Snow arrived early in northern Spain this week, much earlier than normal.
The Picos de Europa mountain range saw 5 cm of snowfall, a record for this early in September. (Not much, maybe, but still a record.) Other mountainous regions of Cantabria are likewise blanketed in white.
It’s also cold. The mercury has plummeted in the Pyrenees, dropping to as low as -10C overnight.
Temperatures are expected to return to normal over the next few days.

Just flew over the Spanish Pyrenees.
Looked everywhere for snow. Both sides of the plane.
Saw absolutely nothing.
