– Friday’s rain breaks 118-year-old record in Tucson:
(UPDATED 1 p.m.) Friday’s rain in Tucson broke the daily rainfall total set more than 100 years ago.
The National Weather Service said .82 of an inch of rain was recorded at the Tucson airport. That broke the rainfall total for the date, which was .71 set in 1898.
Some areas of Tucson saw more than 2 inches of rain today. The deluge flood streets, stranded motorists and temporarily shut down street car operations.
Milk Thistle (Carduus marianus, Silybum marianum) – This herb is improving liver function. The seeds contain silymarin, a liver-regenerating bioflavonoid used to treat cirrhosis and hepatitis. It is an antidote to the extremely toxic death cap mushroom. Silymarin is stabilizing cell membranes and regenerating liver cells. It’s antioxidant properties help to protect the liver cells from free radical damage. It has been observed that it helps to keep the blood sugar at a steady level. Silymarin reduces intestinal inflammation and worked as effectively as the cholesterol-lowering drug probucol, with the additional benefit of substantially increasing HDL (“good”) cholesterol. It also inhibits cancer cell growth. If one wants to heal and regenerate the liver, one could make use of the homeopathic remedy Carduus marianus D3 (The D3 potency is used for organ regeneration.): 3 x 5 globules daily for about 4-6 weeks. In Europe you can get the remedy at www.remedia.at: http://www.remedia-homeopathy.com/en/homeopathy/Carduus-marianus/a100262.html. Why Remedia? Simply because those guys are still producing the homeopathic remedies as it should be done and you can buy ‘larger’ bottles. (More info on carduus marianus down below.)

– Meet the General Who Tried to Pressure Obama Into World War 3 with Russia:
Meet retired U.S. Air Force General Philip Breedlove. A man who back in 2014 relentlessly tried to get Obama to start what would have been World War 3 with Russia.
The Intercept reports:
Retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Philip Breedlove, until recently the supreme commander of NATO forces in Europe, plotted in private to overcome President Barack Obama’s reluctance to escalate military tensions with Russia over the war in Ukraine in 2014, according to apparently hacked emails from Breedlove’s Gmail account that were posted on a new website called DC Leaks.

– Something “Unexpected” Happened After Starbucks Raised Minimum Wages:
One year ago, when the political push to raise the minimum wage hit a crescendo, the CEO of Starbucks had some words of caution. Howard Schultz told CNN that minimum wage “should go up across the country”, however he warned that “it will be very difficult for small business in the country at a $15 level to pay those kinds of wages.” What about for his own company? “For Starbucks come January 1 we are taking wages up across the country and we will pay above the minimum wage in every state we operate. Starbucks is way above the minimum wage. I have always looked at total compensation.”
His conclusion: “I have always believed that our success as a company is best shared.”
One year later, something “unexpected” has happened as a result of the Schultz’ all too eager push to “share” his company’s success by hiking minimum wages, namely the realization by the company’s employees (if not so much the CEO, management and certainly shareholders) that total compensation is a function of two things: hourly wages and number of hours worked.
As Reuters reports, an online petition accusing Starbucks of “extreme” cutbacks in work hours at its U.S. cafes, hurting both employee morale and customer service, has been signed by more than 9,000 people. Suddenly Starbucks’ eagerness to raise its wages becomes all too clear: after all, it would merely have to reduce work hours, to keep profitability humming.

– Weaponized Water: Israel Cuts off Palestinian Access to Their Own Water Supplies:
According to an experienced reporter on Palestine, 50 percent of the water to a city of 40,000 people has been cut off during Ramadan, a time “when people need to have access to food and water more than any other time.”
(MINTPRESS) Jerusalem — Israel is limiting access to water in Palestine, a long-standing practice that’s only intensified during the holy month of Ramadan, when access to water becomes even more important than usual.
Cuts in water supply are hitting the Occupied West Bank especially hard, Al-Jazeera reported on June 23.

– Homeland Security to Travelers: “Can We See Your Social Media Profile, Please?”:
Department of Homeland Security says collecting social media data will “provide greater clarity and visibility to possible nefarious activity”
File this under Another Unsettling Development: People who want to travel to the United States may soon have their Facebook profiles and other social media accounts “vetted” by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) before entering.
A proposed change to the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) and to Form I-94W posted to the government’s Federal Register last week suggests adding the following question: “Please enter information associated with your online presence—Provider/Platform—Social media identifier.”

– Czech president wants referendum on EU & NATO membership:
The president of the Czech Republic, Milos Zeman, has called for a referendum on his country’s membership in the EU and NATO. Although Zeman wants to remain in both organizations, he wants the public to have a chance to “express themselves.”Support for the EU is waning in the central European country. In April, a poll conducted by the CVVM institute showed that just 25 percent of the population is satisfied with their membership in the bloc, as cited by Reuters. Twelve months earlier, that figure had stood at 32 percent.

– Italy Just Bailed Out Another Failed Bank, May Use Pension Funds For Future Bank Rescues:
Despite – or perhaps due to – Italy’s failed attempt to slide a state-funded €40 billion recapitalization attempt past Angela Merkel while blaming it on Brexit, and coupled with a bailout proposal to provide €150 billion in liquidity to insolvent banks, overnight we got yet another confirmation that the biggest risk factor for Europe is not Brexit but Italy, where yet another failed bank was bailed out. As the FT reports overnight, Atlante, Italy’s privately backed €5bn bank bailout fund which was created in April to stem the threat of contagion from struggling lenders and whose assets turned out to be woefully inadequate, took control of Veneto Banca after a €1bn capital increase demanded by EU bank regulators attracted zero interest.

And without the generous support of some readers the earnings would have been much, much worse.

We really have reached a point of such insanity across human civilization that governments have become the terrorists who actively seek to harm and kill off the people. The latest example demonstrating this very point is the fact that the EPA just announced its plan to allow gigantic increases in the allowable radioactivity in drinking water… increasing it by over 3,000 times in the case of radioactive Iodine-131… while calling it “safe” to drink even though it’s almost certain to give you cancer.
In this public EPA document, the agency says it was ordered by President Obama’s Executive Order 12656 (section 1601(2)) to “[d]evelop, for national security emergencies, guidance on acceptable emergency levels of nuclear radiation….”
In this report, the EPA warns that a nuclear “incident” may strike the United States, and if people are going to drink the radioactive water, somebody needs to decide how much radioactivity Americans will be allowed to consume.
From the EPA report:

Having been forced to remove herself from the Hillary Clinton email probe, Loretta Lynch admitted that her shockingly ill-advised private meeting with Bill Clinton has “cast a shadow” over the investigations and questions on the meeting are “fair.” Her magnanimity was further expressed “I wouldn’t do it again,” while claiming that she had made the decision to ‘recuse’ herself days before her Bubba meeting.

– Puerto Rico Defaults On $2 Billion In Debt Payments:
As expected, Puerto Rico will default on about $2 billion in debt payments Friday, including $780 million in constitutionally-backed general obligation bonds, as governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla has issued an executive order authorizing the suspension of payments. In addition, Garcia Padilla also declared states of emergency at the island’s biggest public pension – the Commonwealth’s Employee Retirement System – which is more than 99% underfunded, as well as the University of Puerto Rico and other agencies Reuters reports. The default will mark the first time a US territory has failed to pay on its general obligation bonds.
“Under these circumstances, these executive orders protect the limited resources available to the agencies listed in these orders and prevents that these can be seized by creditors, leaving Puerto Ricans without basic services,” Garcia Padilla’s administration said in a statement.

– Police Called to Elementary School After 3rd Grader Makes ‘Racist’ Comment About a Brownie:
Before this week, 14-year-old Ella Fishbough had never been in trouble at school.
The cheerful, curly-haired eighth-grader’s undoing came when she learned that a male friend was having a bad day. As consolation, Ella put her arms around him in a hug.
“It was literally for a second,” the eighth-grader told Click Orlando. But that moment earned her a morning in detention — as well as a blemish on her formerly spotless disciplinary record.
It is at each principal’s discretion to determine what kind of touching is inappropriate. According to WFTV Orlando, hugging was banned altogether at Jackson Heights this year, in addition to holding hands, linking arms and kissing.

So this really happened. Via Philly.com:
On June 16, police were called to an unlikely scene: an end-of-the-year class party at the William P. Tatem Elementary School in Collingswood.
A third grader had made a comment about the brownies being served to the class. After another student exclaimed that the remark was “racist,” the school called the Collingswood Police Department, according to the mother of the boy who made the comment.

– Recusal? Loretta Lynch ‘Removes’ Herself From FBI Probe Of Hillary Emails:
On Monday evening US Attorney General Loretta Lynch conveniently just happened to meet up with Bill Clinton for a private meeting on her plane on a Phoenix airport tarmac.
Despite Lynch promising everyone that the only things that were discussed were Bill’s golf game and grandchildren, conservative watchdog Judicial Watch requested that the DOJ’s Office of the Inspector General investigate the meeting. As The Hill reports, pressure is intensifying on Attorney General Loretta Lynch to hand off oversight of the federal investigation connected to Hillary Clinton’s private email server…

– Judicial Watch Demands DOJ Inspector General Probe Into “Scandalous” Lynch-Clinton Meeting:
The political scandal of the day was the news that on Monday evening (coincidentally just before the Benghazi report was released), Bill Clinton and US Attorney General Loretta Lynch just happened to meet on the tarmac at a Phoenix airport – totally unplanned of course. Clinton saw the attorney general and wanted to say hello, so Clinton boarded Lynch’s plane to talk for a bit. Sure, just a quick chat about the weather, his putting stroke, anything except oh, say, an update on what was about to be released on Benghazi, and especially not an update on the ongoing FBI investigation into Hillary.
“Our conversation was a great deal about his grandchildren. It was primarily social and about our travels. He mentioned the golf he played in Phoenix, and he mentioned travels he’d had in West Virginia. There was no discussion of any matter pending for the department or any matter pending for any other body. There was no discussion of Benghazi, no discussion of the State Department emails, by way of example” Lynch told reporters.
While Lynch claims it was a completely random encounter with Hillary Clinton’s husband, even Barack Obama’s former advisor David Axelrod admitted that the meeting created “bad optics”
I take @LorettaLynch & @billclinton at their word that their convo in Phoenix didn’t touch on probe. But foolish to create such optics.
— David Axelrod (@davidaxelrod) June 30, 2016
Sensing an opportunity to drive home a point about the Clintons’ lack of judgment, Trump quickly pounced on the meeting.
