But even that has been muffled of late as the reality of the unsustainability of even that sinks in.
Total UK electricity output is circa 66TW to meet domestic and industrial demand.
If all vehicles were to go electric, that will coincidentally add another 66TW.
As Power Plants in coal, oil & nuclear are being closed, supply is helped with gas plants, using gas from Norway & now Russia (sic!!!) at ever increasing prices and insecurity.
So, six new wind farms were allocated offshore to meet the new increase, but these have now quietly lost impetus, indicating a realisation that the whole thing is a white elephant and the only alternative is clean diesel.
Strangely there was no mention of the inability of electric motors to compete with diesels in the supply chain logistics market.
So, is the whole thing just semantics and hot air?
