Massive blaze devastates Russian library housing unique documents, ancient texts (PHOTOS, VIDEO) (RT, Jan 31, 2015):

One of Russia’s largest academic libraries, which contains millions of unique historic documents, has gone up in flames in Moscow. A part of the building’s roof collapsed before dozens of fire fighters managed to contain the blaze.

    Unlike US & UK where history is being re-written to dumb down questioning kids, the Russians seemed so proud of this latest venture aimed at preserving written heritage.

    Hell, it had only just been finished!

  2. Heartbreaking.
    I am so sorry for the good people who worked to preserve these wonderful documents and books. Puts me in mind of the Romans, and their warfare set fire to the great library of Alexandria……much knowledge was lost forever.
    Russia has an ancient civilization, and a history of great minds…….what a loss.
    I mourn with the Russian People.
