

Most school garden produce is forbidden fruit in CPS lunchrooms

It’s harvest time in Chicago Public School gardens full of chubby tomatoes, heavy squash and fragrant basil.

These urban oases, carefully tended by teachers, students and volunteers, range from several square feet to several acres of fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers, and some schools even grow plants year-round in school greenhouses.

But one thing the more than 40 gardens have in common is that none of the produce ever finds its way into CPS lunchrooms. Instead, because of rules set by the district and its meal provider, the food is sold or given away.

The policies are in place despite the high obesity rate among Illinois children and experts’ concerns that young people are eating few fresh vegetables. Meanwhile, a studies suggest children eat and accept vegetables much more readily when they have helped grow them.

But in a district that touts its use of some local produce in the lunchroom, the most local of all remains forbidden fruit.

Kathleen Merrigan, deputy secretary of agriculture at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, recently toured a CPS school garden at the Academy for Global Citizenship on the Southwest Side. There, two second-grade girls showed her the eggplant, squash and tomatoes they grew, along with the chickens they kept for eggs.

“Ideally, all of those products would make it from the garden to the lunchroom,” Merrigan said.

But rules created by CPS and its meals supplier, Chartwells-Thompson, prevent that from happening.

“In order to use food in the school food program, it would need to meet specific/certified growing practices,” CPS spokeswoman Monique Bond said.

These requirements would include eliminating all “pesticides and insecticide” applications and using only “commercially prepared organic compost and fertilizers,” said Bob Bloomer, regional vice president of Chartwells-Thompson.

Commercial vendors, though, don’t have to abide by these rules. They can sell the district produce treated with several pesticides and grown in nonorganic fertilizer.

But produce grown by the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences on its 25-acre farm wouldn’t make the grade because, for example, it treats its corn with a single pesticide.

Instead, the high school ends up selling most of the bounty — including pumpkins, tomatoes, squash, greenhouse basil, farm-raised tilapia, fresh eggs and blueberries. Other schools give away the produce or send it home with kids.

The Food and Drug Administration approved the drug for patients who experience 15 or more days of migraine headaches per month. Allergan, which specializes in beauty and eye-care drugs, said roughly 3.2 million people in the U.S. have chronic migraines.

Walking may protect the brain against shrinking and preserve memory in the elderly, according to research by US neurologists who monitored 300 volunteers over 13 years.

The data lends statistical authority to anecdotal findings, including the legendary perambulations of Alfred Wainwright, Benny Rothman and the Guardian’s Harry Griffin.

Although very different in character – a grump, a communist warrior and an ex-brigadier – they lived for a combined total of 268 years thanks, in their own estimation, to lives spent largely on foot and outdoors.

The US study bears this out, with neurological tests on dementia-free people in Pittsburgh who agreed to log their walks and accept brain monitoring in 1995.

Tests nine years later, followed by a further round in 2008, showed that those who walked the most cut their risk of developing memory problems by half.

The study suggest that nine miles a week – or in the urban US terms of the data, 72 Pittsburgh city blocks – is the optimum distance for “neurological exercise”.

The paper, published in Neurology, the online medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology, found no discernible bonus in going the extra mile after that.

The first round of scans showed that nine-mile walkers had larger brains than those who walked around for less.

After a further four years, 116 volunteers – 40% of the sample – had developed some dementia or cognitive impairment, with the effects 50% greater on those who walked only short distances and on non-walkers.

Mammograms produce more false positives than legitimate tumor detections in young women

(NaturalNews) Mammograms deliver overwhelmingly more false positive results than true positives in women under the age of 40, according to a new study conducted by researchers from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

In a false positive result, a mammogram detects signs of a tumor that turns out to be non-cancerous or otherwise not dangerous to a woman’s health.

“In a theoretical population of 10,000 women aged 35 to 39 years, 1,266 women who are screened will receive further workup, with 16 cancers detected and 1,250 women receiving a false-positive result,” the researchers wrote.

“Harms need to be considered, including radiation exposure, because such exposure is more harmful in young women; the anxiety associated with false-positive findings on the initial examination; and costs associated with additional imaging.”

The researchers examined the medical records of more than 117,000 U.S. women who got their first mammograms between the ages of 18 and 39. In the ensuing year, not a single woman under the age of 25 was diagnosed with breast cancer. For women between 35 and 39, 12.7 percent were called back for further tests but only 0.16 percent actually had cancer.

Because breast cancer rates in young women are so low, screening them is like “looking for a needle in a haystack,” lead researcher Bonnie Yankaskas said.

Nonetheless, 29 percent of U.S. women between the ages of 30 and 40 say they have had at least one mammogram.

Reacting to the study, the American Cancer Society reiterated that it does not recommend screening in women under the age of 40.

GM Flax Contamination Detected in 35 Countries

Oct. 15 (NaturalNews) Since the Flax Council of Canada (FCC) first announced that genetically modified (GM) flaxseed not approved for human consumption had been detected in Europe, reports of such contamination have surfaced in a total of 35 countries.

The variety of flax detected is known as FP967 or Triffid, and was never approved for commercial use. In 2001, the Canadian government banned its use. Researchers are still unsure how commercial flax stocks around the world have become so widely contaminated by Triffid’s genetic material.

What is known is that by 2001, 40 different seed producers were growing 20,000 bushels of Triffid seed, anticipating future demand. When the GM crop was banned, the stocks were supposed to be destroyed. Some investigators suspect that instead, much of it was put into production anyway. Others have pointed the finger at the sample seed packets distributed to farmers in 2000. Although such packets were not intended for commercial use, some farmers may nevertheless have planted and eventually commercialized them. Alternatively, genetic contamination of non-GM flax could have taken place during Triffid’s testing phases, before it was banned and without widescale commercial planting.

Organic produce will be labeled with 5 digits also but will begin with the number 9. Always check the label twice, as it is sometimes hard to tell at first glance.

As far as other food products, it is also all told in the labeling.

If a product is labeled as organic, it may not be fully organic. FDA regulations and rules allow for products that are not 100% organic to be labeled organic. Look for labels indicating that the product is 100% organic. When a product contains this label, it is truly organic. This means that it also does not contain any genetically modified ingredients.

Always read the ingredients of a product anyway to ensure there are no harmful additives, but the 100% organic label is the ideal label when it comes to searching for quality food products. So what if a product isn’t 100% organic? How do you know if it contains genetically modified ingredients? Products labeled “Non-GMO” or “GMO-free” are statements that indicate the absence of genetically modified ingredients. Keep in mind that high-fructose corn syrup is known for being genetically modified, so avoid products containing this ingredient. High-fructose corn syrup has also been found to contain mercury.

Cancer is a modern man-made disease caused by the excesses of modern life, a new study suggests.

Researchers looking at almost a thousand mummies from ancient Egypt and South America found only a handful suffered from cancer when now it accounts for nearly one in three deaths.

The findings suggest that it is modern lifestyles and pollution levels caused by industry that are the main cause of the disease and that it is not a naturally occurring condition.

The study showed the disease rate has risen dramatically since the Industrial Revolution, in particular childhood cancer – proving that the rise is not simply due to people living longer.

Now it is hoped that it could lead to better understanding of the origins of cancer and to new treatments for the disease which claims more than 150,000 lives a year in the UK alone.

“In industrialised societies, cancer is second only to cardiovascular disease as a cause of death,” said Professor Rosalie David, a biomedical Egyptologist at the University of Manchester.

“But in ancient times, it was extremely rare. There is nothing in the natural environment that can cause cancer. So it has to be a man-made disease, down to pollution and changes to our diet and lifestyle.

“Cancer appears to be a modern disease created by modern life.”

To trace the origins of cancer, Prof David and colleague Professor Michael Zimmerman, looked for evidence of the disease in hundreds of mummified bodies dating back up to 3,000 years and also in fossils and ancient medical texts.

Despite tried and tested techniques of viewing rehydrated tissue under the microscope they found that only five cases of tumours, most of which were benign.

Malaysia to Use GM Mosquitoes to Fight Dengue Fever

PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia (AP) – Malaysia could be the first country in Asia to use genetically modified mosquitoes to battle a rise in dengue fever, government authorities said Monday.

The program calls for genetically engineered male mosquitoes to be released into the wild that would mate with females and produce offspring that live shorter lives, thus curbing the population.

Malaysian scientists say laboratory test trials have made them optimistic.

“It is a pilot project, and hopefully it will work,” Prime Minister Najib Razak told reporters on the sidelines of a World Health Organization conference in Malaysia.

Dengue fever, spread by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, is common in Asia and Latin America. Symptoms include high fever, joint pains and nausea, but in severe cases, it can lead to internal bleeding, liver enlargement, circulatory shutdown and death. There is no known cure or vaccine.

Efforts to urge Malaysians to keep neighborhoods clean and destroy stagnant sources of water — which are mosquito breeding grounds — have failed, and “innovative ways” are needed to combat dengue, Najib said.

In Malaysia, the number of dengue-linked deaths totaled 117 between January and early October — a 65 percent surge from last year, according to Health Ministry statistics. Dengue infections overall increased 17 percent from last year to more than 37,000 cases.

Malaysian authorities plan to release between 2,000 and 3,000 genetically modified mosquitoes in two areas, said Lim Chua Leng, a Health Ministry official. The plan, which cannot be undertaken without Cabinet approval, would be the first such release of genetically modified mosquitoes in Asia to combat dengue.

(NaturalNews) Bisphenol A (BPA), the endocrine-disrupting plastics compound that has garnered much attention for its prevalence in infant- and water bottles, is far more common in an even more widely used family of products: canned foods and beverages.

Almost 100 percent of canned food and beverage products on the market are lined with a resin made from BPA, and have been since the 1940s. These epoxy resins prevent the metal of the can from influencing the flavor of the food. More importantly, they prevent compounds in the food from reacting with the metal, causing spoilage and even causing cans to explode.

Exposure from this source is “far more extensive” than from plastic bottles, said Shanna Swan of the University of Rochester in New York. After all, BPA is known to leach from cans into food, the chemical is used in nearly all canned products, and nearly everyone consumes such products regularly.

BPA is known to mimic estrogen and otherwise interfere with the hormonal system, and studies have linked it to elevated risks of cancer, diabetes and heart disease. In January, the FDA admitted for the first time that “some concern” exists over the chemical’s effects.

More recent findings are even more troubling, suggesting that BPA can effect “epigenetic changes,” modifying the way that the body’s genes are expressed in a way that can be passed on to an exposed person’s children and grandchildren. One of these changes removes carbon groups that lock DNA from being affected by estrogens in the environment.
