Stars & Stripes, Oct. 30, 2014: A US federal judge has ruled that a class-action lawsuit filed by about 200 Navy sailors and Marines can proceed against [TEPCO, GE, EBASCO, Toshiba & Hitachi]…. “It is not over, but we have won the major battle,” lawyer Charles Bonner wrote… “THANK GOD!!!!!” responded Lindsay Cooper, the first USS Ronald Reagan sailor to come forward… [The] ruling was a bit of a surprise… [Sailors] alleged that TEPCO’s misinformation coaxed US forces closer… More ailing servicemembers came forward citing exposure-related ailments such as unexplained cancers, excessive bleeding and thyroid issues… [Attorneys] said additional plaintiffs are continuing to come forward with “serious ailments from radiation”
Bloomberg, Oct. 30, 2014: Judge Janis L. Sammartino… denied the request by [Tepco] to dismiss… Tepco had argued the U.S. military had contributed to the plaintiffs’ harm…
Charles Bonner & Cabral Bonner & Paul Garner, Esq. Press Release (via Nuclear Hotseat), Oct. 29, 2014: U.S. Navy Sailors have won a crucial battle… A Federal judge has ruled that the sailors’ class action law suit may go forward… 200 young sailors [say] TEPCO deliberately lied to the public and the U.S. Navy about the radiation levels… Up to 70,000 U.S. citizens were potentially affected by the radiation and will be able to join the class action suit… The lawsuit includes claims for illnesses such as Leukemia, ulcers, gall bladder removals, brain cancer, brain tumors, testicular cancer, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, thyroid illnesses, stomach ailments and a host of other complaints unusual in such young adults… One Sailor, age 22… states, “Upon my return from Operation Tomodachi, I began losing my eyesight.I lost all vision in my left eye and most vision in my right eye. I am unable to read street signs and am no longer able to drive… I know of no family members who have had leukemia.”… The sailors would like the general public to contact their members of Congress, locally elected officials, and President Obama and implore them to tell the Government of Japan to (1) apply the principles of “Operation Tomodachi” to the Plaintiff-victims and help these U.S. Sailors; and (2) tell TEPCO to stop shirking responsibility…
Defense Threat Reduction Agency, 2014:
- Ken Myers, DTRA Director: The nuclear crisis in Japan… was a terrible tragedy… It wasn’t just the nuclear threat on land… All of that nuclear material was spilling into the ocean… spreading around the Pacific… US Navy was potentially at threat, because the last thing you want to do is take a carrier strike force through a large nuclear contaminated area. There were some very interesting moments where we were in direct contact with the US Navy, recommending paths to stay out of nuclear contaminated area. There are a lot of people around here who boast that they were driving the carriers…
- Ronnie Faircloth, DTRA Director of Operations: The radiation exposure coming off of that civil nuclear reactor will kill you just as well as a nuclear weapon.

The Japanese nuclear fallout WAS a great tragedy? It was, is and continues to be one. These men who “Won” are dead. Their offspring and spouses might win, but this lawsuit will go on for years, the system we have is too corrupt for words.
WAS???? The Pacific Ocean is dead. Barnacles fill our beaches instead of beautiful sea shells. The fish are dead, salmon run was 1% of normal. and they are yellow. I spoke with some friends in WA state tonight. They are oblivious to the nuclear disaster a couple of hundred miles away, and continue to blithely eat fish from the rivers and streams around them. So called healthy stores like Trader Joe sell tons of salmon and other radioactive fish. The yellow salmon is dyed red, obvious to all of us who used to eat it.
The suit is won? I don’t think so, they will drag it through courts, supreme courts, appeals courts….you name it, these greedy monopolies have deep pockets, and they don’t care how many die due to their greed. TEPCO controls 96% of Japan’s power grid, and Japan will be dead in a few more years…….I sure hope TEPCO dies with them.
What happened to all the Fukushima residents forced to move home regardless it was not safe? What happened to the poor souls with gambling debts sent to Fukushima to work them off? What happened to the homeless people sent to Fukushima to work? What has happened to all of them? Why aren’t any of these questions being asked or investigated?
And they WON the lawsuit?
What about all the others?
What about the pets dying at age 3 in CA?
What about the people on the west coast?
Why is none of this being addressed?
Overhere in EU Fukushima doesn’t exist anymore. It is fall-out of the news as we’re getting sick of bad news? Only Ukrain and IS(IS) do exist and of course Putin has to be blamed for that. Local news seems to be more important.
