The entire editorial board of the Washington Post functions as a group of hilarious quack science Monsanto operatives pretending to be engaged in reporting real news. It’s so bad that key articles published by the Post now appear to be “written” by Monsanto, with the “Greenwashington Post” parroting Monsanto’s quack corporate “science” talking points. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the Post’s hit piece response to Chipotle’s announcement of going 100% non-GMO on their menu items.

As background to all this, customer demand for non-GMO foods is exploding across America. People don’t want to eat foods laced with cancer-causing glyphosate, the herbicide chemical that’s sprayed on most GMO crops, and they also don’t want to eat foods made from GMO corn, a crop which grows its own deadly pesticides inside every grain. The fresh food movement is taking America by storm.

How many times do you hear preppers and liberty-minded folks make statements along the line of “When the schumer hits the fan, I will take such action,” or “After some event I will make that change,” or “If it gets to that point, then I’ll take a stand!”? These ideas are based on the premise that there will be “the big event.” The assumption among many preppers and liberty activists is that there will be a clear cut “before” and “after,” with a defining moment, event, or series of events, delineating between the two. Such events could include economic collapse, natural disaster, a pandemic, an EMP or CME, a “terrorist” attack, or martial law. I myself have at times fallen into this very trap.

Meet Gulmurod Khalimov, the US-trained and funded former commander of Tajikistan’s special forces, who, as Reuters reports, has now gone to Syria to fight with ISIS. He has a message: “Listen, you American pigs, I’ve been three times to America, and I saw how you train fighters to kill Muslims…God willing, I will come with this weapon to your cities, your homes, and we will kill you.”

As Reuters reports:

Colonel Gulmurod Khalimov commanded the Central Asian nation’s special-purpose police known as OMON, used against criminals and militants. He disappeared in late April, prompting a search by Tajik police.

He reappeared Wednesday, vowing to bring jihad to Russia and the United States as he brandished a cartridge belt and sniper rifle, in a professionally made, 10-minute video clip posted in social networks.

Here is an excerpt of that video, in Russian

“The video, allegedly made in Syria, says that Khalimov joined the jihadists in protest against government policies that do not allow namaz (canonical prayer) or the wearing of Islamic dress,” the video’s Russian source states.

The Washington Post’s Ishaan Tharoor compiled some of Khalimov’s fun video soundbites:

“Listen, you dogs, the president and ministers,” Khalimov says in the video, “if only you knew how many boys, our brothers are here, waiting and yearning to return to reestablish sharia law there.”…

“Listen, you American pigs, I’ve been three times to America, and I saw how you train fighters to kill Muslims,” he said. “God willing, I will come with this weapon to your cities, your homes, and we will kill you.”

Did you really think that Baltimore would return to normal after everything that has happened?  On Thursday, a mother and her 7-year-old son were both shot in the head in a double murder that has shocked the entire nation.  Police believe that the son may have been shot in order to prevent him from identifying the individual that shot his mother.  So is this what America is turning into?  A place where 7-year-old kids are executed in cold blood?  That mother and son were the 37th and 38th murder victims in the city of Baltimore so far this month.  That makes this the deadliest month in Baltimore in 15 years, but because of all the controversy surrounding the death of Freddie Gray, police in Baltimore are afraid to do their jobs at this point.  In some areas of the city, young men boldly smoke weed in public and wave guns around at innocent bystanders without any worry that police will intervene.  Baltimore has descended into a state of lawlessness, and this is just the beginning.  As I discussed just the other day, the same kind of lawlessness will soon sweep all across this country.

And you thought the preliminary 0.2% Q1 GDP print from last month was bad. Moments ago, just as we warned, the BEA released its latest, first, revision of Q1 GDP (pre second-seasonal adjustments of course), and we just got confirmation that for the third time in the past four years, the US economy suffered a quarterly contraction, with the Q1 GDP revised drastically from a 0.2% growth to a drop of -0.7%: the worst print since snow struck, so very unexpectedly, last winter.

Back in February, Russia detailed a SWIFT alternative that would link 91 domestic banks to the Central Bank of Russia.

On the one hand, the plan represented yet another move towards global de-dollarization but on the other, was borne out of necessity when Russia began to believe it may be expelled from SWIFT as punishment for its support of rebels in Ukraine. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev warned of “unlimited consequences” if the West decided on a punitive SWIFT freeze.

Two months later, Moscow would receive a seat on the SWIFT board.

Parents of children as young as nine have reacted angrily after schools in an east London borough asked pupils to complete surveys designed to provide clues to possible radicalisation. Waltham Forest council has been piloting the scheme in five primary schools with large Muslim intakes. The questionnaire, circulated among year 6 pupils, asks how much they trust the police and people from another race or religion.

They are also asked whether they agree that it is acceptable to marry someone from outside their race or religion and whether women are just as good as men at work. Another question asks if the pupils believe their religion is the only correct one. About 22% of the population in Waltham Forest, one of the most deprived local authorities in England, are Muslim.

The programme has been funded with a €500,000 (£360,000) grant from an EU fund – the Radicalisation Leading to Terrorism Programme – designed to “identify the initial seeds of radicalisation with children of primary school age”.

Guardian: Shindake erupts without warning

Yomiuri Shimbun: Expert: Possibility eruption was magmatic… the direct ejection of magma… Setsuya Nakada, a professor at the University of Tokyo’s Volcano Research Center, said Friday’s eruption appeared to be magmatic after observing the height of its volcanic column and the way its pyroclastic flows had been generated.

AP: A volcano erupted in spectacular fashion… spewing out rocks and sending black clouds of ash 9 kilometers (5.6 miles) into the sky… The agency raised the alert level… to five, the highest on its scale… The eruption [of Mount Ontake] last September… killed 57 people. Setsuya Nakada [said this] eruption on Kuchinoerabu was stronger than Mount Ontake’s.

Nakada: “This sort of activity has continued [since 3/11]… Probably the eruptions will continue.”

Prof. Ryusuke Imura, specialist in volcanic geology at Kagoshima Univ.: “I don’t think this is finished. The activity could continue and we could see another, more powerful eruption.”

Sadayuki Kitagawa, JMA official: “More strong and large scale explosions could happen.”

The paradox is that while the number of Japan’s unemployed dropped by 20,000, the number of those employed plunged by 280,000! Or as Goldman calls, it “growth in jobholders looks to have peaked amid a lack of recovery momentum in the economy”

After last month’s modest (dead-cat) bounce back from winter’s collapse to 6 year lows, this re-collapse is hardly the kind of Q2-recovery-reinforcing data the mainstream wants. With the level now back at the same when Lehman hit, New Orders, Production, and Employment all contracted in May.
