Proposal

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-

Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-

Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-

Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me-and there was no one left to speak for me.

Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892-1984)

Dear Friends,

Today in America a cruel cultural war has been unleashed against the over 100 million people who identify as being of Southern and Appalachian heritage.

Why this war has been unleashed against us should not come as any surprise as the leader of America, President Barack Obama, clearly stated his thoughts about us in 2008 while he was running for the Presidency:

“It’s not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

He couldn’t have been more wrong!

The ONLY thing we “cling” to it is our God, our family and our sense of justice and fair play.

Our guns we use for hunting, sport and protection. Our religion provides the bedrock upon which we live with one another honestly and fairly. Any antipathy [a deep-seated feeling of dislike] we have is reserved for those who seek to destroy our culture and way of life.

But this doesn’t matter now because we are ALL now being targeted for being nothing more than whom we are and what we stand for.

So, how do we fight back? Simple, we use the EXACT SAME TACTICS against them that have long been used against us!

Last week the Supreme Court upheld the right of gay people to marry. A lot of States didn’t want it, the majority of the American people didn’t want it…but you know who did?

The corporations! And believe me, in this country, when money “talks” EVERYONE listens!

In 2011, the Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law, a sexual orientation law and public policy think tank, estimated that 9 million (about 3.8%) of Americans identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.

Now, you may ask, how were just 9 million people able to assert their will against everyone else in a country having a population of 320 million?

Because they stuck together as a group and boycotted EVERY SINGLE CORPORATION they perceived as a threat to their cause.

And what they were able to do with just 9 million, IMAGINE what we can do with 100 million!!!

So let’s play the same “game” the gays did and let these corporations know that we are no longer going to put up with our rights being denied and heritage being destroyed.

Below you’ll find the contact information for the 5 largest consumer corporations selling products in America, and a sample/example short note to send them letting them know you will no longer buy their products because of their supporting the destruction of your rights and heritage.

Be warned though…these corporation’s don’t make it easy to contact them though as their response forms can be long and sometimes confusing…buy you CAN do it!

The reason they make it hard is because they KNOW that only the most dedicated will outlast them…and those are the people they really want to know about.

And then after you send these corporations your letter; see the list below of their products to stop buying…IMMEDIATELY!

Don’t forget either…Send this email out to at least 10 other people, who can then send it out to 10 others, and so forth.

It is ONLY by acting together that we can stop this madness…and if you don’t act, then you have NO ONE to blame but yourself when even worse things happen.

Our Founding Fathers not only gave us our Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and the Constitution, they also gave us sound advice on how to protect them.

And one of them, Benjamin Franklin, told us all EXACTLY what to do whenever we were faced by such tyranny as what we’re experiencing now…

“We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”

Sincerely,

Sons and Daughters of Liberty

Send this short note (or write one yourself):

I am writing to inform you that as of today, my family will no longer purchase [write in company] products of any kind…EVER!

By your placing commercials on the television network TV Land that just cancelled the Duke of Hazards because of its depiction of Southern peoples, and the placement of your products in both Walmart and Target stores who are presently eradicating all symbols having to do with Southern culture and heritage, you have now become a de facto supporter of a cultural war against the 100 million Southern peoples of the United States who were once your faithful customers.

The destruction of our cultural symbols, and the demeaning of our ancestors, by both you and the companies you support, at least in this family, will no longer be allowed.

Thank you.

  1. These corporations hide under many different names, and to boycott all of them all the time would be eminently challenging. As one who is horrified by the strangle hold corporations have on our world and our economy, I am all for it.
The corporations have taken over all areas that used to be a part of free enterprise. All opportunity for individuals has been eliminated. Go to any shopping mall, there are no more individual shops, all are corporate owned chains.

A mall in this area had a wonderful restaurant owned by an enterprising German. It had been there for years, many of us would go there to eat, then do our shopping. It was very successful, but the mall threw him out because he was not corporate owned. We protested, saved his restaurant for a while, but they made his life so miserable, he left.

I am happy to report that half that mall is now boarded up, we abandoned it, and their chain stores are slowing dying……I hope they go under, and it looks as if they will. This is one example of corporate greed that must never be accepted.

Yet, look at any shopping or strip mall, all are corporate chains. Our economy continues to contract because all economic opportunity is grabbed by a few.

As for gay marriage, that opens the door for lots of legal work……more money for the few at the cost of everyone else. The misery of divorce has just been expanded, and divorce has gotten very expensive.

A couple I knew for years came to an agreement, (this was a few years ago, the price has probably gone up) settled their property between them….it still cost them over $25K to get legally divorced.

I am a fan of Charles Dickens, the author, who has the destructive legal system of the UK as a theme in many of his books. One can deduce from Dickens that the legal system was the reason for their fall from greatness. In “Great Expectations” and “Bleak House” the theme is there for all to see.

I believe our legal system, and corrupt supreme court are the end of our world as well. Our leaders work for the enrichment of the few at the cost of the rest of us. The trade deal is just the latest example……93.6 million people out of a working age population of 200 million are out of work. The trade deal will cost us another 40% of our jobs.

What kind of leadership works against our economic best interest every day The kind we have now, all corporate owned and paid. Anyone who gives a dime to the democrats or republicans is a fool……it is time for fresh blood in our leadership.

#1 is to research and identify which corporation owns what and endeavor to boycott. It has to be organized as the writer says. It is time to fight back. They hide their ownership under many different names.

I have visited and love the south. Anyone who believes what that clown said about getting bitter & clinging to religion and guns is a fool. The south has a great and gallant history; I am appalled they avoid teaching history in schools these days. Those who don’t know their history are doomed to repeat it.

Thanks for a good, informative article.
