China calls for the UN to displace people and financialise the natural world in the name of “biodiversity”:

China’s minister of ecology and environment, speaking at the United Nations, called for a collective effort to implement a global biodiversity framework. A framework which will displace an estimated 300 million indigenous people and financialise the natural world. It is a monstrous and unprecedented assault on our living world under the guise of biodiversity.

The Chinese minister, Huang Runqiu, who is also the president of COP15 – the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations (“UN”) Convention on Biological Diversity – spoke on Thursday via video at a UN briefing to permanent missions to the UN.  The briefing was organised by the UN Environment Programme (“UNEP”), the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (“CBD”) and China.

Huang stressed the building of a shared community of common destiny through the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.

COP15 adopted the Kunming-Montreal framework, which “provides a blueprint for global biodiversity governance, sets goals, clarifies the path, and brings together collective efforts”, Huang said. The blueprint for global biodiversity conservation has been drafted, and the time has come to translate it into reality, he said.

Over the next two years, China will continue to preside, urging all parties to promote the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal framework and execute the decisions made at the COP15 conference, Huang said.

The above was extracted from an article titled ‘Chinese official urges global effort on biodiversity conservation’ published by China Daily on 10 July 2023.  Read the full article HERE.

According to the Indigenous Environmental Network, “COP15 prioritised the expansion of false solutions, harmful instruments, and the financialisation of Mother Earth over the true protection of biodiversity.”

Prominent on COP15’s agenda were new financial instruments tied to Nationally Determined Contributions (“NDC”) and foreign debt, the expansion of nature-based solutions (“NBS”), including biodiversity offsets through the framework, as well as digital sequencing information (“DSI”) and the expansion of geoengineering technologies. The final text of COP15, the Kunming-Montreal framework, includes a range of false solutions that cater to private finance.

These false solutions include NBS, the financialisation and commodification of nature, geoengineering, and offsetting schemes as well as genetic engineering in the forms of synthetic biology and gene drives.

Finance was another major theme at COP15.  Private interests pushed to establish a uniform system of standards and metrics for measuring “natural capital,” which includes biodiversity, as well as to create a new type of “biodiversity credits” to be harmonised with other carbon markets in the future.

The Kunming-Montreal framework also sets out a 30 by 30 goal, to set aside 30% of land and oceans as “Protected Areas,” areas within which human activity is restricted or prohibited.  In achieving this target, there was an aggressive push to include market-based approaches and, in terms of implementation, there is a real risk and threat to ensuring indigenous peoples’ rights over their lands, waters, and territories are upheld.  Survival International said that the 30 by 30 goal will displace around 300 million indigenous people from their native lands and forests in the name of “conservation.”

The No Deal for Nature’ campaign investigated and detailed the monstrous and unprecedented assault on our living world under the guise of biodiversity.  “At the forefront is the accelerating loss of biodiversity, upon which all life depends,” the campaign states, “this very real threat is now being marketed and exploited to reboot the global economy.”

Also behind the global push to “protect and restore nature” is the World Economic Forum (“WEF”), which entered into a partnership with the UN on 13 June 2019 to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals or Global Goals (“SDG”).

Since WEF’s meeting at Davos in 2021, WEF has publicly discussed how these goals can be used to achieve King Charles’ “Great [financial] Reset.”

In April, WEF announced that world leaders would be gathering together in September this year to “accelerate the implementation of Agenda 2030.” The UN and WEF appeared frustrated by a lack of progress made towards their “Great Reset” ideology, alongside Agenda 2030, the ideological successor to the failed “Millennium Development Goals.”  In its announcement, WEF seemed desperate to make up for lost time and impose the UN goals as quickly as possible.

Conservation of biological diversity is the subject of Chapter 15 of Agenda 21 and has been translated into Agenda 2030 as SDG15.  Don’t be fooled by the use of the word “conservation,” it has nothing to do with conservation.

Buried within three of the UN’s foundational documents are the true aims of SDG15.  These three documents are the 1992 Biodiversity Treaty; the 1992 Wildlands Project and the 1995 Global Biodiversity Assessment. Perhaps after reading our previous article HERE about these documents, you will conclude, as we have, that the only truthful word in the phrase “conservation of biological diversity” is “of.”

We should be concerned about the “green” financial swindle that is underway right now.  It is not just a financial swindle but one of the largest natural land resource grabs in the history of our planet.  They are selling it to people with collectivist terminology and propaganda claiming that we all have to come together to save the planet.  But in reality, we’re not saving the planet.

“If we go along with this, we’re handing [the planet] on a silver platter to people that will destroy it and will destroy us as a species,” Whitney Webb told James Corbett when discussing her work on the “green” transformation of the global financial system using Natural Asset Corporations (“NACs”) and the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (“GFANZ”).

The Rockefeller Foundation – the Rockefellers, who view the UN as their own little organisation – played a pivotal role in the creation of NACs in September 2021. The ultimate goal of NACs is to extract near-infinite profits from the natural processes they seek to quantify and then monetise.  Principals of GFANZ – John Kerry, Janet Yellen, Mark Carney and BlackRock’s Larry Fink – have long been enthusiastic about the prospects of NACs and other related efforts to financialise the natural world.  Fink has also played a key role in marketing such financialisation as necessary to combat climate change.

GFANZ has united the world’s most powerful private banks and financial institutions behind what it sees, first and foremost, as “a vast commercial opportunity,” the exploitation of which it is marketing as a “planetary imperative.”  The powerful banking interests that compose this group are pushing to recreate the entire global financial system for their benefit under the guise of promoting sustainability.

Though GFANZ has cloaked itself in lofty rhetoric of “saving the planet,” its plans ultimately amount to a corporate-led coup that will make the global financial system even more corrupt and predatory and further reduce the sovereignty of national governments in the developing world.
