In July, during the 95th anniversary of the Chinese revolution, President Xi Jinping made a speech remarkably far from the usual reserve of  Chinese authorities.

He stated 
“The world is on the verge of radical change. We see that the European Union is gradually disintegrating, we see how the US economy is crashing, and all this will end with a new reorganization of the world. In 10 years, we can expect a new world order in which the key factor is the alliance between China and Russia.
“We are seeing aggressive actions of the USA, both regarding Russia and China. I believe that Russia and China can create an alliance to which NATO would be feeble, and it would end the imperialist ambitions of the West.” **

The economic synergy between Russian natural resources and China’s industrial potential is obvious, as would have been such a synergy with Europe.

On July 25 Vladimir Putin charged the Stolypin group to submit an economic development program for the last quarter of 2016. By that he means to get rid of ultra-liberal views of his ex-Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin, to approach the economic model of China, a market economy controlled by the state and not a deregulated capitalism.

Denouncing the aggressiveness of the USA toward China and Russia, the Chinese President actually adopts a defensive posture. It simply means to stop US actions aimed at extending their hegemony. NATO will see a return of its focus to Western Europe, simply a return to its origins.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation does not contain the principle of automatic engagement of the armed forces. In contrast, NATO adopted a simple principle: the USA decides and the members of the organization are but zealous auxiliaries. With the visit of Admiral Guan in Damascus, it is plain that China intends to side with Russia to help restore the sovereignty of Syria.

The Chinese authorities want to deal with Uighur jihadists like the Russian authorities with the jihadists of the Caucasus: They wish as much as possible to eliminate terrorists in Syria before they return to their country of origin.

Iran, an observer member of the SCO, has given carte blanche. For proof, there is the provision of a Russian air base for bombers and its air space for its cruise missiles.

France has let Russia turn to Asia rather than seeing it as a link between Europe and Asia. Her voice no longer counts in the Middle East, ruined by a  diplomacy subordinated to orders from across the Atlantic.

Isolated from Eurasia by the US maneuvers, France will have no other choice than to end up submitting to the USA via the TAFTA and a strengthened NATO. She will be rewarded with a crust of bread for the people and a big helping of gravy for our Euro-Atlanticist elites.
