London: Man, 31, arrested over murder of 22-year-old barmaid on Finsbury Park

Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old barmaid found dead in Finsbury Park.

Iuliana Tudos was found stabbed and with a head injury in the park on Wednesday afternoon, three days after she had last been seen.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in east London on Monday afternoon. 

A police statement said he was arrested in Dalston at around 1.30pm and is in custody at a south-west London police station.

Iuliana, who was also known as Julia and Lili, had been missing since Chrismas Eve when she had caught a bus back from her work in Camden to her home in Upper Tollington Park.

She had been due to meet with friends in Enfield on Christmas Day but never arrived, prompting a police appeal for informtation on her whereabouts.

On December 27 her devastated friends, who were out looking for her, were reported to have discovered her body in a disused outhouse in an area of the park close to Green Lanes.

Police said they believed she had been attacked where she was found. she died of a stab wound to the abdomen and a head injury.
