SNOW STORM ON THE WAY FOR MONDAY INTO TUESDAY… FOR PORTIONS OF THE NORTHLAND …HEAVY SNOW ACCUMULATIONS. CONFIDENCE FAIRLY HIGH THAT THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL FALL FROM NEAR MILLE LACS LAKE EAST NORTHEAST INTO MUCH OF NORTHWEST WISCONSIN.
HEAVIER SNOW MAY FALL FURTHER NORTH INTO NORTHERN MINNESOTA AND A WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR A FEW MORE COUNTIES.
ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE VARIABLE. HEAVIEST SNOW OF 8 TO 15 INCHES WILL FALL FROM PINE COUNTY IN MINNESOTA EAST NORTHEASTACROSS MUCH OF NORTHWEST WISCONSIN.
AMOUNTS OF SIX INCHES OR MORE ARE POSSIBLE FROM THE BRAINERD LAKES AREA TO THE TWIN PORTS.
ADDITIONAL SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL ALSO POSSIBLE ALONG PORTIONS OF THE SOUTH SHORE OF LAKE SUPERIOR TUESDAY NIGHT INTO AT LEAST WEDNESDAY RESULTING IN EVEN HIGHER SNOW TOTALS. THE WARNING THERE MAY NEED TO BE EXTENDED.
THERE REMAINS UNCERTAINTY IN EXACT SNOW TOTALS AS WELL AS COVERAGE. EXPECT SOME ADJUSTMENTS IN TOTALS AND TIMING OVER NEXT 24 HOURS.

* TIMING…SNOW WILL DEVELOP MONDAY MORNING OVER SOUTHERN AREAS AND MOVE NORTH THROUGH THE DAY. THERE MAY BE SOME LAKE EFFECT SNOW EARLY AS WELL NEAR LAKE SUPERIOR.
SNOW INTENSITY WILL INCREASE THROUGH THE DAY INTO TUESDAY BECOMING HEAVY AT TIMES. ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL IS LIKELY TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY ALONG THE SNOWBELT OF ASHLAND AND IRON COUNTIES.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…8 TO 15 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS.
* VISIBILITY…EXPECT VISIBILITIES OF A HALF MILE OR LESS IN SNOW.
* WINDS…STRONGER WINDS NEAR LAKE SUPERIOR MONDAY AFTERNOON INTO TUESDAY WILL CAUSE CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING CLOSE TO LAKE SUPERIOR.
* IMPACTS…SEVERE TRAVEL DELAYS ARE EXPECTED AS THE SNOW PILES UP.
