After having deconstructed the White Helmets’ propaganda narratives and the nature of the organization over a year ago, journalist Vanessa Beeley recently traveled to Syria and uncovered yet more proof that the White Helmets are nothing more than al-Nusra and al-Qaeda members simply acting as the terrorist organizations’ propaganda wing.
After demonstrating clearly that the al-Nusra headquarters and the White Helmets headquarters in Sakhour, East Aleppo were, in actuality, the same location, Beeley was able to talk with numerous Syrian civilians who suffered under Nusra’s control during the time in which the Syrian government had yet to retake and liberate East Aleppo. Beeley asked these civilians about the role of the White Helmets during that time and their answers might shock anyone buying into the propaganda narrative being disseminated by Western corporate media outlets and the poorly made award-“winning” documentary dedicated to them.
In Beeley’s series of interviews, one can hear for himself the statements coming from actual Syrians who lived alongside these terrorists as they tormented East Aleppo residents until they were driven out by the Syrian military.
“30th April 2017,” Beeley wrote, “I visited the White Helmet centres in Marjeh and Bab Al Nairab, East Aleppo, vacated since the liberation of East Aleppo from Nusra Front led occupation in December 2016. The White Helmets departed with Nusra Front in the buses that evacuated many of them to Idlib. They left behind undeniable evidence of the White Helmet affiliation with and allegiance to Al Qaeda, Syrian civilian testimony and paperwork, graffitti all testify to the White Helmets being Al Qaeda “with a facelift”.
In the first video, Beeley talks with a young boy about what he witnessed in East Aleppo. The interview was conducted in Bab al-Nairab, East Aleppo, at the shared White Helmets/Nusra headquarters, a fact that should go some length toward exposing the true nature of the White Helmets in its own right.
Boy: Here it was a prison and they used to torture people here . . . Jobhat al Nusra and the White Helmets.
Beeley: Used to bring people here to torture them?
Boy: Yes . . . yes
Beeley: So the White Helmets and Nusra Front were working together?
Boy: Yes, of course.Beeley: [To the translator] Does he know people who were brought here?
Translator: Yes, one of his relatives
Beeley: They survived?
Boy: They tortured him . . . Yes, he survived. They tortured him for a week . . .
Beeley: What does he think of the White Helmets?
Boy: They are not good, and they used to steal a lot . . .
Beeley: And they worked with . . . ?
Boy: and they worked with al Nusra Front, al-Qaeda . . .
The camera then pans the room to show White Helmets gear in the structure that acted as both a torture chamber and an execution room.
Outside of the compound, Beeley interviewed another person, an older man who had been a business owner in the area, who was willing to share his story as well.
Beeley: Nusra Front took over this area . . . So they took his house?
Translator: Yes, they took his house so they had to run away
Man: They took everything
Translator: He had his storage here, he owned businesses here . . . they stole everything
Man: On the 9th July 2012
Beeley: And they turned the building into a Sharia court?
Man: Yes they [Nusra Front] turned this building into a Sharia court . . . and here they used it as a place for White Helmets vehicles . . .
Beeley: The White Helmets center was here?
Man: In the beginning the cars were here and they were in the same building with the Nusra Front/al-Qaeda.
Beeley: They were in the same building with Nusra Front/al-Qaeda?
Man: Yes! The same building.
Beeley: Then they moved?
Man: Yes, they moved to [across the road]
Beeley: Were they [White Helmets] still working with Nusra Front [al Qaeda]?
Beeley: Did they hold people in prison in this area?
Man: Yes . . . they imprisoned people and tortured them
Beeley: And the White Helmets also participated?
Man: Yes. They [White Helmets] were with them [Nusra Front/al-Qaeda]
The White Helmets have long been exposed for being nothing more than al-Qaeda’s propaganda outfit, having even signed a document as a statement of solidarity with al-Qaeda fighters in Barada, Damascus, threatening to withhold drinking water from Syrian civilians unless the Syrian military ending all military operations there.
If there was any doubt about the true nature of the White Helmets, I suggest reading my previous articles on the group as well as Vanessa Beeley’s excellent work on the same topic.
